  1. Does it mean that the CM:N will base on 4x4m Action Spots? And, will the CMSF series go down to 4x4m Action Spots in further patchs? Thanks:-)
  2. Joachim, Thanks for your replies. Your suggestions are useful to me while playing the game. Best Regard!
  3. Thanks Joachim! But which was the reason that caused the LOS to go away? The pinned men sneaked to reverse dirction out of the LOS, or the "pinned status" plus "reverse slope"? Do you have an idea? Best Regard!
  4. Can the soldiers get additional covers when they stand on an open ground behind ridge but with LOF between forward enemies ? Looking the picture below, can the Germany soldiers be protected by the "reverse slope"? I tested it just now, it seems "reverse slope" did not provide any protection. Thanks very much!
  5. hi! Steve. I am sure there is not a subtle rise in the terrain or that is Tall Grass, just like my another picture below. In the picture, one guy must have LOS with the target. Beacuse I gave "PAUSE ORDER" before the testing, so I prefered to believe that the LOS info display is not 100% in sync with the movement, just like what Moon had said.
  6. But what about this picture below? How can the LOS pass through the building? It seems there are some issue during the map arithmetic.
  7. Is there anybody who encountered the same trouble with me? Or my picture is not visual?
  8. Sorry to point out a blemish at this happy time. In the picture below, "USMC Streets of Hama" MISSION, the LOF should be gray (had partial LOF), but not be navy blue (had not LOF at all).
  9. I'm sure that I did not issue the "Hide" command. I issued "pause" command when my squad was sneaking, then my squad stood still without shooting to the enemies in field of vision, even if the squad had spotted the enemies. Best Regard!
  10. According to my experience, when sending a "pause" order to a squad which is moving, the squad could still perform "target" order. Using this microoperation, I won some battles with zero casualty. Targeting in the pausing state is important to me when microoperating. But sometimes, I paused a squad which was moving when they spotted the enemies, then I sent "target" order from the squad to the enemies, but the squad stood still doing nothing, even if the squad had clear LOF with the enemies. For example, in map AI Amarah, my squad sneaked from one room to another. When they spotted the enemies, the AI did nothing execpt keeping to sneak(all the process went all right ). Then I paused my squad, sent "target" order from my squad to the enemies manually, but my squad stood still with nothing to do. Finally, the enemies killed my squad members one by one. 11. I just want to know more about this game. The more I know it, the more I like it, the more I hope it to be perfect. Regard! popllt
  12. Steve, So there are only two kinds of contacts(entirety LOS or no LOS) between two Action Spots, right? Are there other kinds of contacts between two Action Spots? For example, two Action Spots have partial LOS between each other, etc. Regard! popllt
  13. Oh! Sorry,I mean "inaccurate". [ January 25, 2008, 06:43 AM: Message edited by: popllt ]
  14. Other Means, I agree with you. But it seems so inaccurate when each side only has one soldier left. popllt [ January 25, 2008, 06:35 AM: Message edited by: popllt ]
  15. But what will happen when each side only has one soldier left? I guess the only soldier could never be placed in the "blue area" in this case. Regards! popllt
  16. Hi Steve, Maybe the picture below can explain myself a bit more. According to the picture, obviously, Action Spot "A" has LOS with Action Spot "B".Could you tell me, whether or not, the soldiers in the "blue area" of both the Action Spot could spot each other? Thanks! popllt pic:
  17. Steve, Thanks for your patience. But I still have a little doubt. See the picture below please. As what you have said, the soldiers could use the LOS information of the Action Spot he is in, so theoretically the soldier in the Action Spot "A" could spot the soldier in the Action Spot "B" because Action Spot "A" has LOS with Action Spot "B" in this picture. But actually the soldiers in the both Action Spot can not spot each other. This is accurate but inconsistent with what you have said above. Could you explain this to me? Thanks! popllt pic: [ January 23, 2008, 05:07 AM: Message edited by: popllt ]
  18. Maybe the "v1.05 NEW FEATURES" can help: When placing a Target order, the LOS line turns yellow if it's generally clear, but not perfectly so. This means either *some* soldiers in the spotting unit may not have a clear LOS or *some* of the target zone may not be visible. popllt
  19. Thanks Steve. This sound good! I think I nearly get it. But how do you solve the situation at which none of the soldiers in the Action Spot actually have clear LOS to enemy units, while the Action Spot they are in has LOS? Should they spot the enemy units? For example, a squad has only one soldier left. How do you calculate one soldier's LOS? Also base on 8*8m grid? As you have said, LOF is specific to the soldier's actual position within the Action Spot. So even a individual soldier's actual position has a small Action Spot by which you calculate the individual soldier's LOF. what is the acreage? 2*2m or 1*1m? popllt:) [ January 20, 2008, 08:07 AM: Message edited by: popllt ]
  20. Thanks Flanker15 and Steve:) I am curious to know how do you calculate the individual's LOS when you have got a LOS MAP basing on 8*8m Action Spot? Is the calculation for the individual's LOS still based on Action Spot? And what is the area of individual Action Spot? popllt
  21. Another issue is that the terrain effect in LOS calculation is not so accurate. According the "v1.05 NEW FEATURES": When placing a Target order, the LOS line turns yellow if it's generally clear, but not perfectly so. This means either *some* soldiers in the spotting unit may not have a clear LOS or *some* of the target zone may not be visible. But it seems that this new feature doesn't work correctly. For example, A squad with 3 men was in a hill terrain. I was sure that one soldier was at the reverse slop without having a clear LOS to enemy units, which I signed with red circle. If the new feature work correctly, the LOF extended from the squad to the enemy units must be yellow, but not be blue. pic: [ January 19, 2008, 08:12 AM: Message edited by: popllt ]
  22. When running, one soldier run ahead, the other are far behind him. Now, not all the soldiers of the squad are in the same 8*8m grid. It seems that the LOS extend from a inaccurate grid. pic:
