  1. 2/16/40 Playing as Allies vs Axis AI and Russia joins allies. I forget, is there an Axis AI? Thanks
  2. CTA scenario Breakthrough version New to this WW1 game looking for another Rookie to have good game Will play either side or mirror Turn rate may be slow, one turn per every 2-3 days (real life keeps me busy) PM me if interested.
  3. Just kept getting the message Czech Surrenders but it never became German territory. Don't remember if a decision triggered it, but it started poping up four turns in a row so I simply declared war, fought for two weeks, captured the capital, and this time they really did surrender and become part of German territory.
  4. Played one year so not quite to Poland yet, and may be awhile before I get further into the campaign. I remember trying the campaign in Global War and enjoying the options to focus on building Germany for WWII. Regards the Breakthrough Version (and assuming I installed all the files correctly: The MAP is very detailed and the scale is enjoyable. All the decision events are GREAT - particularly the maps and pictures. Brings the events to life, so to speak. The turns work well, weekly in summer and two weeks spring and fall, but I wonder how the Russian War will feel, when the Russian used the Winter to launch their major campaigns. Of note - I had trouble with the Czechoslovakia decision - for four turns in row it said Czech surrenders but they were not absorbed by Germany. Finally I just declared war and had a nice small campaign eliminating their army. Again, thanks for the effort you put into this campaign.
  5. POP - the sound of my bubble bursting as I was silently supporting the Entente up to now.
  6. I would vote for WW3 around 1980 but maybe a Calm Before the Storm type build up giving Nato and WP the chance to pre-build their armed forces to their own liking (i.e. Soviet Union could decide to add more carriers or surface ships vs land vs air). Then have the spark that ignites the conflict randomly generated so neither side know exactly which month year the conflict will start. It would be nice for the game to shift to a weekly time scale once hostilities commence but I'm just brainstorming here. Also - it would be a challenge to model the electronic portion war. ECM, Awacs, heat seeking missiles vs radar, and chemical warfare. Still - something resembling Tom Clancy's "Red Storm Rising" would have appeal - but how to do that in SC3 - that is the challenge. --------------- After that - I was thinking of SC Global War (the World War One game) would start to look interesting set in the American Civil War. Infantry, cavalry, artillery, balloons, etc.
  7. I passed on this game twice but reading the forum was convinced to give it a try. I was very pleased with the scenario Race to the Sea. I imagined a long stagnant line of attrition type battles. Instead, there was considerable room to manuver and strategies to try. I am now playing my first GC as the CP, and again the strategic options are considerable. The East Front has many gaps and I am perpetually starved for MPP's which means I cannot do everything I want. That alone adds so much replay value. Throw in the Ottamans, Middle East, Balkans and areas to manuver are plentiful. The West Front does seem a bit stagnant but I am only up to August 1916 and have not been very agressive there. I also like the naval war. Again not enough Mpp's to due everything. The expansion is due out soon (Oct 1) and will only add depth to a very polished product. I wish I had more time to play PBEM but need to wait until I learn some more. Hope the above helps your decision.
  8. The map does look interesting, but for me, until I actually start pushing units around I can't say for sure.
  9. Thanks. Obviously looks different than the lend lease to Russia and England but I understand now.
  10. Playing a PBEM game and I choose USA Lend Lease to China 30 mpps and Britain Burma Road (still open) 75 mpps. I see the deduction from US and Britain but I don't see the corresponding increase to China. Should I?
  11. Nupremal Mod V 1.14 SCGlobal V 1.03 Can do about 4-5 turns a week. Played one PBEM so far SCGlobal Vanilla. I am an average player in need of more experience. PM me if interested.
  12. I know this is a controversial topic but I wanted to share my experience in three games. In two games as the Allies against the AI Axis (both mods - Third Reich and World in Flames) Germany had Level 5 tanks in 1942. In my current PBEM Vanilla 1939 scenario game the the Germans also have level 5 tanks in May 1942 and the Russians have level 4 tanks. I know three games may not be statistically significant, and research is highly variable, but is anyone else seeing this? Thanks, Comsolut
  13. Couple of questions/issues. December 1940 and the US is not producing (or very little, like 20 MPP per turn) so China cannot replace losses. Russia has joined the Allies and up to 90% production - I believe because Japan is not garrisoning Manchuria (I keep getting the messages, even though I am playing as the allies, that the cities in Manchuria need garrisons). Also Chinese Partisans are taking back cities in China that have been left without garrisons. On the other hand with +.5 exp the Axis rolled through Poland in two turns and without replacements the Japanese are making quick headway in China.
  14. Will try the next version when it becomes available. Thanks for the changes, because the other was definitely a major game issue.
  15. Yes - I think having it show in game is better than notes. I have changed my mind and think your idea is better.
  16. I don't mind the hit to the USA, but just one time (even if a 50% hit). I don't like the Neutral idea. Whatever I did causes the script to activate each turn and keeps the US EUR at 1%. On the other hand the Neutral idea has the in game (instead of in the notes) benefit of alerting the player before he takes the step that will impact USA leaning - hmmm.
  17. Yes. AI + .5 Exp. (99% certain, any way I can recheck in game?) In regards the reinforce pacific reduces tension - This keeps repeating each turn. Maybe make it a one time hit of 25 or 50%. US EUR all the way to 1% Allies and since China gets supply from the US pool, China has no supply to even make up losses now, where as some other mods treat china as a separate entity. Also Germany declared war on Russia July 1 1942 and the German and Russian units affected by Russian Winter popped up. No units were actually damaged, but it seemed odd for the message to pop up given it was late June early July. Again, not being critical and I wish I had better case by case evidence of the AI defects, maybe as time goes by. Just my observations comparing this mod AI to the other mods AI - has a weaker feel. Wish I could be more specific.
  18. Thanks for the quick reply. It has been an odd game. But first things first. It took the AI too long to take both Poland and France (Maybe an extra 6 weeks in both cases - I think Poland made it to Early November). Sorry, no specifics as I am just trying out all the mods, both for variety and to see which one I enjoy the most. Therefore I was just playing and not taking notes. In China, the Japanese are making no headway and the attacks seem to lack direction. However, to the the reinforcement issue, the US is now at 0% and production has dried up and the Chinese cannot sustain any losses and units are just withering away. Also a German Sub seems to be stuck in a French Port and not attempting to interdict convoy lanes in the North Atlantic, although it is understrength. Must also be a Malta push because the AI keeps sending amphib units to Malta but the British Fleets stationed there are sending them all to the Davy Jones locker (one at a time). Why the reinforcements to the Pacific. Well Germany after taking France settled down to prepare for Sealion (no attack on Russia) so England has more MPP's than they know what to do with so I started building up India, Australia, and New Zealand's armies. I did not move any reinforcements to the region, simply starting building up the national armies in the region. The US in fact only has one BB on the West Coast. It is late Spring 1942 and Japan never opted for Pearl Harbor. So basically it is England and China versus Germany, Italy and Japan. Germany did take Yugo and Greece, and made some noise in Africa but again the AI just sent one unit at a time to be slaughtered. Russia is up to 90% and almost completely built up and so I am waiting for their entry to tip the tide in Europe. Asia, well if the US never joins I am not sure what will happen there. As to German production, since I am playing the Allies I can't really comment at this stage. Since I am open minded and willing to just enjoy the game experience, it is a surprisingly fresh game with its own challenges (like no US). But the AI, compared to other Mods, seems to send units in one at a time which makes it weak. If you need a save, I can send one. Just PM me your email. Hope the comments assist you in continuing to refine the Mod. Again, I think the reactive strategies are a great idea, just need to work the AI up to the standards of the other Mods. Comsolut
