  1. Ahhh! That seems to have done the trick. Thanks.
  2. I have run into a game-breaking problem in a PBEM I am in as Allies. We are using V. 1.01. I have US Carriers with full air groups near Rabaul as part of my big fleet. The Japanese have just launched a naval attack and there are lots of juicy targets. Two of my four carrier groups are in naval/tactical and the other two are on escort. CAP is set to auto on all of them. A few of the Japanese ships are in rain but the rest, including all of their carriers, are in clear weather. I have the US at air warfare 2 and long range aircraft 1. All of the Japanese are in range. But none of my carriers will attack! My surface units can attack fine. But none of my carriers will target any Japanese! This is the first time in the game I have tried to use the US carriers to attack, so I had not experienced this before. The UK carriers seem to be attacking fine. It is almost as if the US carriers don't recognize the Japanese as enemies. I tried attaching the file but even the .zip file exceeds the file size limit. Maybe I can email it to someone at Battlefront who can look at it?
  3. Just wanted to note the game runs beautifully now. I am not sure if the Hotfix was needed - it turned out my computer was riddled with viruses and I think those messed it up, not the game. I had the machine in repair from Geek Squad for a week and they cleaned it up. That said, I wanted to thank the designer for promptly and politely responding. These are great games.
  4. The thing I can't figure out is, if this is some kind of encryption/anti-virus program compatibility issue, why is it cropping up now with SC WW1 and not with the other SC games I have? I just bought Global Conflict a month ago and have been playing it to death. No problems at all. Now, I buy a brand new game, same company, same game system - and it won't run. None of my computer hardware, software, etc. has changed in that time. But SC Global Conflict runs, while SC WW1 crashes. I am reluctant to go tinkering around with my system, AV, etc., when everything else on my computer runs fine except SC WW1.
  5. I am having the exact same problem. I got it licensed but the game crashes before I even get it open - I get the message that the program has stopped running. I did not have Kaspersky toolbar installed, but went ahead and also turned Kaspersky off completely just to be sure. No dice. The game will simply not run. I have tried starting it in various compatibility modes (e.g. Windows XP, Vista, etc.) and nothing seems to work. I have Strategic Command Global Conflict installed and it runs perfectly. WW1 is the first time I have had a problem.
