  1. I use Steam for game chat and to see what other friends are playing. When I add Combat Mission to Steam and try to click on the game icon I get an error and the game wont start. Its not a big deal but I thought I would throw that out to the community to see if there is any way to fix that.
  2. I didn't see a hotkey for showing targeting in turn based games. when the action is paused i like to look at the map and get a visual heads up of where my troops are directing fire and where the origin of incoming fire is?
  3. I can not believe how awesome it is. I was so worried about the fundamentals. Playing in real-time will take some getting use to, but turn-based is amazing. I maxed out the graphics and only noticed a little dip in my FPS and only when all hell has broken loose. Cheers friends, this is the only game I will be playing for a long, long, long time.
  4. I consider Battleground to be one of the best war movies from that era. You really got a feel for those soldiers and the troubles they faced. I still think it is a better viewing than Saving Private Ryan.
  5. If you have a discrete graphics card like i have it automatically shuts off the on die cpu graphics. Contrary to what intel wants you to believe the integrated graphics while okay for email and video on youtube is not the best solution for serious graphics intensive games. The gpu on the 2600k will still suck away system memory and be slower. But you should still be able to play CM:BN. I just went nuts on this pc because I wanted to play Total War: Shogun 2 at the highest settings and that GeForce 580 GTX allows me to do that. I paid an arm and a leg for that though. The best deal you can get right now is the GeForce 570 its just a small step down from what I got and its around $350.00. I paid $500 for my 580 GTX.
  6. I Just bought a second generation Core i7 2600k with a GeForce 580GTX and 8 gigs of ram. So it will be interesting to put the new computer through a stress test with CM just to see how far I can push it.
  7. I think the modern setting in SF is what stopped me from Sticking it out to learn the interface. One thing is for certain WWII is where I want my wargames right now. CM is looking good right now.
  8. Something about SF just didn't click for me. One thing I would like to know is if the games quick battles will randomly generate a map or do we only get pre-made ones?
  9. I absolutely love the first games but I need to let them go and get something more modern (Graphically speaking). The videos are all well done and the game looks amazing. I'm a WeGo type of player. Real time don't fit with my tactical play style (sitting at my computer for a half hour trying to figure out how not to die the next turn). I'm gonna buy it. I just needed some encouragement about that interface.
  10. I played the Shock Force demo and didn't like it. I didn't like the real time gameplay and also the interface was a departure from CM1,2,and 3. I always loved the original CMX1 games better. Rough around the edges but enduring. My eyes are set on this new one but am I gonna be disappointed?
