If the last couple of years are anything to go by, the bones for 2024 will be very similar to the ones for 2023, which themselves were basically the ones for 2022.

Declan and I batted a few ideas around. Then given the fact that I am a complete duffer when it comes to these new fangled mechanical typewriter whatsits, he provided me with a link to the Microsoft C ++ (x86) thingamybob, which worked. I just have to cobble together some new music mods as I lost all the ones that I created some years back when my old PC died.

It will annoy everyone here. "Wait til you see the power of the twin vickers machine gun [on the jeeps I've got coming]". Nope. Those are Lewis guns, not Vickers. And that Ma Deuce is more powerful than about 4 of them put together.
But it's fun nonsense, rather than a docudrama.

@Artkinwhat is it about CMFI that you don't like? I see this a lot, it seems to be unpopular but I can't for the life of me figure out why. With the expansions it covers the most time (1943 to end of war), has the most nations (I think) and has all kinds of terrain to fight over and weather to fight in. It's one of my favourites.

Once the WWII games get transferred to Steam, (being the only ones i own), what does this actually mean? You just sign up to Steam and play as "normal"? What are the benefits of this? Will Steam be the only platform the games are accessible in the future? Also, what could be the downside of this?
Soz for all the questions, would like to know the pro,s n con,s before signing up to anything.

    Hi folks....
Just an update that a new campaign from @theforgeris now available on The Scenario Depot.
CMFB Rollbahn D -Full Campaign (thefewgoodmen.com)
The Rollbahn D Campaign contains 35 linear scenarios built as historically accurate as possible.
In other news thanks to the folk who have been emailing me regarding the missing links they have come across in The Scenario Depot.  I do believe that I have worked through the 700 odd scenarios and all links are now added... it was a beast of a job but I finally got there.  It doesn't help when sometimes the file names don't reflect the title of the scenario... but it is good that these scenarios didnt just disappear when the BF Repository shut down or GreenAsJade stopped maintaining CMMODs.
Ive also been advised by a few folk about the comments regarding me and my handling of the Mods and Scenarios so just a quick post to clarify my position with a few points.
Battlefront decided to discontinue the BF Repository...
GreenAsJade offered to host the mods/scenarios on CMMOD's...
GaJ, myself and a team of volunteers transferred thousands of files across from the Repository before it was closed...
GaJ stopped maintaining CMMOD's and I did my best to carry on the work we started but without direct ownership I did what I could...
My site The Few Good Men in agreement with Gary Krockover took over the names of The Scenario Depot and The Proving Grounds (from CMx1 fame) and we started hosting our own work under those names and added in The Mod Warehouse, it was not my intention at that time to become the guardian of all CM Mods and Scenarios.
As CMMOD's became less and less active I came to an agreement with BF that the FGM would host the files using the CM Mod Warehouse and The Scenario Depot so that we didn't lose all that historical content.  That is part of the reason why the upload process is a little stilted - it wasn't designed for thousands of users to march in and start uploading mods.  It was set up for me to rescue any mods from disappearing.
Now I hold my hands up and admit that I have been overwhelmed with the amount of content that I got, I was passed, salvaged, downloaded, was emailed tens of thousands of files and that yes I only have a certain amount of them up on the site and hosted as it is a continual work in progress and that is where we stand just now.
Between having a family, full time job and other commitments I do what I can and would appreciate some understanding of the situation before commenting that 'I have destroyed the community or calling for me to be assassinated'.  A lot of people have been giving their opinion without offering a solution.  This is the best solution I was able to come up with to save the content at the time.
The majority of costs are paid for by me helped out with some donations to ease the burden.
I have said before if someone wished to take on the financial burden, has the time to invest in uploading thousands of files and the means to continually maintain the huge database and answer numerous queries on a daily basis then I am willing to hand over the reins.  But, I suspect like the last time no one actually wants to do that and would rather hide behind a keyboard firing insults at me so we are left in the position that I will carry on doing what I am doing with the full support of the guys at BF.  I will close with this...
all files are backed up to a hard drive on a regular basis. I have a huge catalogue of files and am happy if you are looking for a particular mod/scenario, to check to see if I have it, if it is not hosted on the site yet and get it fired of to you.  If I fail to get back to you via PM or the like hit me up again.  I receive a tonne of correspondence every day and sometimes these do get lost in the maelstrom. Thanks for reading and hopefully this clarifies things a little... and if you want to take over the job feel free to drop me a PM and we can discuss.
    Cheers for reading....

    Phil,
Sorry, I played this just a little while ago, and didn't save the end screen - I just now saw your post regarding that.  I'll play it again for sure.
I ended up with a Tactical Defeat.  If I recall correctly, I lost 4 tanks, but I think there were two that were dismounted as well, and two with their main guns destroyed.  The only crew that was killed outright was Chutney's lads, along with the gallant skipper as well.  They took a solid hit from one of Jerrie's heavies and the 7,5cm gun set them ablaze...hence...Blazin Chariots.  Sorry, I couldn't resist.  I did get credit for a hidden victory point, but my losses were more than the AI.  I think they only had 3 tanks destroyed.  Again, just going by memory.
I recall that the German side showed as Luftwaffe, which I thought was odd and I wanted to ask you about that?  Was there some reason the German troop mix was listed as Luftwaffe?
Since I don't have the score and a screenshot of the ending, I only have my "feeling" for the battle.
It was classic!  I really enjoyed it, and everything "felt" right.
    Spoilers     Spoilers     Spoilers  [sort of]
I didn't change the location for any of my Honeys for the start.  I left everyone in place and then moved forwards.  The setting sun was recognized by Captain Chutney as a distinct disadvantage for our lads.  This, I fear, contributed to his decision not to charge headlong, but rather, move forward a bit cautiously until we could get some spots.  This did happen, and suddenly the horizon lit up with possible contacts, but no firm sighting.  There was quite a bit of dust and, of course, we were looking into the sun so the glare was a bit of a bother.
Suddenly the lads reported that hits were being taken, and shortly thereafter, our boys opened up with the feral roar of a 37mm cannon.  The commanders used a variety of tactics, mainly a fast command at an angle, followed by a hunt command straight forward.  This was done in leaps and bounds though, so the unit didn't advance on a single line.
All too soon, several tanks took solid hits, with one being dismounted and another losing their main gun.  Other tanks, still advancing in stilted rushes, did start to get solid spots on the enemy.  There was a mix of medium German tanks, and some Eye-Tye pretend tanks, along with some heavy types.
Corporal Clark was skirting up the right flank, and his tank took a solid hit, knocking out the corporal and the loader.  The tank soldiered on with only a driver and a gunner.  Towards the end, the gunner ordered the driver to charge up the flank, with the intent of getting around behind Jerrie, and maybe snapping up some fallen crew cowering in the desert sand, but by then the battle was over.
Some of the lads began getting really good hits, and it was believed that both Italian tanks were knocked out, along with maybe one of the heavies and two of the medium tanks.  At least that is what was submitted in the after action report, although there was way too much dust and smoke to really tell for sure.  We never really did close with Jerrie, as we'd taken our licks and had to ease back from the battlefield.   [The reporting non-com was just a bit over-enthusiastic about the unit's success...]
Some of the lads would drive forwards quickly, stop, and let the dust settle over them, partially obscuring them from view, but also obscuring their view.
There was very little to hide behind, so dust was the only way to avoid being spotted.  The dust also hindered our spotting.
All in all, it really felt like a cool battle, and had a very authentic feel to it.  Due to the smaller caliber rounds being used by most of the tanks, a hit was not an automatic kill.  This was very different from the tank battles we are used to, with the bigger 75mm+ tank guns and lots of flaming wrecks littering the battlefield.  Some of the Honeys really soaked up quite a bit of punishment.  Of course, a hit from the Mark IV was probably going to be instant death.
That is my take on the scenario so far.  It is really nicely done, and captures the flavor of the early tank battles.  The vehicles looked good too, although I didn't really see the German ones much.  Spotting was hard, and I felt it was pretty realistic.
Thanks so much for putting this one together.  It is fun to be back in the desert, if only for a few battles.  I always enjoyed the desert battles in CMAK.

    Phil,
According to the Aftermath as stated on the Blazin' Chariots ASL Card:
"The 5th RTRs counterattack was hindered by the setting sun, which made it difficult to spot targets and judge the fall of shot.  Consequently the regiment suffered serious tank casualties without inflicting a like amount of damage on the Germans.  It's attack did succeed in putting a check on Kampfgruppe Stephan, however, which eased the desperate plight of the 8th Hussars.  When darkness put a halt to the battle, both British regiments disengaged and , according to standard procedure, withdrew to their night leaguer.  This left the Germans possessing the battlefield and allowed 5th Panzer Regiment to recover most of its knocked-out tanks.  As a result, while British losses in the engagement amounted to over forty Stuarts, the Germans suffered a net loss of 2 Pz IIIs and one Pz II.  For the 4th Armored Brigade, in whose hands the Stuart was making its combat debut, Operation Crusader was getting off to a most inauspicious start."

I just posted a new scenario called "T-Junction" for GL CMFI on my website (see below for link) and at The Few Good Men. It's playable as Canadians vs Italian AI or H2H. It's 35 minutes in duration on a hot, sunny and very dry afternoon with light winds out of the S. It is fictional but has a loose base from Mark Zuehlke's book, "Operation Husky". The Map is 400 x 320 m in size.
Anyway, hope you get a chance to play it and you enjoy it. I still have a ways to go to really put out something well polished, but I'm a lot closer now than before, so we are getting there.
Thanks, and have a great day!

Ok, I have my new website up that will be hosting the WWII scenarios that I've made. There are links on it to all the scenarios I've done to date, including a new one I finished off yesterday. There is a contact form there if anyone runs into problems downloading the games or if a scenario is defective in some way. Now, I'm a rank amateur at this still so these may or may not be up to the level of some of the top scenario designers here (almost certainly "not"), but I'm learning something new with each new scenario and hopefully they will at least be entertaining enough to have made the download (never mind the price  ) worth it.
I will tell everyone up front, my scenarios aren't always "fair". If I have a reference to a particular battle from something I've read, and the battle sounds interesting to me yet rather one sided, chances are that's how the scenario will come out as well. It won't mean that the side with the weaker forces can't win. It's just unlikely. However, given a strong player taking the weak side, anything is possible. Where situations like that have come up, generally I will try to make the time limit be somewhat restrictive, or introduce other characteristics (such as unit objectives, parameters, etc.) balance things somewhat. One example might be my latest, "The Beach House". The Allied forces dramatically out number the Italians, however, they only have 30 minutes to get off the beach and get north off an exit zone that isn't huge. The Italians, even if they are totally annihilated, may pick up considerable points if the Allies don't make it there. Anyway, I tend to play these scenarios for the enjoyment of the tactics rather than wracking up points and that's largely how my scenarios will be defined. If that's not your cup of tea, then you may want to pass them by. As long as some people get some enjoyment from them (and me too ), then I'm good with that.
Ok, you can head over to My Site and have a gander at your leisure. There are only 4 up there now, but I hope to add at least 1 more by the end of May. My goal is to add 2 to 3 a month, but don't hold me to that (I do have other things that really need tending to since I blitzed learning to make these and those things got neglected in the process). I hope you enjoy them and a huge thank you again to the many, many people here who have helped me get over the hump, as it were. None of this would be possible without you guys.
