  1. Yep that's what it looks like. Hope this can be fixed easily, it's pretty serious . It's a real shame for this mission too, because that row of houses is the perfect spot to cover an assault on the milk factory from. I think I'll go play the US campaign and hold off on this one till the bug gets squashed.
  2. So trying to play the first mission in the Moment in Time campaign, and some serious LOS issues are coming up. It seems like the game thinks that those houses are about 10 feet higher than they actually are.
  3. You make some really good arguments Paper Tiger. I'm glad you used the experience levels the way you did. How much affect do the negative leadership modifiers have though? I'm sure someone's done some testing on that. I'm never quite sure how much it matters.
  4. Awesome, didn't realize it would be there. Thanks! Are there any changes not mentioned in the "urban combat enhancements"?
  5. I don't see anything on the main "overview" page, but someone was telling me tanks have reduced spotting and some other changes? Can someone fill me in?
  6. There's a lot of dead ground on the right side like Ts4EVER said. Main thing is just to overwhelm them with firepower. If you advance intelligently the Germans will at most only be able to fire at you from 3 positions tops at any one time.
  7. Yep I already do that. The main problem for me is that quite often the LOS a position is supposed to give me (from checking beforehand), does not match up with what my unit can actually see once it gets there. Or the other way around, which is just as bad (and has gotten me killed plenty of times). I hope BFC are able to do something to correct this somehow, because it's one of the main areas where CMx1 is superior.
  8. Do any of you do this kind of thing for a living (being a grog that is)? It's obvious that there are some very knowledgeable people on here. I haven't finished university yet (saving up cash for last 2 years), and haven't declared my major... I wanted to go with history at first, but after seeing many of my friends who majored in liberal arts type stuff unable to find a job in their field, I've had second thoughts... but maybe there is something out there if I look hard enough.
  9. This continues to sometimes confound me. For infantry it seems easier, mostly I think because even if not all of your squad spots one particular spot, at least a few will (which often results in the rest of the team moving over to shoot at said target) But for vehicles (and AT guns), I'm still having trouble trying to determine what their LOS is. It can make trying to set up a tank in a good protected firing position difficult. Any tips?
  10. You mean hunt? The current "Hunt" in the game is move to contact. There have been several threads in the past asking for CMx1 hunt, but I don't think BFC has replied yet (could be wrong): http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=96629&highlight=hunt http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=100325&highlight=hunt http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=103778&highlight=hunt http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=73292&highlight=hunt (not posting this to discourage posting on this topic, the more it gets brought to BFC's attention the more likely it is to get fixed). This and the the inability to select waypoints by clicking on their lines (other than the unit you have selected) are the two areas that need to get fixed before CMx2 will have a superior interface all around to its older predecessors. My guess is it must be harder to define the parameters for when to stop and when to keep moving because the game is more complex. But I would really like to see it in the game by the time Bagration comes out. Some people seem to not care at all that it's not in the game, which is surprising to me because I found it a very useful order. It's unfortunate, but now you have to use some guesswork and give timed stops along the route of your tank. Or use move-to-contact with an armor cover arc (definitely a good option now that we have armor cover arcs). That won't get it to stop for AT guns though I don't think, and once it sees one tank, it's stopped for the rest of the turn.
  11. I mean being able to select other waypoints by clicking on their lines without having to go back and find and select its unit first (so basically what was in CMx1). I posted a thread about it a while back and Steve (I think... whoever is behind the battlefront.com username) said it was a possibility so that's why I brought it up. Being able to have waypoints visible at all times (not just when a unit is selected), would be a nice feature to go with this. It might seem minor, but it's one of the big reasons CMx2 is a lot more time consuming to play IMO. (at least with my style of play)
  12. I usually like to block off part of the enemy defensive line with smoke so that I can pour all my fire onto a small section. I haven't used it this way yet, but I can imagine it being good for covering a retreat too. Probably only a pre-planned one though, or in a pure infantry battle.
  13. I hope you guys are able to implement clickable waypoints in this. That would def guarantee a purchase from me. Maybe a change of the rules regarding AT weapon usage in buildings too?
  14. I don't know much about MG. How's the terrain? More hedgegrows or is it more interesting?
  15. I think the price of the games is very very reasonable. It's true that there is less content in each itiration than say, with CMBB at release, but this is probably explained by everything by its nature being more time consuming to do in CMx2 (more detailed models etc.) $55 is standard fare for a new PC game, though we're already seeing many titles being released at ~$60 and it's still going up. This is not only "AAA" releases at all either, some wargames are very expensive at release (see Gary Grisgby's War in the East or the Command Ops games) Personally I'd rather see the price of the games, content and the size of the dev team all doubled. But maybe that's a bit selfish (I'm not rich by any means, but I do have very few expenses) I was until just recently very broke though so I feel their pain . If they can't afford the newer titles just have your friends buy CMBB. It's only $25 and easily in the top 3 of best computer wargame ever. I still play it a lot and it doesn't feel dated at all to me.
  16. Can you clear mines with artillery? If so what caliber is needed and how good is it at clearing an area?
  17. I don't have 2.0 but I do have GL. I find FI much more enjoyable, largely because bocage gets old quickly (especially against the AI, it's so easy to exploit)
  18. If anyone else is trying to find where this discussion was and manages to find it send me a link please, I'm having trouble .
  19. Haha wow, that hurt. Something I've learned (the hard way) is to always keep as much dispersal as possible, even if it means some of your men are out in the open rather than in cover behind some trees. If you have to keep them hidden, then just give your formation more depth. I've yet to actually witness an airstrike in CMx2. Can you see the actual plane?
  20. Do the scoped riflemen that are in some of the standard infantry squads in CMFI/CMBN (usually the team leader) have real advantages versus their standard rifle comrades in terms of accuracy or anything like that? Has anyone done testing on this?
  21. Posted a thread on it a while back, but what I really want to see is the ability to select other units by clicking on their waypoint lines. Also an option to keep the waypoints visible at all times (CMx1 also had this option) so that I can select any unit anywhere from their waypoint line.
  22. I just bought this and would like to play a few of the scenarios before everyone has gone through them all (hopefully hasn't happened yet). I am very busy during the week (Monday-Thursday) probably only able to send out one turn total during that period, but the other three days I can play at minimum 3 turns a day. If this arrangement works for you shoot me a PM or just email me a game straightaway: icyscythe <AT> gmail <DOT> com. (in a few weeks though it will be a bit different with Tuesday-Thursday being the days I can play a lot and the rest of the week booked)
  23. edit: nevermind I see now the details are in the store window for GL. feel free to delete mods
