  3. Yes, the xml files are there for the tweaking...and I haven't broken anything yet. This looks like a serious step beyond TOW1, and I hope a big hit for BF. Sure there are bugs, but with a strategic layer, it would be close to something we could only dream of 20 years ago. The impact vectors are also nice. So let's plop down our $45 and continue to invest in our hobby.
  4. Akiva, HOI3 is the holy grail for me as well, despite the issues. Moreover, even Empire II really did nothing for me. Yet, I bought this game and am well pleased with it. Primary reasons are the awesome interface and modding ability--the same reasons I like HOI3. Plus, the patches come a lot quicker than from Paradox! If you're not going to create new unit types and rules, and just playing it vanilla, then maybe it is not as good a value. But like HOI3, Advanced Tactics, etc., I will be playing this one a long time.
  5. Kursk looks great, and I'm sure it's a must-buy for many. However, I am disappointed that those of us who bought ToW2 North Africa are left with a game that appears to be in limbo. No major updates like the uber patch for ToW1 that I know of coming, and very few units to play with, etc. Of course, I understand the game may not have sold well, but that's not our fault, right? Glad Kursk is coming though!
  6. Never have I seen such quick and frequent updates from a developer. Our faith in buying this game out of the box has paid off. Really love the AI enhancements. One thought: The auto-updates on game start-up are great. But for those who don't have the game and don't visit the forums, I wonder if Battlefront should "advertise" how well this game is being improved? It may push some others off the fence and increase sales...I know I am always impressed when I see a new update for a game touted on the Battlefront home page.
  7. Thanks for the upfront response on the AI. When time allows, I'm sure many of us would like to get more info on just what level the AI cheats at so we can better understand and design new scenarios. Thanks.

  9. With this kind of support our $45 is money well spent. Now we need to continue to get the word out on this game.
  10. Great suggestions. I assume programming AI for EoS should be a bit easier than for a nightmare game like HOI3 with all its complexities.
  11. This is certainly an area of concern, especially that some of us don't use multiplayer and there are few people on the servers so far. I assume if you give the AI assets when setting up a custom scenario, it still does nothing with them...have to try it. If so, will keep busy creating new databases until AI is improved.
  12. Brit, I'm sure everyone appreciates your posts and are confident the fixes are coming. Also playing Armada 2526, with similar issues coming up, and have yet to hear from developer R.T. Smith. My guess is we never will. Thanks again, and wishing you future success with this release.
  13. You are right, Jarhead. But I am probably not the guy to provide the details yet. Others have questioned the AI's agressiveness, but I bet that will get fixed. However, for those like me that never bought KillerBee's Enhanced Empire, EoS would seem a must-buy at $10 more. In fact, $35 for KillerBee's product seems way to expensive to me. By the way, is this King Arthur game any good as a wargame?
  14. Surprised there are not many thumbs-up on EoS. Perhaps everyone is jaded after playing the demo? I never did, but the release version is one sweet game. Looks a lot like the old Empire II from New World Computing, which never really grabbed me. I prefer hardcore wargames but will play lighter titles like Matrix's OpBarb. Nothing against that game, but for an extra $15, EoS in infinitely superior, IMO. I knew the editing tools would be awesome. But what surprised me was how much information is presented in such a user friendly way. The designer--and maybe some of you guys--did one heck of a job thinking through the interface. The data's there if you want it, or you can just plow along and play it beer & pretzels style. Let's get the word out on this great game!
