  1. Spot on Wicky (as usual) and somebody appears to own TANK:D

I am very impressed with the decades HARD WORK & Perseverance reported in the Battlefront Story. Even better WE all get great products resulting from Charles & Steve's and Martins & (more than I know) "tenacity". Thanks.

I do take umbrage "...exiled to an old mechanic's shop" comment

    I resemble that comment :D

"We both like beer. Good beer.." Ditto :D

  2. Jammer, I tried the link I posted and it worked for me.

You can increase the print size going to the Repository search CMSF for "Wide and Tall briefing fonts" as this works on my Mac just fine.

Give it a try and I hope it works for you. Makes reading the briefs much easier. BTW: Not having to bootcamp to play CMSF on Mac is a great timesaver as I am sure you realize. If all else fails, Uncle Harold always said, "It is Happy Hour somewhere!";)

  3. Both stikkypixie & YankeeDog give good advice. Nothing "game breaking" is missing in CMSF MAC. More user generated battles "the absurd amount of content CMSF has to offer" than you may have time to fight. With all the modules as a complete package, it really makes the game much more complete than the base with another module. Add DPA's complete Eurofacation of CMSF and that is another theater!

"Switching between CMSF & CMBN/FI, I find the the bigger adjustment is the tactical mentality required one modern battlefield... " agreed.

If you have CM FI/BN/CW try to keep your CMSF MAC hotkeys set up as close as possible especially if you play RT.

I have some CMSF MAC sound mod issues (can't get the CMSF PC sound mods to play in Mac) but that is not a game breaker at all.

  4. Thanks to michal Mac folks now have beta version of rezexplode and rezpack for Mac OS X and FreeBSD. 0.3 worked fine to explode all the CMSF MAC, bra files.

I did a very quick test of Mord's US Radio Chatter BASE "background.wav" putting ZZZ prefix in front of the 43.4MB file. It "should" be audible but it is not.

As far as I can ascertain from the exploded CMSF MAC .brz files there is only one original "background.wav". Seems like putting ZZZ prefix on MORD's US Radio Chatter BASE "background.wav"... should be audible.

I am sure I am missing something and would appreciate any suggestions to use the CMSF PC sound mods in the new CMSF MAC version.

    Thanks,

  5. Looks like the tanker coming out in your image Sergei. No the turret hatch doesn't open all by itself. Wodin's note about him being flipped head over heals before hitting the floor would be consistent with blast injures and burns. If he was blown out at the last seconds he in all likelihood had extensive blast burn injuries and probably died as I doubt he had rapid medical intervention. Is this a Syrian Regular or a Syrian Freedom Fighter? The most recent report I heard was there are some 2 million Syrian refugees outside Syria. It is amazing to me that the US Media does not report in depth about this war yet as many have noted, the video of the fighting is very graphic. When I went back to view this video a 2nd time I had to click a disclaimer because someone said is was disturbing!

  6. He could have been ejected in the very soon after the impact? I can't see well enough to tell with certainty.

The tanker running to safety has what appears to be significant and classic blast injuries (shoes, pants blown off) as well as burn injuries (clothing impregnated into his groin area). Primary injuries from blast overpressure waves often include hollow organs like lungs. If you can't breath properly survival is challenging. Then there are the Neurotrauma Insults...

It is possible the tanker was outside the tank during the impact. I can't see well enough to tell with certainty. If this was the case he "got lucky" but the blast and burn injuries are still IMO life threatening without modern & rapid battlefield medicine interventions.

  7. No, they are pretty picky about that.

Don't want to scare the wildlife:confused:

We used to go for a long weekend. I found it more fun to hike a smaller mountain and then drink beer by the fire for the tired and beaten ones to come back from Katahdin. Oh wait... the park doesn't allow beer. Must have been some other park. (whistles innocently)

Whiskey at 5,267 feet tastes great... or so I am told;)

Good one! But there ain't nothing between me and the North Pole but a couple of trees. Plus, I can see Canada from my window (nuk-nuk-nuk!)

Good location for the ZED apokalupsis. You don't have Four Horses ... do you?:D

  8. I have seen some truly incredible traumatic burn injuries in my life experience. Yes, people can do some miraculous things in their fight to survive. Even though he was very seriously burnt the "survivor" IMO would not survive for long without a rapid major trauma / burn intervention. Not a "buddy first aid" patch up.

  9. It took full screen HD for me to ID the situation but it sure looks ominous for the "survivor". It is truly amazing what adrenaline and our survival instinct allows us to accomplish after almost being blown out of a fiery cauldron. I think if you look close enough his boots / shoes were blown or burned off yet he was able to run to "safety."

  10. If you mean the movement behind the tank, it appears to be a piece of plastic bag or something waving in the wind. There's a lot of other trash in the vicinity. It kinda looks like a human arm at first glance but it seems a little unarticulated for a limb.

I'm not completely sure if the man comes out of the turret or not because it's all covered in smoke at that point, but the hatch does swing open and some movement seems to be going on behind the screen of smoke coming from inside - and then the guy appears rolling behind the tank, just as the ammo starts burning. The man's attire also looks like what I'd expect from a man who just bailed out of a burning tank. Seems plausible at least.

I think Sergei may be correct.

Assuming this is not a faked video and the tanker is the person scampering to the building after the massive fire in the tank, I suggest, absent rapid medical care, the tanker did not survive.

Assuming the tanker has no serious additional trauma status from the tank exploding ??? the tanker is still in a world of burn hurt. Looking at the rule of nines (18% per leg, 1% groin, 9% per arm, 18% toss, 9% head) the tanker appears to have a 82% total body surface area burn! Serious enough to be admitted to any hospital even with superficial burns. I suspect some of these are partial thickness or worse.

Based on the history of being burned in an enclosed space I suspect he also has inhalation injury. Aggressive airway management is required with very low threshold to intubate. Assume carbon monoxide exposure in patients burned in an enclosed space.

Circulatory issues include hypovolemia due to fluid loss and fluid movement from vasodilation and increased capillary permeability. Four large-bore IV catheters should be started. A Foley urinary catheter to monitor urine output for adequacy. Narcotics, analgesics, and sedatives should be administered in small frequent doses by the IV routes only, etc., etc. .

If this is a "Free Syria" fighter, I doubt he has access to this level of critical trauma care. If significant burn injuries alone in the video are not addressed in as an emergency I would not be surprised if he became a tanker martyr.

  11. DPA, Thank you for the NATO Euroscape v 1.0 files 9 & 10.

These look great and make Euro battles look just right.

    I also added:

British K9 Euro Camo Vehicle Mod Mk I

    Bird's Euro_K9.brz looks great.

"No dogs or other animals were hurt during the making of this mod."

*Caution on the optional UK Euro Shared Textures.brz (recolored gear and camo nettings) as these (in my Mac) make for some odd floating in space gear.*

Bird's NATO LMTV.brz gets the big truck all Euro.

Mikey's LMTV Tire Tan Rims complete the Euro LMTV

Thank you all for the Euroscape Landscape and Vehicles.
