  1. There's (at least) one file, Pointe du Hoc, which won't run on the Mac. There might be others, but I havne't tried avery file yet. Jyri
  2. The "archive" is the file you download. Just open that & the readme is in the folder it creates with all the files needed. Jyri
  3. Try this link to CMBN Scenario Organizer. It breaks out the individual battles in any campaign http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1411 Jyri
  4. Yup, one more battle after this one, which is the Allied counter-attack once you take the town. If you have enough armour left, then it's probably the easiest battle of all due to the terrain, although if your armour was mauled then it can be tough (albeit do-able). Jyri
  5. From your description of the scenaro I'm guessing you're talking about "Out of the hills", which is the next to last battle. Look over the map VERY carefully. There's a spot from which an FO can see almost the entire map. Once I realized what it was the US artillery became much easier to deal with. (The good news is that in the last battle the Germans get to use that same location) Jyri
  6. I'll second that. The ebb & flow of this battle is amazing. Both charge AND run away were both on my lips throughout the battle. Jyri
  7. You can also avoid going through the bocage/wall in WEGO by timing the blast properly. Simply have it that the blast occur right before the turn ends, then cancel the move when you plot your next turn and the blat team can stay safe. Jyri
  8. Depends on what you have left, but what I used when I played the battle was a "left hook" manuever. I bombarded what I felt were the most likely German positions with my initial artillery strikes & moved along the left side of the map until I got behind the German positions and then took them out from behind. Plus, the reinforcements that came late in the battle made it MUCH easier to finish the battle than I expected. Jyri
  9. Based on my game play, armoured cars (and jeeps/kübelwagens) have NO problem hitting reverse when they see something deadly to themselves. Pumas seem to be less likely to reverse in my experiences, but since they have a good shot of killing US tanks, it's understandable. Jyri
  10. Simple. Don't attack up the main road. I went with a right hook myself and only after flanking the main line of defense did anything come down the road. As to why your attempt along the right failed, without knowing what happened, my generic advice is that while it is important to move quickly, don't rush things either. Jyri
  11. The building falls down, the poster stays in place. Now if there were some other use for this technology... Jyri
  12. The toughest part is getting into "Contents>Reseources>Data" to set up the "z" folder (I created an alias). After that, just add what you want and enjoy. Jyri
  13. Tough, but not impossible. The three PaK, placed properly can still be VERY deadly. That hedgerow "fort" next to the field by the farther of the bridges can cover the road to the city very well with a couple of PaK and/or Pz IVs, making that route very bloody for the US. There being only two locations (the bridges) from which US vehicles can get to you from does make it a little easier to stop the attack even if you are in a weaker state by the last battle since it allows you to pick off the attackers in ones & twos instead of fives & tens. 14. It's in "Out of the Hills", the mission to take the town itself. Jyri
  15. When fighting outside Chérencé-le-Roussel I noticed a gravestone in the middle of the field by the bocage to the SW of the town. Easter egg or just a "trap" for those who feel the need to look at every inch of a game map? Jyri
  16. Since the AI is not very good at shifting forces from quiet sectors to hot sectors, I tend to concentrate my forces against one spot (but not bunched up tight due to the danger of an artillery strike). I then blast through the spot & then roll up the AI position from the flanks & rear. The spot I pick is based on "if I were defending this position where I would set up my forces" and them strike the spot that seems least likely to be strongly held. I also use the pre-games artillery strikes to plaster that zone so if I picked wrong, the forces there aren't at full strength when the fight start. I also look at the map & try to figure out if I were to set up ambush spots, where would they go, so sometimes my first attack plan is set exactly where I would set up an ambush, so then it's time for plan B. Jyri
  17. That depends on the campaign. Not sure about this campaign, but i know that the Road to Mountecourt campaign winning at least one mission makes the nezt mission easier (and you have to win other missions to advance at all). That said, from what I can tell, the biggest effect in Panzers Marsch for the next scenario is your losses will affect what you have available for later missions. Jyri
  18. Out of the oddities in the way terrain is shown this is my favorite. Nothing deadlier than a tree with a gun. Jyri
  19. FWIW I had the same problem. I ended up deleting the game, doing a complete reinstall & then applying only the updated patch & after that vehicles move after restoring a save again. I suspect something in the first patch caused the problem & while the updated patch didn't fix the problem, it didn't have the problem either, so give it a try. Jyri
  20. I decided to delete and reinstall the original game & then do the update. Vehicles are moving after restoration of saved games again. It appears that the first update was what caused the problem and if you installed both versions of the update it didn't clear the movment bug. Jyri
  21. Mine happened at first with a 1.0 saved game, so I decided to start a new game in 1.01 and the vehicles still didn't move. Jyri
  22. I'm running the Mac version & since applying the patch & the follow up patch I've discovered aa ood problem playing WEGO. If I load a saved game file vehicles will no longer move no matter what movemenat command they're given. I noticed it first in an add-on battle, so I decided to try cats chasing dogs (as the Germans), and the same thing happens there. I've tried saving the game, then playing several turns past that point while having movement occur in those turns. Then I quit & go back to the save point, replay the same action & no vehicle movement despite the movement lines showing up each time I choose the unit. Has anyone else had this happen? Jyri
  23. Passive defense IS pretty dull (and against decent enemy troops will get you beaten more often than not). Try playing an active defense. The hammer & anvil method can do wonders in annihilating the enemy. Simply have part of your force keep the attention of the enemy troops while the rest flank them to catch them in a crossfire. Something perversely satisfying in having an OK enemy troop total of 0 at the end of the game. Jyri
  24. While I can't say definitely for the latest version iMacs, I do know that Barefeats.com tested the last generation & found the top of the line quad-core i7 27" to be the most cost effective due to hyperthreading & having the best video card, so I would suspect the same holds true for this generation of iMacs. I ended up getting that model based on the review and haven't had any problems in terms of processor or graphics slowdowns with anything I've thrown at it so far. If you have the money, the quad i7 is well worth the cost. I also second the RAM suggestion. I upped to RAM from 4 Gig to 12 for half the price Apple charged for upping it from 4 to 8. Jyri
