  1. I'm looking for an opponent: i'm a low-medium skill player and would like to PBEM play against someone the same level as mine. Please mail me at matteo_santus@hotmail.com. Thank you!
  2. I think they could work it out with some smart solution (somethink like a huge "vehicle" in wich troops enter and disembark to different firing position or exit points). By the way, they are smart designers and i full trust in their skills to do this! I think that Pacific theater would be something to do also because if you work out the japanes way of fight, you can do also the vietnamese way of fight and both Vietnam and Pacific Combat Mission would be best seller IMHO.
  3. What you say about mixed forces is true, but the Pacific would give a whole new ways of approach to warfare. Jungle ambushes, underground network, suicidal charges, and so on. And also, even if japanese have not so many tanks, they indeed used them as well. And of course they were plenty of artillery and support. Of course that one will be the CM more costly to produce because almost all have to be made anew.
  4. Thank you domfluff, all great stuff! I think that CMFI could have a final module for Gothic line, maybe including partisans also! My dream is to have a Pacific theater CM game, but i know this is not easy..
  5. Hello guys, I've been away for a while and started playing again in 2015: every time i fell in love for CM! I was wondering what we will see next for WW2 CM games, maybe i missed some news while away (i also remember that there was a post named "The road ahead", but i cannot find it..).. Thank you guys! Matteo
  6. Hello! I'm looking for a PBEM opponent! I own all Strategic Command games, both WWI and WWII including expansions. Anyone interested in PBEM play?
  7. Hello there's someone interested in playing in PBEM against me? I own all Strategic Command games including the WWI.
  8. I particularly would like to see some russian HEAVY artillery and SMG company fighting in the woods! For the remaining, everything is good to me!
  9. I totally agree with Endymion. CM is great the way it is, the player is not the real commander, is the god-like commander, or better the player is every commander in the army, down to the sergeants. CM is the best WWII tactical combat simulation ever, but it's not a supreme commander simulation. Adding an order delay is a very bad idea IMHO, it would change the game completely.
  10. I'll buy any WWII CM game they release. I would particularly love to see: - Russian front (za rodina!!!) - Pacific front (banzai!!!)
  11. Thank you guys for your suggestion. About Civil War PC games, what's the best for you? I played (and enjoyed) Take Command seires and also Sid Meier's Gettysburg and Battlefront battles (Shiloh, Chickamauga, Antietam, Gettysburg).
  12. Thank you all guys, i think that Shelby Foote is what i need. Both my english and civil war knowledge will surely improve a lot after reading it! Also History Animated website is really great. Something like that, a really masterpiece about WWII eastern front: http://english.pobediteli.ru/
  13. Hello! I have a question for US guys or other historicians! I'm looking for a detailed military history of american civil war. Not a mainstream book about "how they fight" or "the main strategies", but instead a detailed military history of operation, battles and engagements of the conflict, something like "The Peninsula War" of Sir Charles Oman (for those who know it). There is something like that that you can suggest me? Thank you!
  14. I find placing AT guns VERY difficult. They're often very "low on ground" and so their LOS if very easily blocked, but i think that they still can see tanks also if without a clear LOS to the ground upon which the tank stands. For example: there is a wall about 100 m away from my AT gun. In set up i have no LOS behind that wall, but i have it to the house further behind (in fact i'm not aiming at the groung upon which the house stands, but on the house walls, that are taller than the low wall blocking my LOS to the ground behind it), so i think i could shot also to any tank behind that wall, even if i've no LOS to the ground behind that wall. It is VERY difficult to place those AT guns because LOS could be very tricky and you have to "read" it. But it is also possibile that you "read" it badly and in battle you cannot at all fire where you think you could! I think that that problem have to be solved. I suggest to have a new tool to see "LOS with elevation", so really you can place well your AT guns. What do you think about it?
  15. Whiterider, i totally agree with you. Cooperative scenarios and multiplayer scenarios are very easy to get, in fact they just need to add the option. Multiplayer campaigns maybe could be more difficult if you want to design them properly, but i would like the same to play the already existing campaign in multiplayer!
  16. I'm a big PBEM fan and i love the WeGo system, so it's for that kind of playmode that i really would like to have a campaign mode, hope that Battlefront will release it!
  17. Hello, i think that CM multiplayer play is great, and i would like to suggest some improvement: 1. MULTIPLAYER CAMPAIGN - linked battles to fight against the same opponent 2. COOPERATIVE MULTIPLAYER - possibility to split command in the same campaign or in scenario to fight side-by-side with a friend 3. MORE MULTIPLAYER PLAYERS - possibility to play a scenario with more than 2 people, for example doing 2vs1 or 2vs2. Esepically i think that multiplayer campaigns would be a wonderful improvement to have! What do you think?
  18. I think that the best thing to add to Combat Mission games is a multiplayer improvement. Especially: - multiplayer campaign, with linked scenario, to play against a human opponent a linked serie of battles (THE BEST NEW IMPROVEMENT); - cooperative game, with campaigns or scenario, to play with a human friend against AI (A VERY EASY IMPROVEMENT TO GET); - multiplayer scenario playable with other 2 or 3 people (maybe 2vs1 or 2vs2)(A VERY INTERESTING IMPROVEMENT). What do you thing about it? Combat Mission multiplayer is simply wonderful and improving it will be great!!!
  19. Video vignettes are wonderful, they help understand and gives a "movie-like" feeling that is great! Thank you for your wonderful job and many compliments for your wise aprroach to every battle!
  20. I'm definitely in! Great to hear! A very important question: there will be a multiplayer option? The only thing is missing in Combat Mission is a way to link up multiplayer battles, it will be GREAT to have an operational game to play in someway (PBEM?) against a friend!!!
  21. Hello John, i will check it and come back to you with an answer ASAP.
  22. Hello John, i also mailed them reading your post. I'm italian. They answered me, telling that they already answered to another guy, they sent me the answer they mailed him, unfortunately i have not the questions, but it is quite clear. ----- Hello, we know the game, one our member was in the staff of another game (ARMA) mod called "INVASION 44", his nickname is "Rebus". About your questions: 1) Depends on the men that are available in the MG squad, but 2 is the number to move without problems the Lafette (tripod) with MG, other men, if available, transport ammo boxes and accessories. If you want transport all ready without dissembly. 2) Usually each ammo box contains belts of 250 cartridges, about the number of ammo box, depend on the men available and the supply to the unit. An hand can transport 2 ammo boxes, because the hey not simmetric handles, then you can easy transport 4 ammo boxes with the 2 available hads of a crew (if k98 transported on the back with strap). There was the "tragestell" too, that is a frame that can transport 3 mg ammo boxes on the back: http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/military_photos/heer-luftwaffe-kriegsmarine-uniforms-3-reich/14850d1233089419t-luftwaffe-feld-division-uniforms-headgear-equipment-and-insignias-thread-tragestell1.jpg 3-4) move the MG on tripod is a tactic to change mg nest during a battle RUNNING and without lose time in dissembly and assembly of the lafette, it's good for movements not over 50 meters in my opinion. Over this, it's better other tactic, gunner take mg and he's operative while the crew transport tripod (unmonted and closed to back) and accessories. 5) yes, there are original videos, but, at the moment is hard to find them, on youtube you can find examples of training of german soldiers with MG and tripod and other footages in combat where you can see something. Like these: http://youtu.be/xwRCUrzlTao 6)about the times, with 3 mens (mg gunner and 2 crew) with tripod on back, optic in box, belts in 4/5 ammo boxes ... you are operative with a mg nest approximately in 1 minute.
