Combat in woods - clip from TV series
A Canadian Cat replied to George MC's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Yeah it's hard. Especially for us older guys -
Romeo, oh Romeo, wherefore art.... BAM! LOL - thanks for that laugh this morning guys. No doubt I'll be thinking about that every time I see my guys on a balcony in game from now on...

Conditions would be nice, I agree. Perhaps some day but they would raise the complexity of development, UI and testing. Meaning it would be a lot of work. As for relative time, yes that would be great too. There is a workaround that you might find helpful: set clock times in the past (usually I just set the time to 0:00). That way when the unit gets to the end of their order the time is up and they will begin executing the next one. It does not allow pauses but it does get the orders executes once the trigger is triggered.

Black Sea/Modern Map and Terrain Wishlist
A Canadian Cat replied to Freyberg's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
@Freyberg I like that list +1. Garages, chain link fences and fire escapes, good call. Also, please consider adding your maps to the scenario Depot, they accept just maps. -
Yes, there are no hard limits. But more stuff and more directories does mean more work - at some point it could become and issue. Having said that I have a lot of sub folders and sub sub folders. I work with top level folders for vehicles, uniforms, UI etc. under each is a separate folder for each mod. Many of those have a sub folder or two inside them as well. It is pretty clear that most people are no where near any limiting factor on number and nesting of folders. A number of years ago a few of us tested the impact on load performance with mods. Short version there was very little impact. You can see the discussion here:

Little glitches/observations/suggestions
A Canadian Cat replied to Drifter Man's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
This has been a good thread though. Too frequently people rant and rave about some pet issue that they think means the game is broken and refuse to listen to other peoples opinions and those of us that chime in get called names and the poster gets called names and in the end no one leaves happy. This thread and the other one have been interesting and informative and for the most part the usual suspects have either stayed away or been, mostly, ignored. -
Combat Mission: Pacific Storm
A Canadian Cat replied to Ridaz's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Yes, please! Hummm. Perhaps we should pitch an idea to create a CM game that combines the late ware CMFB, and CMRT forces into a new game family. Once the end of the war module of CMRT and Commonwealth module for CMFB are done all the units will be there with the appropriate TO&E. -
Whoa guys - the parties in that discussion already agreed to drop it. No need to re-remind everyone again or get upset about that re-reminding. Let's just let it go. And before anyone mentions it, this did not start with something that @Combatintman said it what that guy @LUCASWILLEN05 - who you are right has done that kind of thing before. This is another example of where using the forum feature of ignoring troublesome people is valuable. If we all ignored @LUCASWILLEN05 then no one would have noticed his inciting comment and this thread would still be on topic and a page shorter.

Humm I thought he covered everything. There is a CMFI GL mod for the IV. Not sure if that will look right for CMBN or not: http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=1891

Yes, that sill works as expected.

CMBN weapons effect tests
A Canadian Cat replied to Drifter Man's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Probably. Sometimes I just get a little frustrated with people poo pooing on good and interesting investigations saying it is a waste of time because their pet peeve is more important. Sigh. I have people like that on my ignore list so I don't get annoyed I do have to admit that occasionally reading Thier defence that they are the victims of what they do themselves. That is kinda funny. Anyway I am hoping this stays on topic because what @Drifter Man is doing is interesting. -
CMBN weapons effect tests
A Canadian Cat replied to Drifter Man's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Oh man. What @Drifter Man has done is well put together and a good analysis. Let's not spend any more time talking about the silly opinions of erwin. It you look back at his posts you will see him complain bitterly over other things that *he* thinks are wrong with the game. That and a flip flop back and forth on issues too. Just ignore him. -
Wow, I never really paid much attention to that. I have no idea, other than it was my old computer with my old graphics card. I.e. just a bit better than crappy.

Chip Flaws: in case you missed this

Yikes I'll hold off a bit then - let you guys work out the kinks :-) -
OK found it. Around page 6 I start talking about the trouble I am having dealing with Churchill tanks: This video shows the uber Churchill shrugging off 22 hits (or at leas some of the 22):

CMBN weapons effect tests

+1 to that. Don't listen to the glass half empty, sky is falling or world is coming to an end crowd. Most of us *do* want to see things get better / fixed. -
I cannot recall. I'll find the link once I am back to a real computer.
