Is it just me? Is this server ever up? I've got little faith in ToW 2's supposed improved multi-player if they cannot even keep the ToW server up and running.

A player had made some great movies explaining how to use the mission editor back in the day... Anybody know where I can find them? Thanks.

That's great that there is going to be ToW 2, totally excited. But 1C doesn't keep much watch over the MP search server for ToW 1... It is down more than it is up which makes finding opponents to play that much harder. I have checked the MP server in ToW ten or more times in the last week, only once did I see an actual game going and most of the time the server isn't even up. Not trying to be negative, I just am skeptical of ToW 2 MP.

I'd love to, but the multiplayer search service is down yet again. I managed to find a player on CMHQ's chat, but the MP server is down... That's awesome that they are going to release a ToW2 when they can't even keep the ToW MP search server up...

Doh, looks to be down again. I check every couple of days just in case there might be a possibility of getting a game going. I think doing a small to medium sized battle in real-time could be great fun .

Blech, Vista takes a bit to get used to. I found the PBEM being saved in some weird directory of Microsoft's creation. I'm guessing it has to do with Run as Admin and all that silliness. Prob solved though .

Aha, then the behavior is not so bizarre with respect to the pathing, nice.

I'm not sure the best way to do this but the only way I can think of is to sit in the MP area of ToW with a game in the process of being created. Anyone want to pick a time to try this? I am available 4:00pm to 12:00pm pacific time, post here if you want to give it a shot.

So I finish my setup turn and save it to send to the other player. It saves fine, I can see it in the PBEM directory and even try to load it (which I can't because I do not have the Allied password). So I got out to the desktop, navigate to the directory in preparation to attach it to an e-mail and send it only it is not there. The previous few turns are in the PBEM directory but not the new one I just completed and saved. I go back into CMBB and again I *can* see the file and try to load it from within the game. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the help guys. So I tried the first mission of the lightning campaign tonight with a couple weird results... I told 2 M1A1s to perch themselves on the berm to their immediate right as a sort of "take a peek" armored recon as my first move. This they did fine but they were parked on the reverse side of the slope with their barrels fully depressed and still pointed at maybe 20 degrees up from the horizon line. Yet they were shooting at and taking out targets that were below the horizon, looked bizarre (never saw anything like that in CM 1 games). So I order the remaining 2 M1A1s next turn to drive past the 2 on the berm and into the flat area beyond. I assumed that since the first 2 could climb the berm these next 2 would be able to climb it as well and then drive a further 40 yards or so. Hehe, they decided to go for a drive *all* the way down to where a road bisected the berm where they exposed their flanks U-turning back to the destination I gave them, a T-55 immobilizing one of them. Ah well, on the positive side I can say the vehicle models look great.

Excellent! I figured they must be in there somewhere. So I just need to play through the campaigns to see them? Hopefully I can use the in QBs as well. I apologize if the original post sounded overly negative and critical. I am a big fan of this series and most likely I just need to get used to the new format of CMx2. Chris

I bought CM: SF today and was pretty disappointed with how everything seems to be changed from the earlier CM series that I love so much. My favorite was always the Quick Battles where you can choose all your units etc.. So I am excited to try a modern warfare version of CM, I install and patch it and then start creating my first QB with it. Well, everything seems dumbed down with much less options. I wanted to command some modern Russian tanks, but the only one I can seem to find is one version of the T-72 under the Republican Guards? Please tell me there are others, just for the sake of variety an old T-54 or T-55? Some other versions of the T-72 possibly? T-80Us or T-84s from Ukraine? Thanks.
