  1. OK, Im impressed again. BTW is there any chance you could build us a windmill?
  2. Nice work friend! Please consider releasing it as a map even if you go on to make a scenario.
  3. Looks great! A bit more hilly than I would have imagined; always makes for nice surprise encounters. The patience it must take to complete such a grand design eludes me; however Im sure Ill download it and steal some sections for my own battles...hehehe
  4. Ahh, sorry Michael, yes I missed your post and I bow to your rightful elderliness (not sure if thats a word)! My 1st game was M1 Tank Platoon (Microsoft) but eventualy I worked my way through all the CM classics (BO, BB & AK). Then, Theatre of war which to me never lived up to the standards I came to expect and actualy eventualy took for granted from CM. I have high hopes for the 02 series to pick up the torch and carry us forward into the past.
  5. Well, it seems RevJak trumps us youngunz at 66! Is anyone out there willin to "fess up" as older????? RevJak are you a vet? I am, although not of combat. I am a Viet Nam era vet however I did not go to Viet Nam (Thank God). I was combat engineer (91st). I served stateside at Ft Belvoir Va. & West Point teaching both Cadets and officer candidates the dangers of landmine warfare.
  6. Nice work! Perhaps you or someone could paint a wrap around horizon (I dont know the technical name of the skyline art) that would match up with the autumn colors.
  7. I dont see how we could make many historical maps with a map maker that cant make a curve of any size and can only make 0 degrees, 45 degree and 90 degree straight roads; or am I missing something?!
  8. Rokko, Wow! Just awesome in deed. Props to you; this will be a GREAT contribution. So, I was just wondering... do you use desaturated terrain? Because I notice that the computer generated map appears to be under the shadow of a cloud compared to the distant horizon. Or in other words the surrounding border map appears "sun drenched" compared to the map texures you are using. Of course this could simply be the screen shot process or just my perception; at any rate, it doesnt take away from your brilliant work. I eagerly await further developments.
  9. Hi all, perhaps this has been brought up before but I havent seen it yet. I was wondering if anyone has tried a mod to attach foliage to camoflage tanks as Ive seen the Germans do so many times to try and evade allied air power??? Even if it was just for looks it would still be atmosperic; but it would be even better if it added a detection modifier against enemy AI checks.
  10. I didnt know this thread existed until today but I would direct you all to a thread I started recently http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=107390 It covers much of what seems to be covered here. But my BIG question is: where oh where are the Falshirmjeager troops???????????????
  11. I like your xmas wish list Sgt Shultz! I would be happy to see most of these implemented
  12. Impressive! Im using your modded buildings and am fully enjoying them in game.
  13. Good point umlaut, however the point may be lost because it realy could be Street cars (trollies) or buses or even the odd car or two or horse drawn carriages (civilian or military)! All to the same effect! There were THOUSANDS of killed and maimed horses as the Germans were still heavily relying on horses for many tasks. I would still settle for a few wrecked gliders. Perhaps a different game for me would be a relief for everyone. lol!
  14. OK Tempestzzzz! Thanx for the info. Hmmm... just an image; not virtually solid. Well that limits alot of what I wanted but I can still imagine empty parachutes in disaray laying about a drop zone or across a section of wall; what about a few hanging from some virtual trees? Perhaps one with a dead soldier hanging lifeless? Is there a size limit? Ill have to think about other possiblilities but the info you have provided will help me rethink what is possible. I cant understand why there is so little attention given to the distructive nature of war here! Maybe someone could "modify" some existing vehicles into damaged or destroyed models that could be added as as vehicles when we purchase in the senario phase... does that make sense?
  15. Hi all, I recently purchased "Battle For Normandy" and was disappointed to find no model of a glider, even a crashed one or two would be better! Anyone up to creating a static or "flavor object" glider model? I believe the US employed the WACO CG-4A. For me atmosphere or ambiance really adds to immersion so I notice the LACK of dead cows and wrecked european autos of the period. Are there modders that could pull that kind of thing off? Will the game or game engine allow statics of this nature? As long as Im challenging modders, what about bigger piles of rubble to place by damaged or destroyed buildings; you know like enough to block the narrow streets or big enough to hide behind! Also, it would make sense if there were collapsed walls and fenses as well as buildings right?! Downed trees or blackened, shattered tree trunks would add a nice touch next to a crater right? Battle for Normandy is a pretty game but war is not always pretty! We even had burning buildings in the classic Battle Front games. OK, Im wierd! Doesnt anyone else miss these things or am I asking for the moon here? Guys I want craters half filled with water for rainy scenarios. Or am I in the wrong game?
  16. New here, sorry if I missed something but I too was quite disapointed not to find the fj troops included in the $65 expanded purchase and after reading this thread the reason for the omission still eludes me. Someone mentioned that BFC already gave their explanation but where would I find this?
  17. Thank you so much guys! I was afraid I wouldnt even find anyone still playin this "old" game any more. Streety, your response is exeptionally helpful!
  18. Hey everyone! I havent been on this forum for about 3 years, I want to play africa corps again but I want to update it w/ some new mods...But I forgot how to install them! Can someone direct me to a tutorial please?
  19. Moon! BE HONEST for a moment!!! If you bought a new car & it wouldnt start & you took it back to the dealer & in part his answer was "Thousands of other cars like this start for other people" you would probably punch the guy!!!! WHO CARES IF IT STARTS FOR SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!!!!! Also somewhere in the answer you would probably like to hear some thing like" Im sorry you are having trouble with our product" Moon! BE HONEST for a moment!!!! Go ahead & ban me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Im kinda new to this & Im not much of a computer whiz but I must say that I bought Tow originally because it carried the Combat Mission & the IL2 pedigree & I thought 'how could I go wrong?'. I expected attention to detail & exeptional depth! After all these people know the hardware & the tactics, the order of battle etc. However I was somewhat dissapointed to find the game to be stripped down Eye Candy! If it was simply Combat Mission with better graphix but on a smaller scale, I would have been happier! I believe this was a step back or down for the companies potential! Because the editors are included I continue to have hopes for this game because there are some very talented & helpful people contributing here on the forums; yet even here I find the editors quite cryptic but like I said Im not much with computer teck stuff! I still play Operation Flashpoint Invasion 44 for my WW2 fix. That editor is simple! Yes the online fan based community makes that possible thus I still hope for significant improvement with Tow! Moon!!! The community seems to want more models & statics! Possible meeting engagements, or entering buildings etc. They want the game IMPROVED not extended!!!!!!!!!
  21. Gnasher! Care to share how you achieved the dark (early morning?) screenies on the St Mere Eglise post?
  22. I found this to be yet another oversight with this design team so I only use titles that I can re-use! Like 'Crossfire' or 'Red Snow' that way I can use the title later after I eliminate the folder from the single mission folder!
