  1. Thanks for the answers. By '1945' do you mean the end of the December turn, or do you mean end of May (historical).
  2. I am playing the standard 1939 scenario as the Allies PBEM. It is the end of August 1945 and the war continues. Hitler is dead and the Allies are just over the Rhine and the Russians just took Prague and are approaching Berlin. When will the scenario end? Do the Allies ever get an A Bomb to drop on Germany (which may have happened if the war in Europe lasted until late 1945. Are the Allies penalized by taking so long to take Berlin? If I read the victory conditions correctly, I will still get a Major Victory if I take Rome and Berlin. Thanks.
  3. I would like to see a 1939 standard scenario provided as well, one which uses the new map, rules and AI. How about a 1941 scenario as well? These would not be hard to code and would attract new SC2 gamers who prefer traditional WWII scenarios.
  4. Hi Hubert, I have emailed you the saved game.
  5. Hi Hubert, This seems to happen intermittently but always when I am using the N key to locate the next unmoved naval unit, as the Allies. How do I attach the saved PBEM games - it is the Allies turn? The password is dg Thanks.
  6. Sometimes when I use the N key to get the Next unit, I get this pop-up: ERROR FAILED (mouse_on_rect) Segment Violation Then I get a Visual Basic popup telling me that there is a problem, then the game crashes to the desktop. I am running Windows XP. I have tried two disimilar computers, but get the same problem with the N key.
  7. Thanks for the reply, Hubert. What about reducing the time to build destroyed corps and armies by 1 or 2 turns? This would help the Russians stop the Axis horde, and would simulate staff and some seasoned troops escaping to re-build old units - faster than building them from scratch.
  8. I appreciate all the great defensive setup pointers, guys. This will help me a lot. Perhaps I could here from the Developer and/or Scenario Developer about the huge discrepancy between the Russian forces in the Barbarossa scenario vs the maximum potential Russian start units + builds to June '41, starting with the '39 scenario. Thanks.
  9. I am playing the '39 scenario as the Allies at normal setting. I built as much as I could as the Russian, while spending some on research. Besides 1 tank, I only built Inf armies and corps. The Axis AI attacked in May or June '41 - cutting through my front armies like butter. I had even pulled back 2-4 hexes from the border, in defensible terrain. By late November Leningrad is almost gone, I am barely holding on to Moscow, Sevastopol is going and Rostov has fallen. I am starting to get Siberians, but they will barely help me hold Moscow. The problem is that the initial Russian setup plus peacetime production does do not have enough initial units to both have some kind of a front line screen as well as have a few reserves to hold cities back from the border. Replacing killed armies takes 4 turns (8 weeks) -which is too long. Perhaps replaced armies, as well as being cheaper (which they are), should be built faster (2-3 turns). I fired up the Barbarossa scenario and the initial Russian forces are at least double what I could muster starting in Sept '39, plus the research points were almost double what I had managed to scrape together in my game. Why such a difference in the Russian armed forces between the Barbarossa setup and the '39 forces plus the allowable builds '39-'41? I expected some differences, but not by a factor of 200%. I am an old wargamer so I know how to play the Russians in defense. Any ideas?
  10. Just got WAW - was a little disappointed that there was not a WAW updated Pacific Theatre campaign. Does anyone have plans to convert the entire world campaign from SC2 Blitzkrieg? Thanks.
  11. Enjoyed playing the WAW demo as the Allies on normal level. I noticed that the Axis AI player could not take Paris within the time limit of the demo. Is this because the AI, like myself, was not able to buy new units, thus was handicapped? Also, instead of pushing to take Paris, once the Maginot line was broken/evacuated by me, the AI player moved 2 armor and 1 inf unit South to attempt to take Marseilles to assist the Italians, who were having a difficult time. Otherwise the AI seemed to play a pretty smart game. What are the surrender conditions for France?
