You are welcome JM, I spent a lot of time on getting the uniforms/equipment and helmets as close as the real thing! I'm very proud of what I have made so far for all to enjoy. One more surprise coming in the near future. 🙂

Screenshots will be edited in as I sip my coffee...
EDIT: I will probably miss the 1 hour window to post them here in this post. I have to first rename them and add modtags. But I will display them this morning.

JM Stuff reacted to Falaise in HOW TO MAKE A BIG MOD (TEST DUMMY LOG)
paradoxically I am much more comfortable with the British uniform than French
for a BEF
you only need mk 2 helmet, the flat helmet
Enfield n3 MKI
no individual tool, the flat shovel is rare in 1940 and that of ww1 will not be reintroduced until after the campaign of France.
battledress pat 37 without visible button
metallic title in shoulder
and especially the gas mask with the case that is worn on the chest
I do everything except that you need Blender skill: the gaz mask pouch

JM Stuff reacted to Mr.X in Ressources for CMRT-Campaigns
During map-making, I had to think about the wonderful possibilities to create new content for CMRT. So, I collected some theatres, which would be worth
to be included in campaigns or single missions. May be, there are campaigns/missions including theese yet, but the mayority of contents (my personal feeling) is about
the Berlin Battle...
Here is my list - any extension is appreciated 👍
Northern Region
1. The battle of the Narwa-Bridgehead during the time frame June/July 1944
2. The battle of the so called "Tannenberg-Stellung" during the last Days of July 1944
3. The ferocious fighting of the "Kurland-Bridgehead" from October 1944 till the end of the war.
4. The battle of the East Prussian Border during October 1944...Nemmersdorf, Gumbinnen
5. The battle of the Fortress Koenigsberg from January to April 1944
6. The savage fighting for the last Axis Bridgeheads at the Baltic Sea during March 1945...for example the bridgehead Heiligenbeil
7. The defensive battles of Army Group Vistula with the battle of Danzig at the end in March 1945
8. The battles of the Axis Operation "Sonnenwende" in Pommerania during February 1945
Central Region
1. The battle of the Bridgehead Kuestrin at the Oder-Line from February to April 1945
2. The ferocious battle of the Bridgehead Altdamm in March 1945
3. The huge defensive battles near Warszaw from August to November 1944
4. The defensive battles along the front in Poland in January 1945 and the Axis Retreat to the Oder-River
5. The last defensive battles of Axis Forces in the region west of the Oder-River in Mecklenburg from April to May 1945
6. The counter attack of Army Group "Steiner" in April 1945
7. The battle of the "Halbe-Pocket" south of Berlin in April 1945
8. The Siege of Breslau from February to May 1945
9. The savage battles which took place in Czechoslovakia during the last weeks of the war 1945
10. The Battle of Bautzen in late April 1945
11. The Battle of Lauban in March 1945
South Region
1. The huge tank battles near Debreczen in September/October 1944
2. The Siege of Budapest from December to February 1944/45
3. The Axis Operation "Spring Awakening" in March 1945
4. The Battle of the "Gran-Bridgehead" in February 1945
5. The desperate retreat of Axis Forces from Hungary during March/April 1945
6. The Battle of Vienna in April 1945
7. The Battle of Szekesferhervar during Feburary 1945
8. The Operations "Konrad I-III" in January 1945
And I am sure, there are lots of more interesting regions and battles...
Regards
Mr.X

JM Stuff reacted to chuckdyke in What makes Red Thunder special?
Most realistic of all CM games. Tanks can have passengers in Battle for Normandy they can't. I ignore mostly the modern titles now, and don't enjoy them at all.

JM Stuff got a reaction from Probus in Advancing Behind Armor
I guess infantry can take some protection but the first reason is to protect the tank itself, like a screen on the sides and on the turret.
Just make some research.

JM Stuff reacted to Zveroboy1 in Baltic Mini Map Pack
For anyone interested in the historical context, the three maps in Estonia are more or less situated right on the path of the Russian 67th and 1st guard armies operating under the 3rd Baltic front who launched their offensive from Pskov, south of the lake Peipus, towards the town of Pechory in august 44. Basically during the first half of 1944 the red army had tried in vain to attack on the Narva isthmus. With Bagration in full swing, the German retreat and the transfer of troops to army group centre, it became possible to bypass the Narva position.
The Russian offensive then progressed along a north west axis toward Tartu which eventually forced the now outflanked German Narva grouping to pull back. It is also worth noting that the Russians conducted an amphibious assault across the narrowest part of the lake Peipus with a flotilla of 40 small vessels.
On the German side, lots of troops were poorly equipped and trained Estonian militias. But naturally the German army counterattacked with units like the Nordland division from the III ss panzer corps and later army group north sent von Strachwitz and his kampfgruppe to strike the flank of the Russian 1st guard army. Strachwitz had however an unfortunate Kubelwagen accident who killed all passengers except him but left him with a fractured skull.

JM Stuff reacted to Saferight in Modding Small Arms
So i decided to try modding some of the Russian/Ukrainian firearms, not going to call it a mod just yet because i can't guarantee ill get far with this one (like most of my others ) but so far i like the results...
Here is the older AK-74, RPK-74, and AKS-74u which all share the same textures. Deep red Russian laminate stock and polymer mag but thats what i like...
Still have to do the folding stock and figure out how exactly the brake on the "Krink" is textured...
I also have done a new makarov but have yet to find it in the game . Keep you guys posted on any more progress

La grande conclusion
We shall see what happens in Saint-Grammont-sur-Merde...
The Bufla destroys an R35. Maybe the last of them?
Major Tron watches Pelou enter the village...
<I will recommend him and his crew for medals!>
DRI-VERRRR!!! FORWARDDDDDDD!!!! Cross the bridge and go to the left of those houses!
Pelou's tank moves slowly down the main street. The Bufla is only around the corner.
Major Tron comes around to draw fire for Pelou. Pelou is ready to turn sharply as soon as he clears the small bicycle shop.
Major Tron pumps his fist! Now Pelou! Now!!!!!
Pelou's gunner fires and hits.
SAINT-GRAMMONT is ours!!!

A near miss for Sergeant Clouseau!
We have lost 5 of the R35's as we clear this first defensive line of infantry. The 37mm gun is practically state of the art for its time.
The SS grenadiers pay dearly for the 5 tanks.
End of Part 1

JM Stuff reacted to Aragorn2002 in Operation Boston - Objectie La Fiere enters final playtest today
You will be back, Wim. 😀And perhaps then you can try to make scenarios/campaigns for the Eastern front, instead of 'eternal'normandy. So many interesting subjects there still, like Courland, Eastern Prussia and other more balanced battlefields. CMRT is too heavy concentrated on Berlin, I think, which was not much more than a massacre, which doesn't fascinate me in the least.
Talented people like you simply can't be missed at this forum. Pull yourself together, man! 🙂
