It may be a Ploy to get nore of us CMBN heads to crossover and also play Global Conflict. In my case they were sucssesful. I always wanted to see if i could win WW2 . That old "Risk" board game just did not cut the musturd. So I am anxious to give "Global Conflict" a Go!,while I await the CW module.

I know it is has been said that Heinz "Hurry up" Guderian gave his men Speed pills during the battle of France 1940, but I doubt if even they could have kept up with these Chaps

Yeah the manual is only 33 pages compared to CMBN's 197 pages. It has some "Kidddie Console" game features but at least it has big Maps and Graphics from the 21'st Century. I don't feel this was a total waste of money. Like I did with men of war, sudden strike, and many others. it is a quick fix game compared to CMBN......Bring on the CW module....

I think I am going to buy this! I was stationed at Sembach AB Germany from 1979-81 as a Ground Power tech in a Mobile Radar squadron [603 TCS]. Sembach AB was also a forward operating location for the A-10 at that time. So this sim should be right up my alley!!!!!! Terra Thanks for the link Harold

Those things you love..about cmbn!
Hessian deserter replied to Warmachine113's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I have only had A-10C about a week. I like it a lot. I think that, like CMBN It will take months to master but once you do ,the rewards will be Grand. check out some of the utube vid's on it . Sorry to get O.T. Great CMBN memories,......taking out a Panzer MKIV with an M-8 Greyhound, with a shot to the MKIV's rear armour. Using Diversionary Tactics,,,, By drawing the enemy's attention in one direction with some of your unit's and attacking with other units from the enemy's blind side. -

"Dying for Saint-Lo" Didier Lodieu 1944 Americans in Brittany the battle for brest Jonathon Gawne Both of these have great diagrams, maps, profiles of uniforms and AFV's in addition to good text. Having read "If you Survive" I better understand why the high casualty rates among junior officers. These high casualty rates among leaders and officers seem to be replicated well in CMBN,as I have noticed other members wondering if the high casualty rate among leaders in CMBN is accurate. The first thought that came to mind was the' if you survive" book. -
Opinions on Normandy vs CMSF
Hessian deserter replied to abneo3sierra's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Extreme difference in terrain open Desert vs. Bocage....The range and velocity of the RPG!!That can take out a modern tank with one shot, amazing. No Toyota/Izuzu pick up trucks. Being a ww2 fan I dream that maybe by 2014 BFC will treat us to a new CMAK/Med. WE know they can do the desert terrain well from the CMSF series. -
Sun in your face
Hessian deserter replied to rocketman's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I have seen some ww2 pictures of officers wearing sunglasses,so I know they were around in 44. As to weather or not they were worn to aid spotting on sunny days,I do not know?..........It would be kinda Kooooooooooool to have some of the HQ units wearing sunglasses.. -
Thanks Vencini.....I bookmarked it.......very useful.....

I used an MMG Jeep on quick or fast move, to ambush an 88mm 5 man gun crew from their blind side, killing 3 of the gun crew before my jeep reversed direction. The remaining 2 gun crew members could not man and fire the 88 by themselves. This turned out in the long run to be one of those battle changing wego minutes.

Mortars out of contact...
Hessian deserter replied to Javaslinger's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I recently had one of my Infantry Platoon HQ unit's get an outstanding LOS while behind a hedge,he got an LOS on a German platoon behind a wall, that allowed me to "linear target" the length of the wall. So I am learning to check more often the LOS's of all my HQ's units for art'y support in addition to the FO and Mortar HQ. -
Finding it too hard (again)

Good smoke,Canister that is,from tanks and pop smoke from certain infantry units. If you are talking about the campaign that I think you are? there are several in depth threads about it on this forum.
