  1. ...because we will never see the Spanish Civil War and many other interesting situations that are equally suited to this great game system. Orwell, Hemingway and the rest are eternally disappointed!
  2. I just think it's a great shame Battlefront decided to knock total conversion mods on the head. As well as some of the those already mentioned, the Spanish Civil War would make a great game ideally suited to the CM model.
  3. As someone who made a pre v2.0 helmet net mod for the Mk II ( http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2199 ) I can only agree that the model doesn't look very good and foliage textures don't really solve things as real foliage broke up the 3D shape considerably as can be seen in period photos and newsreel... Always feel the Commonwealth lads get treated a bit like poor cousins; the new "Appearance" options in the v2 editor include the obligatory fancy German alternatives, a couple of US airborne and...absolutely zilch for the CW.
  4. Sorry if I've misunderstood - surely the Marder I included in the Commonwealth pack is one of these Becker conversions (aka a 7.5cm s.Pak Sfl. auf Lorraine-Schlepper)??
  5. Absolutely correct, Fernando - uniquely all battalions of both PzGren Lehr regiments 901 and 902 were mounted in SPWs during the Normandy campaign so qualified for the M1940 special field-grey uniform (the "panzer-wrap"). However in other Heer panzer divisions I think it was only the first battalion of the first panzergrenadier regiment that was mounted in SPWs - so only one for the whole division. The rest were motorised in softkskin trucks and Krupp Protz. This is the 116 PzDiv (greyhound badge on cap). Logically the central figure may be from the 1st battalion, 60 PzGren regiment...
  6. Somewhat related to the poster's original comment about the lack of firepower in CW sections; CM2 has stuck strictly to the regulation load-out. However according to "The World War 2 Tommy" by Martin Brayley and Richard Ingram; "By 1944 Sten guns were in plentiful supply and privates might acquire them or be issued with them for some tasks, such as patrols or street fighting..." Might be wrong but I seem to remember CMBO1 reflected this "in-the-field" situation more.
  7. Nice list of vehicles in the preliminary list including the much-requested-back-in-the-day Marder 1 - Yay! http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=289&Itemid=490 Also hope the AEC MkIII armoured car makes it into the final mix (it being the best a/c of the time - sorry Puma fans ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEC_Armoured_Car Edit: *Commonwealth
  8. Nice models! Just a cosmetic thing perhaps but I do think the uniforms look a bit 1940/Hollywood what with the jackboots and all. By 1944 laced ankle boots with web anklets were firmly in use in the front-line German army. Here's how I see the Heer from Normandy onwards: http://img218.imageshack.us/i/post51084308869.jpg Cheers, D
