  1. You've just gotta love the speed of the responses in this forum! My mistake, sorry. I clicked the top-most link on the Battlefront page containing the links, which directed me to http://www.combatmission.de/ (which does appear to be a non-existent page). However, thinking that those two links at the top were the only ones, I didn't scroll any further down the Battlefront page. Had I done so, I would've seen the other six links (the first of which I've now tried [battlefront.com's main server] and which indeed downloaded the 1.03 patch). My apologies once more
  2. I have just bought the US version of CMBB online from Battlefront.com, which turns out to be version 1.02. I'd obviously now like to upgrade this to 1.03, but one of the two links for this patch on Battlefront.com's website is dead, and the other at 3dgamers.com is only offered to download via a subscription service. Does anyone else perhaps know of any other site from which I can download the 1.03 patch for free? Thanks.
  3. Hi everyone. I've been off-line for the last while, but coming back now it's really heart-warming to see so many people willing to help another out! I must admit that I was a bit confused initially by the mention of a unit editor in the map editor, as the map editor on my copy of CMBO had no tabs or buttons at all that directly referred to units. For a while there I even considered that I may have some cut-down version of the game! However, I get it now. One purchases the units in the Unit section, then goes across to the Map section and clicks the Preview button. I was originally under the impression that the Preview button only served to show you the 3D final product of the map you're creating, but now I see that it contains the units as well (which the 2D map creator does not). From the 3D view one can then place the units wherever you want them, padlock them, etc. Once again, thanks for all the help.
  4. Hi Philippe - dashing to my rescue once again! The tabs on the map editor are, as far as I can see, to switch between terrain type, elevation levels and setting setup zone areas - i.e. all to do with how the map itself looks. I've never found them (in my limited experience) to do anything else. Somehow I can't seem to find the connection with how units fit into the picture. Besides allocating base colours (which I assume are automatically assigned according to which zone you place the unit in initially?), how does one place a unit on the map at all in the first place?
  5. Hi. As a new CMBO player I have gone through the manual in the above regard, but am obviously missing something. How do I allocate a unit's base colour (and thereby specify its initial setup placement zone) when creating my own scenarios? And more specifically, how do I alter these in an existing scenario if I am tweaking it to my own individual taste? The manual talks about units with orange bases as having been "padlocked" by the scenario designer to be unmoveable, but never explains how to do (or undo) this yourself. Can someone help please? Thanks!
  6. WOW!! You are a genius!!! The short answer for anyone else out there with this problem is thus: To have a specific ruleset tab displayed on CMMOS 4.05, you must have the Infoxxx.txt file included in the RuleSetxxx folder in your GEM Software Productions/CM Mod Option Selector/CMBO folder, where xxx is the ruleset number (001,002, etc.) that you want. Having this file there is what creates the tab for the ruleset. Just copy this file from Ruleset001 (which is one of the CMHQ ones that does show up in 4.05), rename it from Info001.txt to Info241.txt (for example, to create the tab for Ruleset241 - Darkight's 21st Army Group), change the Ruleset Name within the file to what you want to appear on the tab and Save. Voila! If you've manually created the RuleSet241 folder (staying with the same example) correctly in your GEM Software Productions/CM Mod Option Selector/CMBO folder, and unzipped everything from Mike T's zipped rulesets on this site into that folder, then suddenly you will now have the new ruleset in CMMOS 4.05, with all its activated and inactive icons nicely displayed. Thanks Philippe! It's always great when the solution is something so small and simple!!
  7. Ta. As far as I know, I have got the latest version of CMMOS - version 4.05. I say so because this version does include a CMAK option. My problem is precisely getting the program to recognise the rulesets. I can manually create the required ruleset folders in the GEM Productions folder on Explorer, but that does nothing for CMMOS as far as creating the ruleset tabs is concerned. I'm thus left with all the downloaded rulesets in zip format, which I can happily extract into my CMBO/BMP and/or GEM Productions folders, but I still have no obvious way of getting CMMOS to pick them up without an auto installer (the auto installer that came with the "old" CMHQ rulesets did all the CMMOS tab creating for me).
  8. Thanks Philippe. I appreciate the fast response! I have indeed used the CMHQ rulesets, such that I have most of the rulesets operative on CMMOS. It's getting those last few Mike T ones working as well that's proving to be the problem. I look forward to receiving your more detailed instructions in this regard - good luck with the computer reconstruction!
  9. Hi Lane. It's almost a year later, but did you come right with your ruleset problem? I've just joined the CMBO bandwagon now, and am sitting with the same problem that the rulesets for Allied uniforms, etc. are not auto installed to create the necessary tabs in CMMOS 4.5. As CMMOS.exe doesn't create any ruleset folders and I don't fancy having to install each Allied uniform mod manually, how did you get it to work?
