  1. I finished my playthrough of the Ogledow campaign on Youtube. This is the last installment, with a short review.
  2. Yeah I have little faith in bitcoin, however, I wouldn't be surprised if China could (for example) push ahead with some state backed digital currency, which would first be used by Russia and other sanctioned countries, but could also be used to undercut the dollar in the third world.
  3. Things don't necessarily stay as they are...
  4. Yeah I've also been wondering if future history books won't call these sanctions the beginning of the end of the dollar's dominance of global economy.
  5. They must have used a render with the B replaced by a Z:
  6. That is literally bomb spot B of Dust 2....
  7. There would be other problems with it as well, namely that neither the British nor French used submachine guns in meaningful quality. I mean, you do what you want, but my personal view is that this kind of energy would be best spent on making new content and scenarios for the time periods and forces already covered, especially considering the amount of different stuff already in FI...
  8. G41s should also not be in a France 1940 mod though. Neither should rifle grenades, btw.
  9. That's because this war is obviously different from the colonial adventures people are used to protesting against.
  10. Is the missing Grenadier 44 battalion also caused by that? Or a general mistake? I mean, for me it is not a problem, since I dont play quick battles, but seems like a bit of an oversight if the most common German formation is gone...
  11. Maybe it's me being confused, but is it possible the changes somehow deleted the normal Grenadier Battalion from the quick battle selection? At a glance I can only find the "Ersatz" version, at least in June 44. For those interested in the unspecified ToE changes, it seems like the German were brought up to the FI / RT standard, namely adding the G41 semi auto rifle and getting rid of the random MP44s.
  12. Also, I asked this before, but will there be Free French forces in the FB expansion?
  13. Will the FB module contain the French stuff from FI as well?
  14. There was a grenade launcher attachment for the M1 Carbine, which was used in late war.
  15. That's because this economic policy was in line with the neoliberal policy of the German establishment. Waging war or participating in it is not.
  16. Remember pre-22 when Germany was always quite far at the front of all those "most respected countries" polls? People even called Merkel "the leader of the free world" for a while, because she was arguably less loony than Trump. That's the world Scholz was born for. When the main task of a German politician was protecting the interests of German businesses and shaking hands with this or that sheikh or dictator to get the money flowing. He has not given up on that dream yet.
  17. Regarding the hybrid warfare potential of Russia: As I am sitting in my classroom here in Germany, looking out of the window, there is a massive traffic jam of trucks from all over eastern Europe. The reason: an as of yet unidentified truck has lost tons of white wax on the A7 Autobahn in the middle of the night. The first day after it happened we joked that it may have been a Russian act of sabotage. Now that we learned that this might take the whole week to clean up, some have started to believe it… Turns out you could probably cripple all of Germany with 4 trucks full of white wax.
  18. "RUMINT" from Germany regarding the Pumas: Possibly the problems were intentionally exaggerated for political reasons (similar to the G36 issues a few years back). While some of them are serious, they were lumped together with tons of minor stuff like non-working seat heating etc.
  19. Well, what did Clausewitz say? "War is an extension of politics... stupid, stupid politics."
  20. While that video is pretty ham-fisted, we should not underestimate the economic downturn and its effect on the lower income brackets. These were already hit hardest by the Covid disruptions and the years of neoliberal policy in Europe. This is the next cherry on top. As a teacher I know from a lot of students that this christmas is a lot less merry than usual for many families, even without pets on the grill.
  21. https://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/bnd-spionage-russland-generalbundesanwalt-1.5720861 Fresh off the presses: German member of BND secret service arrested for suspected spying for Russia.
