  1. AFAIK Some are solo some are MP. The files usually tell you if they can be played solo or not.
  2. I think scouting ability has a definite impact. You could test it with a quick battle - make a simple op with 2 opposing identical tanks in the editor & tweak the crews e.g. 100% vs 10% scouting on command stats & see how it goes.
  3. I have all ToWs installed & never see any clashes. Maybe your AV is blocking something related to Africa? I have all the ToW exes in my exclusions list.
  4. Steam has just done some updating of ToW2 - a 'files converted to more efficient format' run  + a <13mb patch. Game & editor exes & some dlls updated. Hopefully 1c have made some positive changes.
  5. Sorry I missed the "," from "According to Steam Forum, binaries & SFS are being updated." Meaning game .bin etc rather than 'just' steam client interface etc. Could all be Steam related though....
  6. According to Steam Forum binaries & SFS are being updated. No idea what that specifically means but as core files I would say someone finally decided to address 'something' Where is a changelog when we need one?
  7. There are some bits for ToW 1 & 2 here if you don't already have them.
  8. I would really like to see more ToW, esp. a Cold War 'ToW Fulda Gap' or similar. After seeing the promo video & the huge unit list I'd hoped Wargame European Escalation might have something to offer. Youtube shows otherwise. (at least as far as I'm concerned.) I shan't be straying too far from my ToW collection anytime soon by the looks of things.
  9. ...a bit more thread hi-jacking! As something of a footnote - I found this particularly telling - (ref p265-7 of Charles Whitings' book.) sburke & Sirocco - Thanks for the book titles I shall look out for those.
  10. With ref to comments by TrailApe & Michael Emrys - It has to be said the class-system in the UK has 'always' encouraged the placement of 'Upper-Class Twits' in positions of command. The net result is a whole lot of avoidable errors both on & off the battle-field. The best understanding I have gained of US Army Command activity in WW2 was the result of reading The Battle of Hurtgen Forest by Charles Whiting. That gave me some clear insight into what kind 'tactical thinking' could occur. ...just my dimes' worth.
  11. I would say will work for best results. If you don't already have all the extras you need from links on this forum, there is a collection of files mirrored here which includes JSH 135 & the Bulldogs campaign. When you are done with that be sure to play Arzoks Uchronic missions.
  12. I hope the devs don't bin this series as it is one of the best there is. It can always be improved but there are so many great moments in the battles. Just watched a US tank destroyer & a Pz IV simultaneously kill each other at close range. Wish the game had a video mechanism that allowed you to rove around afterwards watching all the little events you must miss when playing. Looks like the cause of the slowdowns on newer rigs may have been identified at last. Can Windows dynamic boost + video drivers somehow kill the CPU affinities...? Be interesting to see if the devs leave it to the players to fix the issue or whether they patch it now something that could be a starting point for debugging has been found.
  13. Has anyone tried the 'this solution'?
  14. editor is your friend comments show you how to easily alter the balance to your liking via the veterancy (example is ToW1 but the same logic applies) You can alter a single soldier or a whole unit/crew. Like it says, even reducing a single tank from elite to regular can change the whole battle. If that isn't enough you can add or remove units....
  15. Looks good Arzok. I wonder if the jeeps passenger is a new recruit? He seems to be trying to change his trousers....
  16. collisions - столкновения / коллизия ? You mean - группы / коллекций? I know this is 3d shell , one has to provide the "data sheet" to model interaction with game engine. Then it all has to be linked up & tested. JSH added vehicles, so did the ToW2 Africa balance mod. Not impossible, just not drag & drop.
  17. Seems to be OK to use - Can contact them to make sure. I was thinking of a straight 3ds to msh conversion (there are some free tools about) but started thinking about scaling....How does ToW define 'physical' unit size? It must be possible to find out how to set different guns & arcs for multiple turrets etc. Rendering the animations of multiple turrets may be tricky I guess. There are other formats available & lots of different models Possibility for the Japanese Type 95 Ha-Go. Would make a nice Uchronic Japan vs Russia skirmish (re-igniting the early C20 conflict). Not that we need more work of course...
  18. Looking good Arzok. Wondering how difficult it would be to import this beast T-35a could make a good Uchronie toy
  19. OK, I get that you are all about statistically dubious opinions & inaccuracy e.g. -When I say posts I don't mean threads, there are active posters talking about & playing this game. Bottom line - I was suggesting the option of looking elsewhere when you aren't being fed by the devs. Even 'big' sellers like Total War have users improving their base games. It is a normal situation, not a conspiracy to hijack your thread.
  20. No new posts? Really? I can access all those files so I know the links are fine. Wargames are a niche market but the people that play them tend to be a committed community. Enthusiasts learn the skills & take the time to develop/improve what they care about. It isn't coincidence that BFC & 1C have produced games that get the enthusiast community involved in the creative process. There are people playing & modding this series all over the world.
  21. Check my threads for D/L URLs. Considering the quality of the fan mods (including increased accuracy & detail + new units) you are missing out on a lot of quality work by ignoring them.
  22. I suspect the 'easiest' way to get the units you want is via mods. There are some dedicated & skilled modders in the ToW community. It is also possible to try making those mods yourself. A Jagdtiger could be a good start. The possibility exists with ToW to make your own campaigns etc, Arzok & Gnasher have done some great stuff for ToW1. Tartari is undertaking the mammoth task of importing ToW1 & 2 maps & matériel to ToW3. I would like the devs to produce some WW2 content for the ToW3 engine but in the meantime we are lucky to have Tartari! If 1C ultimately don't want to continue development of ToW they have at least provided some tools to allow the gamers to make some really great additions to the series content.
