  1. OK, after reading a shed load of posts in relation to import tax & charges one of the posts suggested checking online to see what you might get charged.

    So I did

I have been to HM revenue and customs website

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/post/internet.htm#1

    I saw this

Goods ordered online from outside the EU

If you buy goods online from outside the EU for delivery to the UK, you'll have to pay Customs Duty and Import VAT on top of the purchase price if the goods are above a certain value - though Customs Duty is waived if the amount of duty payable is £9 or less.

You can find out which types of goods you have to pay tax and/or duty on in our guide below. It depends on what they are, their value and where they're from.

    All other goods

If you order or send purchased goods other than alcohol, tobacco, perfume and toilet water from a country outside the EU then you:

•don't have to pay Excise Duty

•may have to pay Customs Duty on goods with a value that exceeds £135

•will have to pay Import VAT on goods with a value that exceeds £18

Note that on all goods from outside the EU, Customs Duty is waived if the amount of duty calculated is £9 or under.

My shoddy maths make me think $60 is roughly £36-£37 which at 20% VAT would be £7.40 just below the waiver figure. Fingers crossed

    Post office site states

Letters or parcels from abroad sometimes have a Customs charge – for example VAT, or fees for tobacco or alcohol. Occasionally there’s an £8 handling charge.

So Im going to be a ' my glass is half full ' person on this.

    Hope this info is

    A) Correct

    B) Useful

    c) isnt misleading

  2. A quick question which I may have missed, does BF send via a courier to the uk or by normal post? In the past I have received normal post avoiding the costs and via courier such as dhl, the couriers have always (as u would expect) had to pass on the extra tax/cost. With the post I might just win the lottery .

One other question, did I read that the plan is for the modules to be shipped within the eu for international orders or am I wishful thinking, this has a bearing on canceling and going to download for me.

  4. As a customer outside the US, it is up to you to get all and any information about shipping and/or customs fees for the steel box or any other product you buy from outside the EU.

It is hardly fair to be upset at Battlefront over any fees in other countries outside the US.

Im afraid it is fair to be upset with battlefront. They clearly had an option to dispatch from within the EU and have done so before. Why would we think they wouldnt this time. They have had our money for a month and then on the eve of the release make it plain ie not just inside the small print - that it will be shipped from US with possible extra charges . Very Poor. No more pre-ordering for me.

  5. I noticed the Steel Books are low in stock and it has been annouced that

A note/reminder to our international customers: ALL Steelbook[TM] editions are being sent from our main US location. The remaining stock is too low to warrant a transfer to our European warehouse. This means that international customers may have to pay additional import VAT, customs fees and/or duties, depending on your country's regulations

now does this mean that NEW international pre-orders made after this announcement will be despatched from US or ALL international orders already received?

    it does state

The remaining stock is too low to warrant a transfer to our European warehouse

It's just not clear to me and I'll be mightly disappointed if I have to add another 20% to the price.

That aside I havent been this excited since forever (over this release ;)) and my extreme patience - I have followed this website religiouslyfor years - has all but given up on me! Put us out of our misery please im begging.
