  1. As a new player of TOW2 and an old player of CM, I was interested to see how many iterations the game had gone through over the past 10 years. I purchased TOW2 Africa and was horrified by the general packaging of the game. As it seems that this is the only simulation/strategy game around, I hope investing my time is worth it. In order for the game to function properly under windows 7 I recommend the following. Load Windows Explorer as administrator. Don't hit Windows+E or choose one of the "My Computer" menus in the Start menu. You need to find Windows Explorer in the accessories menu and right click on it and select run as administrator. Locate the install directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefront" Right click on "Theatre of War 2" and select options. Select the Security tab and give every User listed "Full control" Hit apply. Make sure you select the option that says to apply the change to this folder and all folders and files contained. Go back to the first tab and de-select read only and hit apply. This will allow you to actually have your campaign games be saved, options remembered, and other useful things. Now on to the meat. That tutorial is worse than pathetic. Do you really think people will drop 40 or 50 bucks when that is their first exposure to the game? I am not just talking about just the devs but the players too. I searched all over the forums for information on the game and all I ran into was some feeble, "which is the best scenario" chatter and a couple "Don't buy this game" posts. If you want this unique game to continue you will have to do better. Start by posting suggestions and spending some time troubleshooting and then post your answers. Emmentaler Please post!!!! Just fixing the tutorial will boost sales, but you might want to look at steam as well, otherwise, you need to encourage a grass roots/player directed development cycle.
