Use the Target Light command but the Tac AI will override that if the tank spots something that is perceived to be a threat requiring use of the main armament - an irritating example of this being dismounted tank crews getting lots of HE love.

The Former Yugoslavia eventually being one of those "Do Sumfink" moments on the back of bad stuff happening which was prominent in a media environment sans the interweb/Twitter etc for quite a while against a backdrop of a fair degree of political inertia for a fair few years.  Thankfully then the media had a vague idea of what its job was but then again that area of the world remains mired in dispute.

High praise indeed ... you wouldn't be saying that though if you knew the head scratching that is going on right now over some of the scenarios I'm doing for the official titles.  I've always said that my work is fairly meat and potatoes stuff and I generally make sure I limit my ambition to what is easily achievable in the editor which saves a lot of heartache and I think trips up many newcomers to scenario design.  There are better scenario designers out there for sure such as @benpark, @George MC, @MOS:96B2P and @Pete Wenman to name a few.  The advice I've given to @TheFriendlyFelon (who I owe an email or two when I've got time) was pretty simple stuff and really all his concept needed was a second pair of eyes to help him over a mental block for one of the scenarios in the campaign.  Whatever the final campaign looks like will I'm sure prove enjoyable and interesting, the work he has done is of an exceptional standard for a newcomer to the game.  I certainly didn't have to tell him how to make maps which is one of my strengths.

Just went through this scenario (played a good 30 minutes). Such a great map. Immersive and well planned out.
I will play it through this weekend. @Combatintman is the go to member for maps & scenarios so what ever he says go with it.

In isolation? Maybe not. But look through your last x posts and be honest to yourself how many of them were actually meaningful contributions to discuss and understand what is going on and which were mostly venting frustration and name-calling.
See, and this is why I made such a post. Scholz' way of communicating is far below optimal and there a quite a few things where we could have an interesting discussion about what he decided and what he didn't decide. I would very much like to do that.
Except we actually can't because some people here instantly go into rant mode and that precludes any fruitful discussion. As I said several times already, criticize Scholz as much as you like, there are enough reasons to do that. What annoys me, though, is double standards, dishonesty and this whole "everyone who doesn't share my opinion is in league with Putin!"-business.
I'm okay with calling a politician spineless. What you guys actually mean, though, is, he doesn't decide the way I want. The SPD (and I didn't vote for them) is clearly not a bunch of Putin friends. They happen to believe in different things than you do. And before you answer: "but Schroeder!" He is just one guy. And no, deciding against giving tanks to Ukraine is not hurting NATO. It may hurt Ukraine (I say "may" because the discussion here in this forum is still ongoing). But, and sorry if that doesn't sit well with everyone here, NATO is an alliance for mutual defense not for arms delivery. The NATO treaty does not say that if one country or several send weapons to some country then others have to follow. And neither do any EU treaties. It hurts relations between some of the member nations, true, but that is not the same thing. If you have a different opinion - see "double standards" above. You could as well accuse the Polish government of hurting NATO for going ahead without getting an ok beforehand. You could, I don't.
Lastly, you should consider this: I don't know what the decision will be in the end. But Scholz, for all his failings, is still the democratically elected leader of the German government. I may not be ok with what he decides but that's democracy. If he decides to not give tanks to Ukraine, he is well within his rights to do so. That is his call to make, not Selensky's, not Duda's and not Biden's. Please respect that. We can, of course, discuss whether that would be a good decision.
The part of this conflict that is about national sovereignty and democracy would be completely meaningless if we can't respect the decisions of democratically elected governments of sovereign nations.

As the designer I agree - it is playable H2H for sure but whoever takes the Soviets needs to be a CM ninja and the whoever takes the Americans needs to be a decidedly average player like me.  It is certainly winnable as Soviet vs American AI as this was proved in testing.

I'd wait for an official announcement before bandying around time frames such as 'some little little weeks' - we know it is being worked on but that is about it.

You must have a different edition to mine then, in my version the backstory for most of the characters simply states what position they occupy and vaguely how long they'd been in it.  Character development is complementary to the action narrative and in the main that revolves around the straight out of armour school lieutenant evolving from someone whose every peace time action involves an interview sans coffee to combat actions which earn him the trust of his superiors and subordinates.

Glad you enjoyed To Verdenne and Victory - that was one of my two scenarios for CMFB.  I wouldn't be so down on computer controlled AI - I think there are some titles where it suits quite well and I'm mainly thinking Cold War here.  If you want a more realistic experience of what it would be like to be on the end of a Soviet Battalion attack then a well-designed AI plan put together by someone who has a thorough understanding of how a Cold War Soviet battalion would attack delivers that better than a human player who will likely employ tactics that they know to have the most optimal effect.  @George MC pulled this off very effectively under @Bil Hardenberger's tutelage in the NTC campaign for Cold War.  Nonetheless, there is no doubt that humans are more challenging opponents and at the end of the day, so long as you're enjoying the game, that's all that matters.

Friendly bonus simply awards the allocated number of VPs no matter what the player does or does not do.  If it is set at 100 VPs, those 100 VPs always get awarded.  Designers generally use them in asymmetric situations - they were used a lot in CMSF scenarios to give a boost to the unconventionals/Syrian sides.
