Just looking for a reason to buy it, Hubert. In the Gold editor I saw about 22 possible unit types to create. And in the purchase unit screenshot for AoC about 23 units. Hence, my question about 10 additional units. I know it's a really bad time to quit the series, so I will probably give in as usual! Also, I am talking about the newly released AoC, so I'm in the wrong forum.

If the 10 "new" units in AoC were added to the existing list from Gold, instead of just changed around, I might have went for it. The AI changes are also tempting. But the investment I've made since the first SC1 (including WWI) is staggering. TBH, I don't think I can stand looking at those same units and basic map and combat resolution again. I know the under-the-hood changes are many. The AG article on the AI was the best I ever read. But I need more chrome so I feel like I'm playing a different game. More counter and sound options, you know... As a first time Gold series buyer, it's a no brainer. But for me, it has to end somewhere. At the least, buyers of every game from SC1 should get a discount. My $25 will still go to BF, but for a different expansion

Lets hear about the greatest tactical game ever
Rosseau replied to slysniper's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
SSI's Kampgruppe for C-64 got me pretty excited in the day. But yes, CMx2 is the best right now. -
Thank you for the insights on the game. CMA does have a certain, special feel to it. Currently reading The Hidden War by Artyom Borovik. Well worth the $5 used at Amazon.

Single player , turn based or real time?
Rosseau replied to evo6tme's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Great question. Ironically, I tried RT for the first time ever (in CMA) a few nights ago. Ever since CMSF, always turn-based. My gut feeling was real time was less realistic Also, (RT) felt more like an arcade experience. -
That is very helpful advice. I really need to watch supply and readiness. Thanks again.

I have a bad habit of reinforcing units to the max when I can afford it, and taking the experience hit. Does anyone have any advice on when to reinforce and how much? Any insights would be appreciated!

A long, long time ago I buy CMSF and all the expansions. BF was spot-on with the Syrians in RL, but I always hated playing with or against them. Nato/WP was the dream. Then out of nowhere comes this incredible mod easily worth $30 if BF was selling it. It installs and seems to work like a dream out of the box. I am in awe.

The pricing strategy is interesting but not ethical
Rosseau replied to togi's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Thanks guys. I already have CMFI, so think I can wait until MG for those perks. But I will buy MG. In fact, by that time there will probably be even more enhancements to the 2.0 engine. -

So whatever the cost of the MG module is, just add $10 to it. Or pay your $10 now and enjoy CMBN with the enhancements. Does anyone have a quick link to exactly what 2.0 will bring to the table for CBMN? Thanks. -
I am usually quick to jump in, but am torn on this one. I have CMBN set up just the way I like it mod-wise, and hate to mess with it. When the MG bundle comes out, that would be a must-buy content-wise.

SC WW1 Newbie Question
Rosseau replied to AngryDJS's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
I have sort of a newbie question: What is the patch strategy for SCWWI versus Breakthrough? Does the new 1.07 for the main game affect or enhance Breakthrough, or will there be separate patches for the expansion. Which is most "up-to-date", if there is such a thing. Thanks for the help! -
Information for New Players
Rosseau replied to Bill101's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
After struggling through TOAW III, I am glad there are still games that are relatively "pick up and play." Thanks. -
What do you edit?
Rosseau replied to crispy131313's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
Surprises are nice, and tough battles vs. the AI - historical or not. I haven't played WW2 yet, however. Thanks! -
I found out it only happens with the 3D counters, so I am good! Glad to see the series progressing, and thanks for your quick response.

I have all the SC games, but a while since I played Pacific. My computer shut down Windows (blue screen) with the following error when I was loading a new scenario (right around calculating supply). However, I have not changed video card or hardware since last playing it. Thanks! STOP 0x0000008E atikvmg.dll Address BF16CBFA base at BF13A000 I have the exception trace if you need that too. errorlog.txt

Conrath's Counterattack - SPOILERS
Rosseau replied to Erwin's topic in CM Fortress Italy Maps and Mods
+1 Could anyone link me to the campaign editing process? thanks -
Playing Honcho's WWII mod as Axis and left Rome without a unit. Next turn (12/39) France hits the Italian beaches and knocks Italy out of the war. Now that is a nice bit of AI programming... Thanks

My sig comes to mind - in all humility. Important to have faith in the one, true God. Fixing these problems is what He does best. Our hurdle is believing in Him and in His power to do it... -
Thanks. I got the title wrong, too.

Has anyone ever done a scenario based on Col. Antal's Infantry Attacks book? It would seem a natural, but I'm not a good designer myself

Thanks for the info. Looks like I did get something for my $30 spent at BF - patch support!
