  1. so question is: will there be any? I mean such as 1) realistic physics 2) improved pathfinding 3) ai, because now there are only scripts 4) larger maps
  2. So this vivid discussion shows that snipers are really a problem. What developers are going to do about it?
  3. Hey, hey, hey. That's not the way I wanted it to be. I'm not interested in situations when sniper vs sniper. I gave you as an example 2 situations. 1) sniper(veteran) made lots of shots to shoot a team of the recoilless. He almost run out of ammo. That team was 200meters away on plain ground. It was alreay about half an hour since the start of the mission. I'm sure that these wasn't just bad luck. 2) sniper observed town for about an hour. Somehow he noticed an rpg team and a mgteam, behind some kind of a kerb 400m away. Not a single hit. I'm not sure that it was a bad luck also. 3) sniper hadn't spotted not a single opforse soldier inside the building after an hour of observation. Even when they started shooting, he didn't. (forward observer spotted some of them, so why not to increase spotting ability of the sniper team to this level?) Again, I'm not trying to discuss sniper vs sniper situation (perhaps there was a sniper in one of those opforce fireteams, I just don't know, but judging of the intense of fire, the whole team was shootin, not only 1 sniper) In my humble opinion, ideal varient is the following: sniper gets into position, observes the territory (targeting arc command?), sniper spots the target, 3-5 rounds depending on the distance and other condition, sniper changes position. Am I right? But it is impossible to realise with current sniper's accuracy and spotting abilities. As a result sniperteam unit is one of the most useless in the game. And I think game looses a lot because of that.
  4. Snipers in demo, brits mission are veterans) I understand that sniper's task is not only to kill, but sometimes to keep an enemy down. But in most cases those who the sniper fires at don't give a damn that they are firing at by a sniper) After several minutes of such shooting some opforce fireteam or mg spots the sniperteam and voila, heavy casualties. And I'm not speaking only about those in the brits module. US snipers are also nogo. I once tried to shoot an rpg team from control tower. They were running across airfield. Well, the made it) I understand that this is a game. That there are a lot of conventionalities. But these is an wargame. Not some "world of magic statagy" And that means that every unit should have his real world model and fulfill his functions in the most possible way. That is why "in-game" challenger looks like "real world" challenger and not like some star of death. And that is why snipers should fulfill functions of "real world sniper". Of course they should have strong and weak points not to be some uberunit. For example they should be total losers in closequartes combat where usm fireteam rules the universe. In one of the patches accuracy of snipers was slightly increased. Now I think it was too little. 6) What evidence do you have that any soldier "should" spot such a target? Because that "target" was firing at the sniper. That opforce fireteam was in the building so it was firing throught the windows. It was located by the team of spotters who were 2 mtrs away from snipers.
  5. I'll be frank. They are awuful. They can't spot a shooting fireteam at the building at 200mtrs away. They can't shoot down a man 400m away. It takes them about 5 minutes of constant shooting to shoot a man 200mtrs away. All these is about daylight combat conditions. Do u have an idea how these blind puppies would behave at night? And it is impossible for them to shoot a man in the window. What's the use of such snipers?
  6. Hi, also interested in joining online battles. My nickname in xfire is elaxal. The only problem I have is that my game is of 1.10 version. Is it important when playing online?
  7. Scenarios and campaigns are great but I desperately want to play CM online to fight with a human being:) Is there anyone who wants to join?
  8. A bit of offtopic) I use 8600gt, wiht nvidia control panel of course, what are the most suitable graphic settings for CM?
  9. I have to have the CD in the drive to play the game. I downloaded and installed Paradox patch in the other directory. Then I copied necessary files and changed exe files. When I tried to launch the game it asked for a disk. I guess it is because of different copy protection systems. And in the main menu it is indicated that game is still 1.10 version. I send requests both to the 1C and battlefront. None of them has responded yet.
  10. My current game version is 1.10. I've tried 3 patches from there and I also tried the patch from battlefront. The patch from battlefront installed fine but then it requested some key I don't have. I think it is because of the different copy protection systems. The patch for Paradox didn't asked for a key but it changed nothing. I don't want to submit a ticket because it isn't some kind of game error, everything works just fine) I only want to install this patch. I contacted 1C techsupport but they haven't answered yet, and that is why I'm asking)
  11. Is it only turn-based or it can be played real time?
  12. That is what developers say and I agree with them. But why not to make it some kind of an option, cause for me it is pretty annoying as well as for many other players. And that it why I'm asking if the author of that mod can make a small one which exclude small arms tracers. I'm sure lots of people will be extremly grateful)
  13. I live in Russia so I bought that version of the software. And now I have diffuluties with installing patches. None of them intalls correctly. What do I have to do to upgrade my game to 1.11?
  14. New tracers look really good, but can their quantity be reduced? It seems now there are too many of them.
