That the series is finally on OSX. 'Nuff said.

Still waiting in Waterloo, Ontario (I keep calling my wife at home to check the mail) ... but one of those extra spaces will hold the original CMBO CD for the time being.

Left click and right click drag work the best for me. Took several games to get used to it but now it feels perfectly natural and give the smoothest movement around the field of battle. TAB to lock and +/- to move through units I use a lot too.

Agreed, that's a great suggestion for a UI change that would enhance the game's usability tremendously.

Just for the record, I received my e-mail notification that the game had shipped this morning. No tracking code, but I suspect that it will arrive here on the West Coast no later than next Friday.

Ditto after two 12 hours days outside working on my fence I relax to find the same ... order shipped.

OK, thanks for the ongoing support!

Yup, PNG files compared to 100% JPGs are smaller usually, or close enough that there's very little difference between the two formats, no doubt. It's when you crank the JPG save quality down to 70% or less you start to see some real smaller file sizes for the JPG versions. I always try to make the file size a decent size if I can.

I played a small QB yesterday as the Yanks and did notice that the AI had picked three guns and not much else in support of itself. While they stymied my attempts at a decent centre thrust and made lots of noise, I managed a simple, wide flanking maneuver with two platoons of my men and a HMG team, and once suppressed with mortar fire from my middle, they were easy targets for a quick assault.

I got my pre-order confirmation email but not go get the game now email. Odd. Didn't matter as the first email had the link to download in it, and BF staff were right to say that within a few seconds of someone getting that last email, they'd gone ahead and posted they were downloading on the forums. Once I knew one had it, I knew the first email link would work. But odd that I haven't even yet got the second email. It's not been trapped by my @me.com account as spam, either. Just never got sent I reckon.

Those are simply awesome, Vein! Thanks very much. Will be adding to my install at home this evening.

What can a 88m L/56 Flak36 gun can do to the mighty Greyhound?
Oh! Think of the soldiers another 100 yards behind! Yikes.

About 4 battles into Road to Montebourg there is an absolute gem of a small scenario.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I know what I'm doing at lunch.

Wow, do you guys have FIOS or Uverse?
My office was empty of other co-workers and we have basically dedicated T3 speeds to our desk, with the office serviced by a redundant fibre optics line as well. When there are few staff here, I can fortunately get massive download speeds.

Vein has already posted his first round of sound mods (and some wicked cool flame, smoke and explosion mods as well) ...

"Replacement/enhanced CMBN sounds for all weapons and many explosion, artillery, the odd tank etc."

In fact I prefer small scale scenarios anytime. Not only in this game, but in any tactical wargame. Company level and below is the sweet spot for me.
You got that right. Played a great little (tiny) quick battle last night and loved every minute of it. Superb gameplay and a feisty German opposition made for some fun times. The scenarios I throw out to the community will also be this scale ... first one is a planned bridge capture near the tiny village of Sainte-Marie-Laumont as the Yanks drive south of St. Lo.

Fast for me too on my work line ... no one else in the office and a T3 line to myself ... yummy.
-
Typical day at the office ... quick battle with some stiff German resistance that needed softening ...

I never did receive my email either. But am happy for the hotfix, or yes I am!

Would love to hear some Mac players experiences...ESPECIALLY old guys like me that have less than state of the art systems. I have an older MacBook Pro with the X1600 ATI video card and 256MB of memory and no prospect of upgrading this year. I played the demo on Bootcamp and XP with no problems...sorry don't have 10.6 yet...that's next. But would like to know how it runs, I will be getting 10.6 later this week....
I ran the demo on my first generation unibody 13" MBP the other night over the LAN versus my new iMac (my oldest son vs his old man) and followed the settings recommended in the guide and it ran really well. I turned off shadows and otherwise, it ran very nicely.

Wow, wow, wow. The editor looks like it's gonna be awesome! Look for a small semi-historic scenario involving a bridge neat Sainte-Marie-Laumont soon!

Thank you T3 business line!

Just a bit more glossy please. Don't make it shiny.

It would be nice to be able to use MG for this purpose, and be able to say, rake across 100m of bocage line in a single turn.
Oh, this would be nice. A linear target for a HMG so that you set a start and end point and it rakes across those for the 60 seconds of a WeGo turn. Nice idea.

Thanks, these look really nice. Any thought about updating the weapons etc markers too for the release version?
Got the Steel Box!!
