  1. @CogNative: Glad you're enjoying it! I may just have something up my sleeve in 2009 . . . Thanks Santa FMB. Got through your excellent Sun Driven "mini" Campaign. M.V. - I think 4 KIA @ 14 wounded. I admit my M5 was in a less than desirable fashion as I had little time to run the gauntlet. I will go back and play it through in true (as designed) MOUT fashion. Your "mini" Campaign has been distinguished recreation for me and my recommendations for Infantry oriented folks.
  2. Disobedient; Badly Behaved... but Not "Naughty." I suspect there are many Wayward Warrior salamander sagas... especially Navy... they got big boats and all. We were discussing amphibious assault:cool:
  3. Reminds me of the VN Water Buffalo story one buddy shared. He wasted the Old Lady's Water Buffalo as it came out of thick vegetation towards his unit in the VC held area they were patrolling. The Old Lady was mortified and adrift in her world. His entire unit (101 Airborne Screaming Eagle "Duty-Honor Country" ) felt so bad they collected more than enough funds to replace the Water Buffalo.
  4. You like Mods? You will like z-Bee CMSF Mod Manager. It works great on my MacBook Pro! IMO, Battlefront should consider a user friendly Mod Manager in their CMx2 games now that their Repository is running. Not in any way tot take away form CMMODS. "It is a necessary tool if you like you game to have authentic look." The quality mods are out there and a Mod Manager is the easy way to use these mods for greater game value, IMO. Thanks to theFightingSeabee.
  5. Yes, The uniform mods not Ensatina eschscholtzi. Thanks for your fine looking Universal Beach Kit water mod birdstrike. It looks fine. Just need to fire up a scenario in it soon.
  6. You just need to make do with the saves that you have at the beginning of each mission. Good reason for the UI feature of Quick Save in V1.11? Santa? Got 10 minutes to go in M3 on my 2nd try. Thanks FMB.
  7. "I am including two 'Save Point' missions that immediately precede the two monster map scenarios.." Great Idea PT. "Still no v.11 patch but I'm confident that we'll have it in time for the holidays, hopefully before this weekend." You must have been good all year PT. V1.11 before the Christmas holiday weekend! Yes, It does look like a cow from that angle! The rest of The Road to Dimas get better every time I tune in. "..there'll be plenty for your infantry to do as well." Thanks PT.
  8. Amphibious Assault - theFightingSeabee - Why of course folks suited for both land and water operations are gonna get a kick out of this mod:D Got your mod and look fwd to testing your painted salamander mod tonight. It looks amazing! Thanks birdstrike.
  9. M2 did fine. Use what you got and you will do fine. M3 Hmm? Much tougher than I thought and with a sassy back side slap. Will have to try M3 again. Dawn to Setting Sun is an excellent scale and refreshing no armor campaign. Another Village, Town no armor campaign for 2009... Please? Thanks FMB and all the testers.
  10. Quite handsome Gordon. I tend to lean toward your "old school" plain Russian mod but both flavors are excellent. Thanks.
  11. Did Mission One w/o any KIA. Enjoyable. Now onto M2 fun run. Thanks FMB and all the testers.
  12. "The surrounding mountains and buildings erupted in an ambush: The soldiers estimate that more than 200 fighters opened up with rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and AK-47s. ... An F-15 made a strafing run to push back the fighters, but it wasn't enough...." Yes... Thank God for Close Air Support and the determination for all the Silver Stars in the belly of the beast and to make it out alive... with each other.
  13. Just got it ND and will give your McKenna MOUT Site Scenarios a run through tonight. Thanks! Great idea. Should be not only fun but functional for folks new to CMSF.
  14. XMas is looking even brighter with all the user created talent. Thanks to all. 2 x 2km - 4 x 4km = Reason for CAS. Who wants ride to the target when you can fly high into the wild blue yonder and blow stuff up:rolleyes: Just snagged the 'Normal Dude' MOUT and Range fun. Gotta wait to fire it up but sounds destructively delicious. Wait was that V1.11 in the sock:confused:
  15. ND... Thanks for the concept and indoor holiday range later today. Maybe a desired BFC inclusion for the next demo of the game? "collecting our tests results in a single thread and help people understand better the capabilities of each weapon." Great idea AB.
  16. I appreciate your question but I can't answer with experience. That said "Just how bad is the TOW in Real Life"... I will not a volunteer. I suspect a close miss is a VERY bad day.
  17. The QBG Santa! Thanks for this holiday gift. Maybe BFC will toss a V1.11 in the sock as well? Ken said it well, "I think that the best CMSF scenarios are far better than the best CMBB scenarios. In that regard, I agree with you; CMSF quality CAN be fantastic." It takes work to do this in CMSF. Example, Paper Tiger! His dedication to doing campaigns is admirable and appreciated. There many good CMSF scenarios and mods. CMBB has been around since 2003? and is easier to ... well as Bigduke6 stated, the complexity of scenario design has driven away some talent. Patience and / or practice. I tried making some platoon sized scenarios / maps and it takes time. Fun = Yes but CMSF takes time because it is that much better than CM1.
  18. "...the special versions that will be needed for those who choose to accept a result and not follow the optimal path to the finish." I nice way to say get stumped:) Dan is right. Great work PT. I hope a BFC Elf sticks a v1.11 in your sock.
  19. Was it the Indian Military that had the Blue & White Tiger stripes in Mumbai? USMC Clear and Present Danger is fun. Thanks.
  20. You don't want to fight your way through 15 missions just to get to a totally unwinnable finale. Include me PT. I can only imagine the frustration of 15 missions and no brass ring! 1.11 pre Holidays?
  21. "... three platoons of Marines in the Jungles of South America hunting a Syrian terrorist." Fired it up last PM briefly and already got into a dense firefight! Looks good. Playing well. Now on to look for bad guys and their stash. Maybe I should use the SOF Black mod
  22. With the new modular business model BFC has got to have enough retirement cash stashed for maybe a very small country:D
