  1. I wasn't thinking of BFC, rather 3rd parties. It could be the same people that have produced missions previously for free. I take the point about it being hard to police. But to be fair I think most of us here would happily shell out some money for missions if they were provided and were of a decent quality. The finance thing is really just more of an incentive to mission creators. Call it some funds towards research materials or something As mentioned I have seen such a system work well for other titles. Yes I am sure that there might be some unauthorised sharing (they aren't protected in any way) but you still need the base game (and modules) to play them. Anyway, just a suggestion.
  2. Just a thought and I don't know if this has been discussed before... As far as Scenarios and Campaigns go, I understand the amount of work needed to churn them out is considerable. Hence the lack of missions with the Vehicle Pack. I also appreciate that the number of user created missions is testament to the generosity and dedication of the community. That said, and give the results of the poll, wouldn't extra scenarios/campaigns be worth putting up for money? Specifically, what I mean is that (provided Battlefront allowed) people could put together mission packs together and charge for them. It works well in other games I play, wherein a number of 3rd party designer put together mission packs and charge a nominal amount for them. I would happy lay out so money for some new missions.
  3. Well, I think that had Hitler been blown sky high then there would of been a power struggle in his lew. However I belive it unlikely that the Nazi party would of retained power. After all we know there was a considerable movement amongst the armed forces and subsidiary government that would of had to be over come first. As for the allies reaction, well I think a conditional peace may of been an attractive proposition. The USA had its hands full in the pacific, and also understood that in the vacuum of Nazi Germany, the USSR would probably fill the gap. Why not forgoe sending thousands of troops to their deaths when convincing victory could be attained without further conflict? Provided a return to pre invasion of poland boundaries I think most could of accepted that, perhaps with further reparations. By 43 the USSR was starting to get scary, why not nip it in the bud?
  4. The problem is the AI is doing this too, so whilst you can somewhat limit the effect on your pixeltruppen by splitting teams the AI has half its men the wrong side of walls
  5. Thats awesome Regiment0! It would be great to keep the tracers for machine guns and kill them for rifles/smgs/pistols etc. Ill dig around and see if anything makes sense
  6. What if you screwed with the alpha channels and made all tracer transparent? From my seat currently I would rather have none than the laser fest. Well I would at least like to try it. Yes I wouldnt know whats going on, but my pixel truppen wouldnt be affected. Just the visuals. So yes perhaps less realistic, perhaps more. Again it would be intresting to try it out.
  7. Thanks for the replies chaps, but just to clarify, i am after a mod that creates less tracers (perhaps only for Machine guns and not rifles or SMGs). Is thre such a thing (its really for SP play).
  8. Im posting this in the CMBN thread simply as it seems the more active one, but it pertains to CMFI and aslo SF equally. My chaps with SMGs and Rifles all seem to be firing tracers. At least some of the time. Perhaps Im wrong here but Tracer was really only used in General Purpose machine guns? I think the ratios of normal slugs to tracer may of been lower. So to my question, is the above correct? Is this just a game aid to help you see where you are taking fire from. Is there a mod that does away with this and removes the star-wars visuals from the game? Or am i simply wrong? Many thanks
  9. Forget Metacritic and also the main PC press reviews. CM isn't designed to appeal to your "normal" gamer. Its actually designed to appeal to WW2/Wargamer fans. And I love that about it. Its realism and intent not to compromise. Its not perfect, but is the most perfect game we have about the subject matter. For me, I recommend it to all my gaming fans, even if they arent the target audience. Hell if they like war films the chances are they will like this (with a bit of guidance). Metacritic is for console releases. Spreading the word is how to promote CM properly.
  10. Medics teams, I am tired of using my XO team as such, lets have a dedicated unit (adds a time bonus to giving buddy aid, everyone takes a moral hit if it is destroyed, but it can heal both sides for a VP increase across the board).
  11. It happens with both on board and off board assets. I can use them to call in Arty in the setup phase, but not at all during the actual battle. (Which kinda defeats their purpose)
  12. I wonder if anyone can help me out here. Ive been playing a couple of MP games against a friend via internet connection. In both I have either bought TRP markers or they have been a part of the scenario. I have placed them, but when the game starts proper (post deployment) I cannot use them It doesnt matter if I choose a FO or any other command unit, they all come up as "no line of sight". Ive used them before successfully in single player, so what gives? Are they disabled in MP? Thanks Squid
