The losses are concerning, but a lot of this Ukraine counter-attack force is green and they are still learning, mistakes are going to be made. I would only start to really get concerned if this trend continues.. but I have faith that they are smart enough to make the adjustments required in order to succeed.
This is a very small part of the entire force in action and is in a very concentrated area... I would suggest standing by and letting things play out; I suspect a lot of good news is going to come our way very soon.

Had my initial doubts as well, but the way the UKR´s react and stay aware of the overall situation makes be believe it´s not fake. Anyway, these situations might already have happened exactly this way and more will happen surely again.

The PWs don't look frightened or hesitant enough to me but I have no doubt that it is reflective of similar arranged surrenders that have taken place.

Perhaps a "how to" promotional video for the program. Odd a lone AFV appears around a corner into a perfect ambush. But I would not be surprised if it's an actual surrender which would be great.

maybe, but that footage is as likely fake as it is real. (this vid being fake doesn't take away from that it might be really happening in large amounts)

I bet the Ukrainian army is planning a commando raid with tractors behind enemy lines at this very moment. 😁

You are only telling half the story to match your narrative.  The UNSC passed 3 resolutions to get Serbia to stop killing people (a fourth after the bombings)  and then passed 1244 which authorized a direct ground intervention by NATO (KFOR).  Further, NATO nations tried to get a resolution but were blocked by China and Russia as you note above...why?  Because Serbians were ethnic cleansing again which everyone still remembered from 1995.  This followed the precedent set in 1995 of NATO airstrikes to protect UNPROFOR, which led to UNSCR 1031 and the NATO ground intervention of IFOR.
Making a link back to US politics and "expansion" in Kosovo makes zero sense - just as it does for Libya frankly.  For Libya, UNSCR 1973 was put forward by France, Lebanon and the UK...what in the hell does this have to do with "Congressional approval"?  1973 was a classic Chapter VII, and again, Russia and China were on the SC and let it go.  Kosovo and Libya were interventions to try and stop repeat humanitarian offenders and dictators from doing worse - not some Rub Goldberg attempt by NATO to rule the world as a puppet of the US.
France intervening without the US - you have heard about Mali (Op Serval)?  In fact there were more: https://www.okayafrica.com/french-military-in-africa/
I can say NATO is a defensive alliance - the history of the Alliance has been defensive from the beginning.  NATO has done interventions on behalf of the UN and failing that, with the support from the international community.  To  make all this some self-centered US political issue is frankly insulting to all the nations and its military members who participated on those missions.
Finally, we know NATO is not a US puppet because it stayed out of Iraq in '03 (which did not have UN cover) and only went into Afghanistan when it did.  This is not the behaviour of a "puppet alliance doing the bidding of a US president who can't rule the planet based on domestic political landscape".  Russia is paranoid...because they are Russia, and no one likes/trust them because of history.  And Putin just took out a big red marker and underlined that dislike/trust for the next 50 years by unilaterally invading a neighbor.  And attempts to play "pick-and-chose" history to create a justification for Russian behaviour is just wrong.

@Kinophile also gave us a preview in April of what RA 36th CAA is looking at now that the road to Sloviansk is, umm, open....
[DefMon3] 36th Combined Arms Army (RU) in the Izium area are supposed to have got 1000+ troops and 100 equipment in reinforcement. Unknown types.

    [some red zones are debatable]
Notice they have the Sviaty Hory massif (the river bend) on their left, untaken, and ahead some more woodlands, how nice. Their right flank is paralleled by that great big canal there, which prevents any kind of right flank maneuver. So there's really only one road left for them, hey diddle diddle....

Though there is truth in this, it's a very pessimistic prediction. Remember people were saying the same things for the economic union and common currency. Despite the flaws we can overcome the problems and find some unity.
As Europeans do we forever have to rely militarily on a Patron from the other side of the Atlantic? I don't think so. We can of course always cooperate but we have to grow some self esteem on that matter.

Thinking back to the video and some additional information. It is stated in the video that the commander seen towards the end commands 6 CAESAR (battery?) and that his unit allegedly destroyed 80 Russian guns.
From a professional point of view (which interests you), we see on the video that the coordinates of the target are indicated manually on the gun calculator (the computer at the front, the CALP) (3: 05). The gun then automatically calculates its angle and direction of fire based on its coordinates thanks to the inertial navigation system. In the French army, there is no need to enter them manually because the coordinates are transmitted automatically. A nod to the previous exchanges we had regarding integration (radio etc)

PS : by continuing and with a bit of luck, I will be able to sell a CAESAR to Steve 😂

Definitely agree the two front war was a big factor. I'm currently reading Phillips Payson O'Brien's book How The War Was Won, which looks at World War II (especially the Anglo-American air and naval campaigns) from the perspective of equipment losses before, during and after production and deployment, as well as strategic mobility. It makes a very interesting counterpoint to the argument that "the Red Army really won the war." He also has some interesting points about the importance of Lend-Lease (e.g. Soviet aluminum production was heavily dependent on access to U.S. bauxite).
Bringing that back to the current conflict, a parallel can be made with the impact of sanctions on the Russian side vs. foreign aid to Ukraine.

Minor correction to my earlier reply to @Gpig: Strike Fighters 2 does have some Canadian content (other than being able to put Canadian marking on planes we never flew, which is possible) without third party mods: a merged install with SF2 Europe (CMCW style World War III scenario) and the expansion pack for SF2 Israel, which adds the F-51D, allows you to fly a Canadian Mustang in a late 40's to mid 50's scenario.
    *Ahem* back on topic...

Very good series of posts on the subject of desensitization. I have to admit I often avoid watching the videos...each to their own, though. One odd inconsistency I've noticed is why it tends to make me uncomfortable when I'm fairly used to watching World War II footage in documentaries...somehow the length of elapsed time and the known outcome of the conflict seem to buffer the emotional impact on some level.

I never even watched this one, watching UA soldiers die automatically hit the alarm button for me. This somehow is not happening anymore for videos with dead Russians. Go figure...

This map some incorrect. What I could understand from some information from locals, our troops crossed the river in Bilohirka, where we can see natural bridgehead, but not in Davydiv Brid (meaning in eng. "Davyd's ford") - this village still under Russian control or in grey zone, according to different information. Against our troops, again, according to differnet information either elements of 11th air-assault brigade or 56th air-assault regiment. Very likely first line of defense occupied LDPR conscripts, so our forces hit exactly their positions to breakthrough, but this is just my opinion.
As I know, the clashes for Inhulets crossing have been lasting about 10 days or even two weeks, maybe not very intensive, maybe there were some unsuccessful probes, and only now, when our troops firmly took the ground and could push the enemy, OPSEC curtain was lifted officilally

wait, Ukrainians aren't white anymore?  Gosh, I can't keep up.   First I find out the Irish, Italians, and Poles are now 'white', at least in the US, when they certainly weren't when they came to the US.  And now the Ukrainians aren't white anymore?  Does this White Club have any rules at all?  It's almost as if they are just making it up on the fly -- but that would be ridiculous, right?   I mean, if one's whole world view revolves around this I would expect their would be some scientifically solid basis, right?  I mean, who would just do this based on nothing?  That would be really stupid.

So ... I was thinking the other day ... if only there was a war game that had a lot of the equipment and forces used in the current conflict/special military operation in which you could build maps and stuff ...
Map size 4,800m wide by 3,664m deep
    Topo overlay

    Satellite overlay

    CM overhead ...

    Where it is in Ukraine
    Chervone Overlay.kmz
    A couple of comparisons ...

The Combat Mission Black Sea map file ...
    Chervone.btt
Just a map folks so no you can't do a QB on it or play it unless you actually click the editor button and add forces and plans etc.  Will this be a scenario one day ... hopefully.
I was prompted to make it because it looked like a BTG or two were going to roll south towards Barvinkove having rolled into Velyka Komyshuvakha towards the end of April and I though it would be worth seeing how it looked in Combat Mission and whether a scenario or two could be built around it - there's definitely meat there for sure so hopefully I can put something together.  If I do so it will be the subject of a separate thread.

    Very important, and bears repeating.
In much the same way, the Battle of Britain was much closer fought than was reported at the time, even though the Luftwaffe never had any real prospect of 'winning' (in terms of clearing the skies for an invasion).
I'm not very interested in propaganda, Minister. If we're right, they'll give up. If we're wrong, they'll be in London in a week.
...I too have the uneasy feeling that Ukrainian losses are quite heavy. The command level may also not yet be up to waging more complex offensive operations.
What we are still seeing today in the way of UA attacks is mainly battalion (CM) scale infantry operations Tito or Giap would have known how to fight. The primary evolution since March has been in the artillery arm.  Happy to be proven wrong on this, if anyone is aware of counterexamples...

    2.  Here's Strelkov's latest.
Both us and Ukrainians are entrenching. And... THIS IS VERY BAD! Why?
We will again need to wage fierce bloody fights for each village, every grove and every high-rise... pay with Russian blood for every few hundred meters conquered....
The "attrition battle" (as I have repeatedly noted - as a military decision, I rate it no higher than "idiotic") in the Donbas continues and the "strategic impasse" (for the RF Armed Forces, but not for the UAF, who are gaining time) is getting deeper....
Especially it's meaningless to hope for victory through attrition taking into account that almost all of Europe and North America are acting as a rear for UAF. Thus, it will be necessary to try and defeat the enemy in field battles. And, excuse me, with whom, and with what?! If so far not even the partial mobilisation has been carried out?
