  1. Oh damn, that's a shame. For anyone who hasn't seen it, he sat down for two 40-minute-long videos with the Aircrew Interview channel on YouTube last year. Worth a watch.
  2. Wow, thanks for sharing. That's a crazy juxtaposition. Sure fooled me. This makes me appreciate the work done by Oryx and the rest of the OSINT community that much more, to say nothing of the professionals.
  3. Hey man, sorry for the late response; been busy finishing up the school year and haven't played GHPC much - or at all, actually. And much of my free time was spent reading the big thread. Thanks for the tip about the T-34; I've got the whole summer off and am looking to put a lot of time into the game. Including using the T-34 hack you've described! And looking forward to all the other stuff you've described. I read your post a while back but didn't have time to reply. Upon re-reading, I'm pumped about the T-80! I missed you mentioning that the first time I read. There's just something about the Soviet tanks that I find so intriguing. I finally got to play GHPC again with the most recent updates (including one yesterday or today?) Gosh, it's an awesome game, and I like how it provides something different from CM. I like that there aren't going to be interiors. To me, this reminds me a bit of the light flight sim "Strike Fighters." I loved that series, and it helped me scratch the flight sim bug until I got older and could afford - thankfully - a better PC to run DCS and the many BMS iterations. GHPC plans just seem right. Got smoked in a Bradley by a couple of Sagger missiles fired by Hinds in one of the new missions - "Crossroad Screen" I think it was - this evening. Could've used those smoke dischargers you mentioned! I'm sure you saw it - heck, you might have even watched it live - but the team released another developer stream the other day. I watched a few minutes of it before I jumped into the game again. Always good when the developers start the stream by saying, "We have been busy. Very busy." I know about you mean about Battlefront vibes. Awesome. Off to watch the rest of the steam and to try out "Silver Dart." Thanks for the tip! Definitely interested if you've found out more/find out more in the future. I'll keep on eye on this thread.
  4. Oh, can't wait for multiplayer and new armor (T-62, Leo 1, etc.). Certainly does; small team, they have a grip on what they're doing...it's awesome so far. Plus, all the stuff - fire and maneuver, using terrain, spotting, smoke, the list goes on - I've learned from playing CM over the years is instantly applicable to their environment. Good call!
  5. This! I too find the ability to port the maps and use the modern-ish (re: CMCW - although look at what the Russians are allegedly rolling out now...) and modern (CMBS) TO&E on said maps absolutely fascinating. The series, in general, is really hard to describe to those who haven't taken the plunge. I've tried ha!
  6. Ah, I see what you mean! I've gotta pay better attention to the details ha ha. Thanks for the clarification and sorry for the confusion. And thanks for all your contributions!
  7. The Warzone has a more complete picture of the action involving the YPRs shown in this clip. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraine-situation-report-armored-personnel-carriers-make-a-charge-in-bakhmut Interestingly, the clips that @Haiduk posted yesterday afternoon of destroyed YRPs are apparently from this attack. Overall, this thread continues to amaze me as the rest of the article touches on many of the things discussed here over the last 12 to 24 hours. Minus the insight, of course. *Hope it's cool to link to the Warzone; been following this thread since the first post by @Probus, and I'd hate to commit a faux pas as I don't recall much linked from said site.
  8. Geez. Heck of a juxtaposition, Steve. Legit got chills.
  9. @BornGinger Do you have the ability to invest in a gaming laptop? Without sounding flippant, I'm in New England (USA) and the cost of everything has increased significantly, if not as much as in the UK. It's been a hot and humid summer and running the A/C has cost us a lot of money. Thankfully I purchased a Lenovo gaming laptop a few months ago - under the guise of needing it for work - with a laptop RTX 3050 graphics card that absolutely crushes all CMx2 games. Battery life is 2-3 hours if I don't have things running in the background. It's a significant upfront cost but I see myself having this device for a long time, given the longevity of Battlefront games and it of course it runs the random stuff that I need for work as teacher. Full disclosure, I have a much more beefier rig for sims DCS/IL-2 Great Battles so my laptop is pretty much solely for Combat Mission so I use electricity besides the laptop so its not a panacea.
  10. Funny, I just today, in an effort to be a bit more realistic, I swapped out the Oplots for the more ubiquitous T-64bvs in the "Dueling Shashkas" scenario. I originally was going to use Bulats but decided against it as I hadn't seen any in the conflict as yet. Good catch! Bulats here I come! In the original play through this morning, even switched the leadership, morale, and fitness of the Russians to be a bit more - ahem - appropriate. Ha, still got smoked.
  11. This is great. I never noticed the storage boxes on British Shermans but now I can't unsee them. Just adds another little detail that I didn't even know that I needed. Thanks!
  12. Great video. Just played this scenario again tonight. Have actually played this a half dozen times or so, with sufficient enough time in between each battle that I forget my approach from the previous playthrough. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I can say that those landmines between the ambush site and the three story building get me every. single. time. As Pandur mentioned, I am used to whipping the Syrians with the US Army or USMC. This was a nice change of pace. And seems like a good tune up for forth coming CMCW, in which the US won't be so dominate.
  13. Well done! I love the improved main gun muzzle blast. I commented aloud, "oh wow, that looks like the real thing" after seeing it in game. My wife overheard me, asked me why I am talking to myself, and rolled her eyes when I told her the reason. This tends to happen a lot when playing CM. A true mark of a job well done. Thanks for your contribution!
  14. Admittedly, I'm a BFC forum lurker and always have questions but neglect to ask. Must say old boy that you nailed these two. Thought both you and Bil were doing something to enable those black squares and was super curious about the size of the Panzerfaust 3. Thanks to the both of you for demonstrating the new features; I cannot wait to get my hands on my own copy.
  15. There's just something about colored icons that really adds to the game. Great work!
  16. Hey Stagler, awesome uniforms. I have been playing around with them a bit and decided to use your uniforms but keep the default helmet. It could just be me but I have found that your uniforms contrast nicely with the Russian gear and the default helmets, as the camo patterns are similar. Well done!
  17. Jorge, I have used bits of your previous sound mods; I must say that your new MG 42 is the best yet. Kudos!
