  1. That is superb - been hoping someone would do a scenario on this - bit surprised it wasnt in the game actually - but then was a bit surprised at the paucity of airborne scenarios. Still who cares - what a freaking game !
  2. Freaking hell ... that is amazing - jeez - I think BF out did themselves with this game - but with guys like you around its going to be even better ...
  3. No. At the end of a battle you can see this - but not during a game - the vehicle stats are displayed graphically now - though not as detailed as the old
  4. Excellent - and thanks steve for such an excellent game. I have dreamed of something like this since I was a kid. At the moment I feel like one . the wait - whilst long - was more than worth it.
  5. Is there anyway to make this a little darker - I find it really useful but at its current hue its difficult to see sometimes ?
  6. This thing is stunning. I am speechless - this has got to represent the best value for money of anything I have ever bought anywhere. Thanks BF .. that seems such a trivial thing to say for such a product - I hope you all get rich but DONT retire ...
  7. Thanks for that . I played with the scenario editor and seemed to me mist and fog wernt working - just saw black between ground and sky - have an Nvidia GT 8800. with latest drivers.
  8. I cant see a release on a friday. Monday or tuesday next week most likely.
  9. "However, if this turns into the end of May, I will be disappointed that my money has been in their hands with no product for a much longer time period. Now I know time frames are not absolute but the lack of communication is also telling to me." Sorry - that sounded bitter to me ... point is - if you pre ordered why? If they had said July - would you not have pre ordered ? Why are you "disappointed" that they had your money for a few more days / weeks ? If you were worried about them "having your money for any period of time - why did you preorder. Your argument is specious and therefore just sounds bitter. I am far from a BF fanboi.
  10. Does it matter - I am sure BF are just trying to be nice and try and give us some kind of realistic date ... if they had just said "it will be july" a couple of weeks ago we wouldnt even be having the conversation. And they could then release it when they like and if they deliver it early everyone thinks there are great. If you didnt want your money in their hands then you shouldnt have pre orderted. That is after all the point of a pre order. Really - I undedrstand the frustration - but the bitterness toward BF is unwarranted.
  11. I feel the sigh my friend ... I feel somewhat lucky as I have been "anticipating" the release since the infamous 2009 xmas post. So by now - I am well past the excited stage and am at the resigned it will be here when its here stage as I have long since taken any formal estimates - even when they only try to predict a week ahead - with a pinch of salt.
  12. I think you are out of luck ? You will need an internet connection - on the machine you intend to play it on - to activate the game - even if you have the install. I may be wrong here though
  13. This is all a mystery to me - I thought Steve had already said it wasnt coming Friday. I presume that meant the demo and as well as the game ... As far as I know they would never release a game on a friday anyhow. You guys are torturing yourselves for nothing ...
  14. No - the caps were for emphasis - for some reason I cant make anything bold or italic or underlined as those particular buttons dont appear for some text highlights - go figure, I probably should have explained that - as I said - I didnt have time to read all the posts on the thread - I accepted that Moon had answered the question. The point with his actual answer however is that it seems to me that should I run into issues with the activation count - then it appears I am reliant - from what he said - on the "goodwill" of battlefront technical support to to let me play the game and if they "believe" me. the fact is - should battlefront ever deny me use of a game I have legally paid for - for any reason, DRM included - they are actually breaking every consumer law in quite a few lands. My point is - it is not up to me to manage their DRM scheme so I can use their product. Their DRM scheme should allow me to use their product - if I have paid for it, under any circumstances. The problem I have with DRM and Moons answer is that there is a fundamental conceit on the part of software companies that they have the right under certain circumstances to break consumer law to service their DRM system. This is not the case and an EULA is no defence for that. No one has tested it yet, irresepective however that is why many independent countries - the US trade commision and the EU are reviewing all forms of DRM system to see if they are actually breaking the law under certain circumstances. I have no problem with DRM per se - what I have a problem with is the fact the onus appears to be on me to manage it for them so my game works.
  15. You miss the point -there were two replies that accepted I had missed the answer and helpfully pointed out where it had been. If you didnt like the tone of my post (for what reason I still cant fathom) you could have simply not replied rather than, self importantly, pointing out why you were not going to be helpful. If you werent going to be helpful - what was the point in posting a response other than to pick a fight. I could care less about your opinion, you obviously think otherwise and that I should have the benefit of it, thats your problem not mine.
  16. Accepted - but point out to me please what was "Offensive or Disrespectful" about the post he replied to ? It was merely a question to Moon - the disprespect shown was to his reply - not to Moon - and something he entirely deserved if he wanted to reply to me in the way he did.
  17. And you are who ? His mother ? All it shows, indeed, is that they had better manners than you do. I would respecfully suggest that Moon works for battlefront - so answering my question - in whatever tone it was phrased - is his Job. As you yourself said Around here people tend to get the reply they deserve, from the forumnites as well as BFC. It's why I like this place, no blanket PR bull. I expect if he had a problem with what or the way I said it he could have said so himself - and besides - if thats the way the forum works - you have to be able take it as well as dish it out so your umbrage at the way I said it seems somewhat contradictory.
  18. You shouldnt presume to know my "attitude" - Unfortunately I dont have the luxury of time to read every post in a twelve page thread. My point was absolutely valid - illustrated by the fact that Moon felt the need to answer it from someone else - given I didnt know he had. So thankyou to the other two who posted the answer I was looking for without the "attitude" you felt the need to impart yourself... especially it now puts my mind to rest about this subject. Point of fact I have bought a new machine and had two subsequent hard drive failures in the first three months of this year plus got hit with a virus that required a clean install - so I would have hit my limit by march - hopefully BF wouldnt have presumed I was one of those taking the piss.
  19. Yes but Moon - that IS NOT THE QUESTION. The QUESTION is - what happens if you DO exceed four activations within the first year ? or the number of valid activations you have left - at any stage - What are battlefront going to do then ? Do you have to wait for your new activation before you can activate again or are battlefront going to allow you to exceed this at any point? From your previous answer I would suggest no ... the point is not whether you are likley to or how someone exceeds that limit - but - given they are a genuine paying customer - what is going to happen if they do ... if battlefronts answer is simply "tough luck" then we are in effect renting the game and it stinks. Your answer above is a politicians answer - in that it singularly just repeats what you have said before and everyone already knows and understands - but absolutely fails to answer the question everyone is actually asking.
  20. Yes... and ? whats your point exactly. Sorry - but just because YOU say something about there being no reason to re-install doesnt make it true.
  21. What business is it of yours why I do it ? Its not a fetish - so just accept Its necessary. The point is - I am not asking you to - and I shouldnt be limited by the DRM on something I have bought if I want to.
  22. You are probably in a minority of one - if you think windows operating systems still dont benefit from a re-install.
