    I would get away from calling TOW a "RTS" game. When that is stated I think more of Command and Conquer or Men of War. Mass produce units and then roll over your opponent. TOW is far from this.

    Some of the stuff that TOW does in terms of penetration calculations, to-hit calculations, and other physics in the game, in fact surpass what CM is going.

    As Moon stated above TOW has alot more going on than what the one time lookers think. If you buy the game and play through the campaigns you will understand. I have been playing both games since they have been released and agree that they are different but they are more alike than what you think.

    This argument can be compared to the old-timers playing combat mission vs. the old-timers playing close combat. It is all preference on what you like. I think the hard core CM players will stick to CM and really dont play TOW anyhow so this will not really put TOW in its grave or vise versa. TOW has its own small following and will remain beside CM.

  3. The files inside the Modpack are not working "as is". We need to make configuration files for them first if they're to work in game. For example, all the buildings and static objects needs to be added to the static.ini file in the folder data/settings.

    As for the maps, if you check the folders of the new maps, you'll find only the texture for the

    per Knokke.

    Unless you really have experience working with these files I would forget it. Knokke and them have a really good grasp on the in game files and could not get the items you ask about working. It is a shame but I would just forget it until one of those guys figures it out.

  4. I have not played this mission but had similar experiences on others. I found that if you move forward too quickly and put the enemy into retreat mode they will move off the map - thus your problem. I would usually have to restart the mission and simply try to bait them into advancing far enough forward so I could disable them in the playable field. Not sure if this will work on this scenario as I have not played it yet but its worth a try. Frustrating I know.

  5. Sounds like you are on top of this. Hopefully you can get them working in TOW1. I wanted to make a city map like Tartari started (Berlin) with higher buildings blocking LOS. Anyone know of any 3 or 4 story buildings that were created??

    I looked at your discussion with Knokke on getting these buildings to work but I do not totally follow how to get them in a workable state. If you have time could you send or post instructions on how you got some of them to work? Thanks.

  7. I agree about the monthly fee but right now you can sign up for the Alpha and play for free (for now). I am highly doubting that they are going to get enough people online to do this. Just my opinion.

    Serg - This game is no where near a threat to BF. Its a web browser game and I doubt it is going to steal any loyal customers away. Just thought we were free to share things here. If BF sees a problem with this and closes the thread, I really do not care. It is not like I am getting a free subscription with every 10 players I recruit.
