  1. Good news and bad news... Got mine in Toronto Ontario with a $13.50 shipping charge (which is not a problem). Alas, the hinge of the Steelbook is toast. Completely separated - the whole length. Also one clip broken. It's lovely to have the manual, but the box is pretty much unusable. Was shipped via US Priority Mail. If BFC have any thoughts on how I should proceed, please share them. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but mildly disappointing.
  2. I'll be 41 this year, so I guess that makes me what? Mid range? Built Tamiya model tanks as a kid which turned into research which turned into wargaming. I'm probably one of the worst tacticians around (I am incapable of seeing the big picture), but I've enjoyed gaming since being introduced to the Squad Leader boardgame in my early teens. Loved the original CMBO, and am itching for this new version... it almost makes me feel 30 again
  3. Now why does the tutorial's "Moylan Farm" sound so familiar? Nice touch.
  4. What a wonderful surprise! Cool idea too to post the full manual - much much MUCH appreciated!
  5. That latest turn with the tank crew pistol battle (not that such a thing is typical) is exactly what makes this game different than anything else I have played. It really involves you in all of these small little stories taking place across the battlefield in chaotic unscripted glory.
  6. "one of my favorite games was M1 Tank Platoon" - User 38 I'm with you on that one - I spent HOURS playing that game (sometimes head-to-head with a null-modem cable if I recall). The thing that made CMBO stand out for me were the "stories" that took place during the playback reel. All of those wonderful moments when things come together spectacularly, or crumble to bits horrifically. I experienced a lot of the latter. I know a fair bit about WW2 era weapons and battles but I am a terrible tactician. I think one of the things that makes the CM franchise great is that I suck at it but I still love it. Can't wait for Normandy.
  7. This is such good news. I am experiencing a recurrence of all of the giddy feelings I had when anticipating CMBO. So glad that I won't have to bounce with anticipation for too much longer. And a 200 page manual? That would be amazing reading even without the software.
