  1. There is a MOD for that. Will not hurt your frames and is not graphic-intensive.
  2. How about a live stream to check out some of the functions up to this point? Does more for me than looking at screen shots.
  3. I am a member at both. Definitely recommend joining. WEBOB seems to have more CM1 interest while FGM is more CM2. Both are running tournaments for both though. Great people and threads. **** heads and unnecessary posts on stupid **** is pretty much shut down before it is started. That way you do not waste your time reading through nonsense posts.
  4. ditto here. the old alt-tab trick work somewhat for me but now it is pretty much too slow to play.
  5. updated from windows 7 pro to 10 pro with no problems. All CM2 titles run great. But I am having problems with the CM1 titles. They are running very slow. Slide show slow. Before updating they were fine. Anyone else having problems with CM1? Just did some researching here and found out the old Alt-Tab trick will work. Problem solved for now.
  6. vehicles are not tied to AS but infantry are? Can someone explain why? Sorry guys just curious reading through this discussion.
  7. Not to derail the current discussion but this is related. Why is it that when you try to move a previously issued waypoint from infantry it snaps from AS to AS but sometimes when you move the AS of a vehicle it allows you to fine tune and pretty much move it where you desire?
  8. http://community.battlefront.com/topic/118683-h2h-internet-connect/?hl=hamachi#entry1592287 Here you go. If you know how to port forward then you should be able to get this to work without Hamachi. For those of us that do not, Hamachi is a simple way to allow the connection. I have been using it for years with no problems. It is also a simple chat room. pop in see who is online ask for a game. pretty simple.
  9. Very nice! I really like those snow effects on the uni's and boots. Good job there.
  10. Great job on this! By far the best camo jobs I have seen. As far as weathering I think they look good as is. Looks like there is some slight weathering already applied. Keep up the nice work.
  11. when you hit the red button it saves in your outgoing folder and sends it as an EMA file. If you want to partially take your turn, just open the incoming EMA file, do your thing and hit the save button. When it asks you for a name just add a "xxx" to the end or something. It will save as a BTS file as it should. When you open it back up and finish your move, hit the little red button and then give it the correct next turn number. This will save it as an EMA in your outgoing pbem folder ready to send to your opponent.
  12. Go get a life! Senseless post. No need for it.
  13. Sent the gift over. Not sure how it works but it says you will get instructions on how to install. You might have to install Steam if you do not already have it. Your choice. Enjoy and look into single player scenarios as there might be some fun ones. I know for ARMA 3 I have played a decent amount that are pretty fun.
  14. I know Capt. did not recommend ARMA but I beg to differ. If this is the type of game you are into or looking for ARMA will be just fine. In fact there are a couple guys over at TFGM that run scenarios almost every Sunday. I ran once with them and it was a blast. Problem is they are overseas and playing at 700am is not my cup of tea.
  15. I can hook you up with a free copy of ARMA Cold War Assault- full game - not the demo. It is not ARMA 3 but will do you for awhile. If you are interested either shoot me your Steam name or an email address.
  16. There is 'no' difference in noise levels. Move, Quick, Fast, and Slow all make the same amount of noise. Plus, you have to be pretty close to the enemy for a sound contact to even pop up. I would of done exactly what you did and quick through 75% of those woods. If you did not have armor he would not have know you were there. Now your armor is a different story. As soon as they started to move through those woods I guarantee he seen a noise contact. So he knows what is coming.
  17. I would let the INF gun target briefly for 30 or 45 second clips. I always say it is better to expend the ammo firing and maybe hitting something rather than die without firing a shot - like happens so often with INF or AT guns. Save the mortars unless you put them on light harassing fire.
  18. Do you have any type of LOS from that ATG? If so, "Area Fire" right in front of the tank. I have had multiple shots succeed when I area fire without LOS and still score hits. Area target will hit that AS sometimes high and sometimes low. If you get lucky that shot may sail high and into the AS of the tank. Worth a shot.
  19. +1 Appreciate you guys making this game better and better.
  20. I have yet to see a unit ignore a CA and return fire when fired upon or hit in all titles before BS. Like I said a unit will break arc if it goes into defense mode. Not sure how this is determined (randomly - I guess). I have seen a unit hit multiple times by 30mm cannon and just sit there and take it. I have seen a unit lose its main gun from this and then break arc, pop smoke and reverse. I have also seen a unit beak arc when lased. I have seen a unit sit there and NOT break arc when lased. I have seen a tanks APS intercept two or three shots and still not break arc. I have seen a tank intercept one shot, smoke, and then break arc. Apparently the code works so that in some situations arc should be ignored and self defense overrides it and sometimes the CA sticks. Slow Motion hit the nail on the head: I have yet to see a unit return fire instead of smoking out and reversing to find cover. All of the above that I describe are random. Nothing happens all the time. Just so the OP is clear on his question.
  21. I believe "until self-preservation" means that your unit with the arc will try to back away or find cover from the more dangerous threat. I have NEVER seen a vehicle with a cover arc return fire if being fired upon outside of their arc. Please attach an example if you have one. I would be interested in seeing that. We used to have this in the good ole' CMX1 games. If a vehicle had a CA and was 'spotted' by an enemy he would drop the arc and either return fire or find cover I believe. Not sure why this was dropped from the new generation games?
  22. +1 on that. Has been a problem since day one. A troop "toggle stance" button would be nice to see over small bushes or grass.
  23. Look up Chris Hare's Unit Databases for the old games. Will give you actual numbers and not seconds in game but it is better than nothing.
  24. Just watched the first part of ChrisND's new video on CMBS. I am pretty sure I seen a similar situation earlier in the video but this one is of a AP round being stopped by a tree. Does not look like this was worked on for the new game. For the beta testers----are bushes stopping AP rounds too? Just curious if this is even being looked at or is it a limitation of the game engine where nothing can really be done about it. I do recall seeing an earlier vid from him showing how trees will be destroyed a lot easier so hopefully this is getting some attention.
  25. Appreciate the help Scipio. I do agree with you on your "unified" statement. Allowing us to play CMFI and CMRT maps in CMBN would be cool.
