  1. That's the key... I can see it now. China, very angry that we just drove the price of oil up to $200/barrel, decides to invade Taiwan. The American economy, already in recession (let's face it folks, we are already there), would crumble under these kind of oil prices. What would $10 a gallon do to your wallet? Not to mention your employer's profits? The US would be in no position to oppose China in Taiwan. Argue all you want about carrier fleets coming to the rescue - China will beat us economically. They already could crash the dollar. We piss them off by opposing a Taiwan invasion and it could be lights-out for the US before we knew what hit us. All of which would be compounded by ridiculously high oil prices. The US cannot occupy Iran because we cannot get that far into the conflict. We would be on our economic knees in three weeks.
  2. I'd also love to see an '80s Fulda Gap mod. But even more so, I'd love to see the Berlin Blockade turn hot. How about the US & Brits vs. the Soviets in 1949. I'd love to see if Lucius Clay could've made it to Berlin. Any takers? Let's start a petition
  3. Not to be a smartass, but turn down your speaker volume. I think the track gets pretty old too and I just turn down my speakers while it's loading. Simple and 100 percent effective.
  4. I want to apologize for being an abysmal jerk earlier. I was a little too mean-spirited in my posts. Adam was right, this thing should be locked down tighter than Al Capone's vault. Cool Breeze, best of luck man. I really don't know if there are any merits to your claims, but if there are, go for it.
  5. I have religiously read these forums for the past 6 months. I managed to bite my tongue and stay out of all the 1.05 flaming wars. But you....you are just too good to pass up. I mean, look at what you are saying! If the internet is where you feel you must turn, try doing a little research first. You have Janes, GlobalSecurity and I'm sure a slew of other sites that could offer evaluations of geopolitical hot spots and the constitutions of the military forces that are arrayed in those arenas. But where have you turned? You came to a game forum. For the love of all that is good in this world, do you really expect anyone to take you seriously after that decision? Personally, I'd recommend going to your school's engineering department and getting a few contacts from the faculty. I have often found that professors sit square in the middle of some fairly effective networks. So, if you have a genuinely innovative idea, they would be more than happy to arrange some meetings with the right people. However, judging by your communication skills, it appears to me that you are not going to an institution of higher learning. That you really need to worry less about finding a way to stop ATGMs and should start worrying more about finding a way out of your Parent's basement.
  6. Alright, forget the ATGM crap. I just invented a cure for the Hangover. Guys, can you tell me what far-reaching implications this may have for society? Can I unleash my beast on the world? I'm frightened and not sure what to do.
  7. Thanks! I've actually lurked here for a very long time and I go way back to CMBO. I guess it just takes the crazies to drag me out of the closet. Did I just say out of the closet? Geez...
  8. I've never heard that one before. I'm going to be laughing for days! Coolbreeze, does this require a DeLorean and 1.21 gigawatts? I think warping in and out of 1955 while the ATGM screams by is absolutely brilliant.
