  1. im not sure if it will be useful and im having trouble making sense of the data but ive got Terminal Ballistic Data Vol 3 - Bombs Artillery Mortar Fire Rockets - 1945 on my site.. direct link for the document to download is https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B08mkmHC8WBaMTdhY2NhYjItM2Q3NS00OGMzLTg4ZDktODI4MTY1NTIxMzg4&hl=en_GB hope it will help
  2. just a thought and thank you for confirming it was wrong. much appreciated phil
  3. im wondering if the BN artillery uses pretty much the same accuracy stats as shockforce. has anyone compared the two?
  4. haha awesome go china ! i loved the PLA mod for operation flashpoint back in the day. im not so sure about this. im picturing americas army but with it being shooting americas army i actually applaud them for making something to balance out the hero/enemy playing field a bit. As a side note i saw rambo 3 the other day.. i wonder if john rambo would be arrested these days due to aid and training provided to afghan terrorists
  5. haha no but google a "mad jack" churchill.ah my mistake he was mad and english . stormed the beaches of normandy with claymore, bagpies and a long bow and was famously quoted as saying when the war ended "Churchill was said to be unhappy with the sudden end of the war, saying: "If it wasn't for those damn Yanks, we could have kept the war going another 10 years." " give me a squad of him and ill take berlin by july!
  6. awesome news but i never saw an insane scottsman charging the beaches with a claymore and bagpipes
  7. https://sites.google.com/site/groggygamer/ you might find something on my site. not so much in the way of pics though
  8. i second the recomendation for the brothers in arms series. very good story, more emotional than any other fps out there, and the fact the maps are based on actual research makes it better.. hmm i wonder how a campaign based on it and the actual real events would go. the adventures of red and bullet proof matt baker.. although the latest one adds tank driving sections which is mmm very arcadey to say the least. i cant remember the name of it but i distinctly remember a game from a few years ago where you ended up with letters home to the families. it was a very sobering moment. the mockumentary "tales of virtual combat" shows what can be done as well with just a little creativity. one idea i had. some seperate files with each campaign. password protected and you get the password in a briefing or debriefing after or before a battle. things like letters from home, maps, a photo from a loved one. more detailed intelligence reports and for someone creative. maybe a short movie or two
  9. i was just reading a report done in 1944 that examined recomendations from the troops, bogging wasnt an issue to speak of for the shermans and m5's but for what its worth the number one complaint was throwing tracks in uneven terrain
  10. dont forget it could be a complete unknown for a breakdown too. ive seen alot of reports and photos of broken down german tanks, that were sabotaged at the factory while being made, not to mention things that could be sabotage or half assed manufacturing like bolts not tightened at all. come to think of it. i do wonder if thats part of thereputation for break downs the big german heavies had
  11. lion.. lowe.. heavy tank the germans had on the drawing boards.. last seen in world of tanks
  12. doh i just checked the thread and noticed there was a donation section thats now gone. i cant wait to see episode 2 the first was.. well incredible and moving to say the least
  13. there was even some talk of dropping FJ in normandy as well but it never went anywhere, with all that aircover not to mention the way the allies were pushing it would be suicide
  14. ah yes you need to double click on the file to execute it not just copy and paste. if its in a .rar or .zip. format you will need winrar or a zip program to unpack them first. *edit* you will need a zip program which is easy to find free on the net to unpack the zip file to get the files you need official patches you will need http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_versions&Itemid=317#Combat%20Mission%20Shock%20Force%20-%20British%20Forces try reinstalling the base game patch to 1.10 or 1.11 install the british module skip the 1.20 patch patch to 1.21 patch to 1.31 patch to 1.32 hope that helps
  15. yeah i had the same issue with the black ground and turns out id assumed that once installing the mudlues the last patch would include all previous updates but it doesnt so base game 1.10 patch british forces rest of the patches in order.
  16. awww thats cute, although i was expecting a kingtiger carrying panzergrenadiers to come crashing through the trees, but thats just me
  17. it would need a whole different level added to the game, a strategic layer. which is something come to think about it would be good but still thats a heck of a lot of map creation for a large battle. maybe a mix of something like highway to the reich (great game by the way) and cmbn for the tactical level. my mind does boggle about how many battles, etc something like that would involve
  18. according to the wiki about it there are knocked out jagdtigers and jagdpanthers in it as well. pretty remarkable what was laying around for films after the war. woah and first time ive ever seen a sherman roll over too. interesting to see how fast a sherman crew can bailout as well. its speeded up but you are still only looking at 5 seconds or so
  19. well the accuracy of naval gunfire on a beach landing could be put down to direct fire but yeah it still doesnt cover fighting further in land
  20. sounds interestning i might have to pick it up to check it out for myself
  21. Ha I just finished playing that for the first time and teaching those invading imperialists what for ! ambush IED's for the win great scenario though from both sides. In regards to higgins boats id be happy with some static models we could place on the waters edge for atmosphere. Oh a Combat mission:pacific sounds good irronically there tend to be more detailed maps, etc for japanese defences available than for europe ive found. honestly what would it mean? few more tiles, black sand for one and jungle, pacific trees, and bushes, not to mention the OOB for US + allies and japanese forces. oh not to mention a single marine hero character runing around a map with a aircrat cannon on a shoulder strap. ah a girl can dream
  22. it definitely wasnt that bad in real life for the tanks on the western front..ive read of full battalion armoured assaults on towns in well muddy doesnt begin to cover it "bogged up to the turret" and even in conditions like that 3 were lost to enemy fire while 2 were bogged and had to be destroyed.. it seriously needs looking at for the next patch
  23. i dont know what is near where you live but i find its cheaper to go to one of the mass photocopy places, they can usually print out a couple of hundred pages plus bind them very cheaply. where i live im looking at probably $30 in ink plus binding. or i can go get the whole thing done for around $10 or so with comb or wire binding(wire is great for opening flat )
