  1. I would still like to see some way of watching a battle play back but able to see both sides. Like a cinematic mode. Even just something to make each minute from a turn based game play in sequence would be okay.
  2. Personally, I think this game could be hugely improved if it allowed some way of saving and replaying a battle with units from both sides visible. I can't see how it would be so difficult as I am already able to save every minute of a turn game and then play them back. I'd just like to have them all joined up for watching the battle unfold in it's entirety (and with the enemy revealed throughout).
  3. I know you can recrew a tank but you can't put a crew in a different tank. E.g. Tank 1 is abandoned and the crew killed, Tank 2 is knocked out but the crew is still active. Why can't Crew 2 get in Tank 1? Even when tanks 1 and 2 are the same model. Or can you do this and I've just been doing it wrong?
  4. I have always had problems with spotters too. It seems very hard to get them in a forward position where they can see the enemy without being seen themselves. I move them forward on slow and keep them 'hidden' but I have been wondering if a hidden unit is less able to spot than one that is not hidden? If so, maybe a small target arc is a better choice?
  5. I'm no programmer so I may be (and accept that I very much likely will be) well off the mark here but I would have thought it would be quite an easy addition to the game as each minute-by-minute is already being calculated and implemented (I play mostly turn based). What happens to that replay when you go into the next order phase? Why can't it just be saved somewhere? The only real change I would like to see in addition to that is that the hidden units and events are all on display.
  6. Hmm... see what you mean. But Company of Heroes have a cinematic replay + save option. Is it a lot different from how it would work on that game?
  7. I have been wondering if there is any way of showing a replay of the battle I have just played? When a battle is over I would really like to be able to watch a replay of the whole thing but with all units visible so I can see how it panned out 'as it happened' from a spectator's point of view, enjoying the action and close ups of the units instead of having to concentrate on winning. It's no different really to the 1min of action for each turn on the turn based game but without the breaks for issuing orders. If I can't do this already, would it be so difficult to add?
  8. Ok, its working, thanks to the guy that was helping Para out ;-) It seems the game is telling us to give out our local IP when we should have been using external IP.
  9. Thanks for your help. Made some adjustments and checked with the port checker - it says it is open and pinged successfully. Still getting stuck on 'connecting' though?? portforward.com explains how to create a static IP - which we both did - but that includes making up an IP that is similar to the router's IP. Have I understood this right - the router's IP is the one you use in the browser URL to access the settings. And it is this made up static IP that I put into the virtual server settings for the router? This is doing my head in :-/ ...and is the external IP of any relevance? Because that's not the IP I'm told to give to my opponent in the game.
  10. Seem to have a problem connecting. Seems to be hanging on 'waiting for connection' and 'connecting'. We've both tried hosting and double checked we have passed on correct IP and port. We have both disabled our firewalls but still get the same issue. Anyone any ideas please?
  11. re. the Hull down positioning of the tanks... how do you manouver the tanks into that position? Do you just have to estimate where they must stop so they can see over the brow of the hill? Or do you have to shuffle them back and forward a bit til they are right?
  12. Aye, thanks very much Mark for your time setting it all up, making the coffee and putting up with the Chuckle Brothers for 4 hours! It was good fun - and the game's looking great!
  13. Hi. Just saying hello. I'll be there with Para and he's forwarded your email onto me. Looking forward to it.
