Any idea how to access these new triggers in the editor? I couldn't see anything new, but I didn't look at every menu item in the editor.

Most people who have played CM would never take a Touch version seriously. I thought it was a joke.

Finally got enough time to really play this game since I bought it at release. Have played other games since 2009, but am not jaded with this one. So much you can do with the rules editor to keep things interesting. Anyway, with so much disappointing stuff on Steam, I can't imagine this one not selling for $9.99 worst-case. But I'm sure you've been down that road years ago. Just a shame to see it linger here. Lots of neat touches, and I've not even played MP yet.

Dissappointed no Chrsitmas sale!

Very few of us would have the discipline to wait for a sale anyway -
20 mm AA guns, Tanks, and Spotting
Rosseau replied to warrenpeace's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Despite all the explanations, I think someone who really knows the game should do a bit of testing on this one to ensure it's not some kind of bug? -
No big deal, but we already had Barb to Berlin and Bagration, right? The patch announcement makes it sound like they are new: "...includes not only improvements to the game engine but also two new bonus campaigns, 1941 Barbarossa to Berlin, and 1944 Bagration!"

First, thanks to the scenario creators. I've downloaded nearly every one. I think MikeyD has a point on increased use of QB's. I have fallen into that trap due to time constraints. What really amazes me is the gentleman who said five of his six friends would not move up from CMx1 to CMx2. That would be an interesting question to post on one of the other active CMx1 forums. Bottom line is nothing compares to CMx2 on the market. Recruiting new blood is an issue though. I just got recruited for World in Flames, but not sure if that counts as I'm already a wargamer.

Of all the forums (Matrix, Paradox, Ageod - even Steam), I always hesitate to post on this one for "fear" of being ripped apart. Although I learn a lot, the attitude is pretty rough - especially for the non-regulars. Too bad, as many of us have been with the team since Charles wrote Flight Commander II.

One yes, and one definitely no

Another publisher recently released a couple of hard core wargames with UI's much less intuitive than CMx2's. Despite this, they are solid hits in their core market. Surprise, surprise. And they don't compete with CMx2 directly, so for us, variety is the spice of life. The publisher also released a couple of more mass market games. Sales of these games have got to be frightening, and they seemed obvious failures before they even released. So yes, it can be dangerous to stray from your core market. I do not know the publisher's strategy in releasing them.

In the meantime, thank you, Robert. I had missed this one.

Impressions on Barbarossa as the Germans
Rosseau replied to th1207's topic in Strategic Command - Assault on Communism
Thanks for the comments, 1207. Thank God there's an editor so we can do something about it before spending the time on a campaign. I'm sure your points will be well taken. -
Spent one night setting up a flak battery in GL (Map 121) and trying to take them out with British infantry and light armor teams at 40% bonus. Couldn't do it, but was fun.

For the record, I bought it yesterday and hope many others do. The challenge these days is time, and while WitE is wonderful, I can jump into this a bit quicker. Thanks.

I really should think before I post. I was quibbling about new units, but now I get it. What was 13 hexes between Leningrad and Rostov in Gold, is now so much more in AoC. It makes for a totally different experience and well worth the money. Sorry I "shot from the hip" here. On less friendly forums, I would have been deservedly beaten up

Rosseau replied to HardRock's topic in Strategic Command - Assault on Communism
I was planning on removing GC Base, thinking I didn't need it. So thanks for the warning
