  1. Maybe post the points per objective. So you as the commander can make a decision on which VPs to go after or hold if you are short on combat effective units or running out of time. I hate the "surprise" on the result page Also if the design of a map is made around achieving a goal, don't make a secondary objective more points than the primary.
  2. After crawling up the cliff (as recommend) then sprinting across to cover my men were snookered the whole map. especially the half that immediately went after the batteries near the front. A lot went on that day. lol Nice map. For those that don't like time limits to play a factor, ample is given.
  3. I enjoyed this fictional scenario. I had to employ guerrilla tactics with my AT squads. While my tiger sat over watch drilling tanks and half tracks from long distance.. The amount of enemy coming at you is crazy. So i find it strange so many points are given if they inflict heavy causalities, even if you hold both VPs. I figured it is was a given. the map plays fast.
  4. I was trying to bind that just yesterday. until i saw it wasn't provided. I would greatly appreciate a list of all the commands of the UI. I prefer direct a control scheme
  5. simplicity of stringing commands together.ie specific waypoint path into "deploy weapon" at the end of move. And top it off with a face direction. Before they take the first step.
  6. looks Great. recognized the scenerio before looking at your description
  7. I got plenty of purple hearts and i got a draw Georges d' eile was a quagmire. and on the other side of the map, heavy trench warfare. to top it off both areas have optimal overwatch positions with loooong LOS to call in bombardments that will reach out and TOUCH you. Never got close to Lo-Berigny Rd objective and was puling up to St. Lo when time ran out. Time seems to be a big factor. You cant be too safe. Ya got to get going. this is also a big battle, so you have to have a set it and forget it mentality. Call in a bombardment no time to watch. You got to get back to the other side of the map. they need ya! As you can tell. I play RT, Turn based may be less chaotic. All in all,I like it. It took me out my comfort zone. Multitasking is a must. oh yeah this worked my pc out. It's a hog. it took 3 1/2 min to load alone. one in the game it ran well but on occasion it stuttered.
  8. i ordered mind on day the of release. just got my email today.
  9. any recon on the "backup" lol panzer, nubs? going to find out right now. nice
  10. At the higher resolutions the HUD seems a tad small relative to whats visible on screen. Its large on the lower resolutions. but, it doesn't seem to scale right at the higher resolutions. So i really have to stare to get feedback from the HUD. Can that be easily tweak? meaning just inputting a number to scale it larger. I used vins animated text and that help with that part.
  11. uh oh. a its too hard thread. no spotting rounds =wasted ammo
  12. i agree. the gruesome death of war should come across in scenarios released. for example, l need to assault this position and there is no cover. my men will die. whats the best way to go about getting it done. or just being out gunned but having to come up with new and intuitive ways to over come great odds. History books are lined with outstanding victories that should have not been.
  13. this is why PC games will never die.
  14. i ordered mine on the day of release and haven't got a shipment email yet so presume they are strictly adhering to the first come first serve as they said.
  15. CMSF Strategy and Tactics Forum is a good place to surf And here are pictures and brief explanations. The bocage tutorial i think would help some people here having problems dealing with em http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/forumdisplay.php?161-CM-Battle-for-Normandy-Tactics
  16. sweet campaign description. you got what you got. make it work. Nice old school difficulty. No resting in the corner for your energy to refill before moving on. --------------- for those that don't follow that would be comparing the difficulty of new school FPS to old ones while simultaneously comparing old school 2D wargaming games to a lot of new ones. the rechargeable energy would be the reinforcements. I know.... heavy
  17. small house = more consolidation which = better margins. Don't have to sell that much to turn a profit. People might ask for raises after this one though
  18. i remember playing a demo mission and i had a number of squads up against the bocage laying down heavy fire on the enemy on the road east of my location across the open field. And the AI hit me with a barrage of mortar fire. that taught me to spread my men out in the future real fast. maybe it was the amount of fire coming down on the AI that prompted the ai to use mortar fire in that situation. If you are talking about exploratory bombardment, i haven't seen that.
  19. Realtime play i was playing the mission "raff moves inland" and i was trying to do some advance moves by timing my assault with a mortar barrage of the house to suppress the enemy before my squads got there. Well i put the pause time on my squad, check. mortar barrage location, check. So i went back to my bocage fighting on the other side of the map. I heard the tube going off while i was still messing with the bocage fight. nice! I went back to check my nicely time mortar barrage and assault. To my horror My men were being bomb to kingdom-come in the house. I forgot to that there is a longer wait time before the mortar starts on veteran than on basic training. the pause time i put on my squads wasn't long enough. That wasn't the worst part. the worst part was now knowing its a longer delay on the orders to cancel as well! I sat there and watched too many than i care to remember, more shells drop before it stopped. I then clicked on my squads in the hope of survivors(i know lol). the first all was dead. the 2nd all was dead except the leader. I had an instant flash back to the movie Platoon. I needed Barnes to come smash me in the face with the radio.
  20. i never use slow. seems like moving faster lowers the change of getting getting hit. I scout thoroughly with infantry before i bring the tanks in. the AI is pretty smart. just don't set em up to fail and they will do their job. oh yeah i use hunt
  21. lol. no its when you Don't, you'll be in your underwear.
  22. wait long enough and your girl or wife will leave for work or other activities and then CMBN can have you all to itself. Don't be a plane jane CMBN rewards new creative positions it never seen before in the field.
  23. Most likely, because you ruined my 38th Sir "Post Qualifier". Was a genuine complimentary post. People are not playing the game long enough to know whats a bug or a feature yet. Though they come and post about a "bug", only to later find out it was thought through already and its how its suppose to be. Maybe you are wound up tight because you are a beta tester and I'm only on like you stated my 39th post here. So I'm a let you slide.
