  1. Thanks for the responses guys. Badger73, I totally forgot about that site. Thanks for the reminder. StieliAlpha and Errwin; Baneman has asked to test them and was looking for an opponent. I'll let him know you guys are interested. If he already has an opponent, I can send them to you guys to play. Let me know. Thanks again guys
  2. Hi Guys! I have been working on a two scenario H2H mini campaign involving the South African 11th Armored Brigade and their drive from Rome to Florence. For these scenarios I settled on one of the last valleys they had to traverse. The town at the north end of the valley is MERCATALE. Just south of Mercatale is a small village with four main roads. It is called LE QUATTRO STRADE. As there are no units in the game for the South African Army, I found that I could tweak the Canadian units to represent the SA 11th. I split the battle into two parts, Le Quattro Strade followed by Mercatale. Both scenarios are big, battalion plus size, with armor, CAS, infantry and lots of arty. RocketMan and BobWillett have helped me and also play tested the scenarios. Now I'm looking for two people to play test both scenarios before I release them. I am not interested in an involved, blow by blow AAR. Just a commentary every ten turns or so to give me an idea of how its going, general strategies used and it's playability. My goal has always been to create a fun and playable scenario. If it's close to the original battles, that's even better. If anyone is interested, please PM me and I will send you the package. Thanks, LiveNoMore
  3. I used the Mud to Water mod to create a stream on a small map. After i put units on the map the mud returned! Don't know what happened, but nothing seems to return the mod. Any ideas? When it did work it looked great. I made the stream one tile wide with marsh on both sides. I also put stones from the Flavor Objects menu in the stream to give it depth.
  4. Para, did you recently upgrade to Win10? There are some permission issues associated with it. Either way, right click on the icon try the "run as administrator" option.
  5. Thanks RokinHarry! This looks great. I haven't tried modding yet. This might get me to try!
  6. I found the trick of looking for the lowest water tile, but I have a different problem. How do you create a stream running downhill? Without it looking like a deep gully.
  7. It looks good. I really like the Terrain objectives being different and widely separated. Will make a very interesting battle.
  8. Hahaha! Love that DiSaronno! When you guys are done with the scenario, please let me know what you thought of it.
  9. Lee, I've been making scenarios for a couple of years now. I jumped into it for fun. The first couple were way out of balance. I found that I usually gave one side or the other way too many assets. Once the map was completed (a modified QB map or one I made from scratch) and I started placing units, I could see the imbalance. Then I would set a defense up in one area (giving the defenders the best status available) and attack it with the forces that would be in that part of the map. Just a couple of turns. This gave me a quick indication if the battle would be one sided or not. I believe this has improved my scenario building skills. Most of mine are H2H because that is the way I like to play. I've tried a couple with the defender having an AI and found that creating a good, responsive AI is very hard. Like Combatintman said, the narrative is the key to making a good scenario. Know how you want the scenario to go and work towards that. Good luck with it!
  10. New scenario at GreenAsJade and should be available in the Repository soon. Fictional H2H or Allied v AI, 45 minutes "Last night our scouts watched the Italians abandon the village across the ravine. Originally we had planned on bypassing it. Now HQ wants us to take it."
  11. Hi All, Thought I'd add my experience. I use my computer for both business and personal. Needed to upgrade to Win 10 because the boss wanted to make sure all our software works in that environment. The computer is only a few months old. (Intel i7 -4790 CPU Quad 3.6GHz; 16 GB Ram; 64 Bit; AMD Radeon R9 200 and Intel HD Graphics 4600) The transition was smooth and easy. It looked like everything worked. I opened all three of my games (CMBN, CMFI, CMRT) which are up to date with everything. It looked great! Then today I found a really weird thing. In CMFI I could not load any of my scenarios. I could see the scenario list, but not the PBEM game move that dropbox said was in the folder. And CM Helper kept telling me it had a move waiting, but couldn't do anything with it. I tried everything I could think of, even uninstalled and reinstalled CMFI and all it's patches, etc. Still nothing. Then I tried running it in ADMINISTER mode. EVERYTHING WORKED! I also had to shut down CM Helper and reopen it in administer mode. Don't know if this was something that my computer configuration required, but if your having an issue opening things, try administer mode first.
  12. I probably missed this in another thread, but I can't find a list of the various flavor objects in the scenario editor. I know the different numbers for farm equipment represents different types of equipment, but where are the dead horses? Is there a list someplace of all the objects and how to get to them? Thanks for the help, LiveNoMore
  13. I was playing CMRT Carius at Malinava v1when I ran into this. A Russian T34 was spotted near a small farm compound. Three Tigers fired at it, scoring one hit. The T34 backed out of sight. Since I had already knocked out another T34 in the area I waited for it to continue backing. It did not reappear. I sent the crew from a destroyed Tiger to spot. They could not see it while standing in the adjacent building, the orchard behind or directly in front. However, the T34 could see them and they were killed by MG fire. So I blasted the adjacent building until it collapsed. Still no T34. Now I sent a Tiger to investigate. From all angles he could not see the T34. He blasted the area where the T34 should be, with no results. I was restricted from firing directly at the outhouse from all angles. Finally, I got tired and saved the game, then hit cease fire. The T34 had been imbedded itself into the outhouse and been immobilized. Is this a bug or an anomaly? http:// http://
  14. For those of you who like to play in the snow. DiSaronno, a fictional battle in the winter of '45. At the Repository now. Let me know what you think of it! LiveNoMore
  15. Hey! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed creating and play testing it too. My playing partner and I enjoy large mufti-faceted games. There are two more Italian scenarios I created which you should also enjoy. Both deal with the British 8th Army moving up the east side of the Italian peninsula. The first is Campobasso, a town with an ancient castle located east of Monte Cassino. (My grandparents are from the area and the battles there interested me.) The second is Termoli, a small seaport on the Adriatic coast east of the Compobasso region. PM me if you want anymore info. PS These were the first two games I created and have gone through some revision over time. Particularly my map making abilities. I am currently play testing another Italian campaign called Le Quattro Strade dealing with the South African 11th brigade and their move towards Florence. Rocketman is play testing a Fictional scenario call DiSaronno for me. I hope to put both out in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
  16. Sounds great! I am working on 2 scenarios dealing with the 11th South African Armored Brigade moving through the Chianti mountains towards Florence. It will either be 2 separate scenarios or a small campaign. Both Rocketman and BobWillett have expressed interest in play testing it. The first will be ready for that in the next week or so. Can't wait to see if my TOE is close to what Battlefront staff comes up with. Thanks for all the info.
  17. Hi All, Any word on going beyond the Gustav Line? I'd like to see some of the battles/allied armies that fought through Florence and into the Apennines. If it has already been discussed I seem to have missed it.
  18. I'm using a 21 inch monitor with 1920x1080. I noticed a big difference when I moved up from a 17 inch monitor. I wish I had the room on my desk for a 24 inch monitor! I did find that the better the graphics card, with the most memory, mad the biggest difference.
  19. I think they are a big issue. You decide. The first screenshot has Shaders on, the second off.
  20. I have the Raedon 7780 graphics card and yes, I have shadow issues. I found that turning shaders off still gives me the shadows I like, but not the deep black holes around vehicles.
  21. Never mind! I found a file "Gridded Grass HD" file hiding in my "Z" folder. Don't remember downloading it.
  22. There seems to be a faint grid pattern on all the maps I have played/looked at in CMRT. They are not there in CMBN or CMFI. Is there a setting I need to use to get rid of these? or maybe it's a byproduct of a mod I've downloaded? Anyone know? Thanks
  23. The rarely seen version of the T34-85 know as the "Push/Pull" or Two Headed Tortoise. ]
  24. What is the best program to use when capturing video? I have been using Fraps for screenshots, but found that even at the lowest setting video eats up a lot of memory. A 30 second capture uses over 100mb. Any recommendations?
