  1. Thanks a lot for all the feedback. Now it will be far easier deal with my guilty concience (hope I said that right) Thanks again. Awsome forum this one!
  2. Ok, I´m a happy (and I mean it) owner of CM2 (BN and CWF). But I cannot get completely decided to buy Fortress Italy. Mostly because it was a front that never really gained my attention (although it had critical and brutal confrontations like Montecassino or Anzio, just to quote a couple of them). FI is not precisely cheap, and also, I still have many scenarios to play with the games (BN and CWF) I already have... I wouldn´t hesitate if it was "Market Garden" or Ardennes (any clue when will they arrive?) So, I just need a slight push... For those who have it (FI), could you please convince me? TY Ps: Just a thought... I don´t like to call this game just a "game". I prefer to call it "really fun and interactive digital-graphical history book". Guess this definition is never gonna make it through... And a BIG S to all the community.
  3. Yes, first try, first defeat! My commander Barkmann (in Barkmann´s corner) died at half the scenario to a front 76mm hit, that ironically didn´t kill the tank, just him and the loader. Few turns later, even though my german fellows managed to kill nine shermans and a couple of halftracks, a side shot in the turret of the Panther from another 76mm gun (guess an M4A2), made ther rest of the crew bail out and run for cover. After that, the infantry near the village (I could have set them up better than I did) was overrun by the american tanks which reached the their objective in no time and gifted me a major defeat. Without armor support any team sent to recapture lost ground was under death warrant. Even though in front of such a beating (to me), I ended up with a big smile. The only feeling that I was left with, is that I found infantry a little bit vulnerable (no matter the cover they had), and that the AI easily recognized and killed all my Raketenpanzerbüchse (panzerschreck) teams... Of course it could be just my imagination and lack of willing to accept the beating I received . So, being in a Panther was not taht easy after all Great game, S!
  4. Thanks for the welcome, I too remember the days when I started playing SL (+Cross of Iron and Crescendo of Doom) which was in the early 80s, then and thanks to VASSAL I knew and switched to ASL. I was absolutely happy with the boardgame, but time constraints due to work made it difficult to play it, not even to mention with a friend. Now I can do it again. Hope to get on shape soon so as to play with one of you in the near future. BTW, GreenAsJade, you have very good stuff in your web page, was lucky to find it, S! all
  5. When I saw the price my first thought was "its overpriced"... then I also thought on the money I spent in my various modules of ASL, which is undoubtely more than 55 dollars. So I decided to try the demo. What can I say? I instantly loved it! Really wanted to thank you for this superb strategy game. BTW, how many of you are ASL players? (ignore if this was discussed before) S!!
