The rumour mill could be used to power the first working perpetual motion machine.

Will such performance enhancing mods be banned in competitive play?

I have a vague memory imprint of Steve stating that it's abstracted means of communication. Carrier pigeons, runners, wire, signal smoke, astral projection and such.
Radios make the process much faster and efficient.

I wonder who is attacking who.

Sneeze at the wrong time and things like this happen. It will likely be back in the next patch.
-
Did you actually play the game?
-
AFAIK, it has usually been a matter of a few hours before the downloads open for everyone.

Different tastes. In my opinion it is one of the best new features, helps keeping track of the status of your squads.

This thread needs more phallic ISU porn.
I'd post some but the fact that they're old beta shots and taken on a even older compuutor means they look like the poo.

I do wonder if after the novelty wears off anyone will notice the decals. I hope BF didn't sacrifice anything else useful for them.
They will blend in with all the other features in the game to form a cohesive whole. Just as has happened before. Going back to CMSF 1.0 gives good perspective on the stuff that has been added to CMx2 over the years.
Dynamic campaign, cooperative play and playback for TCP/IP WEGO had to be cut in order for decals to be perfected, but I think this is an acceptable compromise.

Enjoy your transfer to the East.

Going through the standard hoops and loops is not exactly unforeseen.
It's just routinely holding up the release.

Monogamy is unnatural. As long as one still has sexual capital, hedge those bets.

While a game about the Space Lobsters of Doom attacking Earth in search of delicacies and slaves might just be the greatest thing ever, the BFC hypothetical scenario curse has me worried.

I wish they would have played like that yesterday.
Teemu rules. I think it was a bit unnecessary to crush the yankees like that.

I managed a Total Victory on my first try. Careful approach, spreading the men so they are not in easily frightened stacks and then expending liberal amounts of ammo area firing any known and suspected enemy position.
Lost 31 KIA 46 WIA.

SPOILER szene from the movie:
Well that was truly, suberbly and spectacularly craptastic. I guess all the money went into the effects so there was nothing left to spend on a script, a director, actors and sound design.
Brave comrades don't mind being set on fire at all and he fascists don't seem to remember they are supposed to pull the trigger. It's like the director has watched nothing but video game cutscenes and trailers and went on that.
The effects look mostly like lifeless plastic. Running out of toilet paper is more dramatic and emotionally impactful than this.
Signs of the times, movies like this. All eyecandy, no substance.

By the way, has anybody ever seen a vehicle being taken out by a ricochet in CM?
Best regards,
Thomm
In CMSF, Red vs. Red, T-55s/T-62s duking it out, ricochet took out another tank by penetrating the turret side maybe 20-50 meters away from the original target.
Perhaps slightly unlikely to have a penetrator rod not bend or break and carry enough energy to go through but hey it wasn't my tank so I'm not complaining.

I've heard rumours that there's going to be tanks, there's going to be shooting and then there's going to be stuff blowing up!
All in 3d! None of that text-adventure stuff, no sir.

"can ceasefire at any time without consequence providing you hit the targets " ------Could you clarify/explain/example---- of this for my education in playing this great game !!! Thank you.
I'm not him but I assume he means that after you control your objectives you can ceasefire when you want and be awarded a win.

I was winning about 50% of the missions until I got to Bloody Aalst. Great mission but has anybody managed a win yet? You have to fight for every inch. It's crazy and costly. Just wondering if this one is winnable - will have to ask PT.
It is winnable. But it is a hard and bloody grind, hence the name. Don't feel bad if you don't win it.

Hello, always fun to see a familiar face! (or a nickname in this case)
http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_versions&Itemid=317#Combat Mission: Shock Force (PC)
Working download mirrors for all the patches should be found in the link above, install 1.21 -> 1.31 -> 1.32 and you ought to be set, although it has been a long time since I've installed CMSF having lost my key and executables to the sands of time.
Atleast back then a single CMSF key could be used on two computers simultaneously, although I'm unsure whether it will use the license two times but then they can also be unlicensed. This was my golden standard for wooing fresh blood into the wonderful world of CMx2.
I hope you get it to work smoothly. Happy father-son times!

There are any of a number of companies (including Apple itself) that will change an iPhone/iPad/Mac Laptop battery for you. Here in NYC, I can drop off a Mac Laptop at the Apple Store, or Datavision or any of a number of similar stores, and pick it up a few hours later with a completely fresh battery installed. There are mail-order services that turn around in a few days as well.
It is true that this is more expensive than just buying a new battery and dropping it in yourself because you have to pay for the labor, but it's still a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a completely new device.
Well that's good to hear. Things were a bit different some time ago when I had my go at Apple stuff.
It's rarely a good idea to act on outdated intel, especially when it comes to tech.
Effectiveness of flamethrowers against tanks
in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Posted
This was debated back and forth. There doesn't seem to be very much material on the topic of flamethrowers vs. tanks.
Anyway, tanks aren't 100% immune to FTs. Especially open-topped ones. Atleast they shouldn't be unless something is borked.
