Tell us about Global Warming!
Well Jon, we are going to need our own thread. But yes, the planet is either warming or cooling. Any more questions?
-
Think of what might have been, if the wealth and energy and political will that went into Iraq I and II and Afghanistan before/during/after surge, into the CIA and the TSA and the FBI and NRO and the NSA; had gone into building bridges and roads and schools and productive industry at home.
It was called the Stimulas and it failed.
Funny isn't it?
-
You got a problem with that?
No, but I think Lincoln would.

100% w00t! w00t!

Pro gun, anti abortion, pro states rights, pro torture, pro corporate welfare, anti social welfare, anti taxation.
How'd you think I did?
(NO POLITICS, NO COMMERCIAL LINKS, NO SPAM)
Freedom loving Constitutionalist that believes in the free market economy. Government is not answer. That pretty much sums it up.
"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson

You have to be kidding, right?
Perhaps I would have a better idea if he would just release his college transcipts. Why the secrecy?

It's almost as if this thread offends someone's political sensibilities.
Politics? What politics? There is (NO POLITICS, NO COMMERCIAL LINKS, NO SPAM)

I think the real problem is that the US leadership has a couple of decades of properly bonehead foreign policy to account for, particularly expensive wars that have been economically ruinous.
Oh ya that’s right. It’s all Bush’s fault.
-
Why would anyone be?
It was on loan to Bush, and the new pres has differnt tastes.
That’s right. Obama is so cool that he would never blunder, gaffe or return a bust of Churchill to our greatest ally for ill or ignorant reasons. He just simply has different tastes. Perhaps a bust of Che or Moa is more along his cool tastes?
-
No offense taken. Sorry about your Mum. Lost my Grandmother to Breast Cancer. She loved her football and would have found pink shoes on male athletes that play a violent sport upsetting.
-
What a car crash. We are speechless.
Were you upset when Obama sent back the bust of Churchill?
Or did you even know about it?
-
Shotgun baby!

So none of you celebrate that there just may be some actual sport in all this?
The sports media has trivialized sports with endless catering to the female demographic and human interest angles. I and many others call it, “chicafacation”. Carlin called it, “pussifacation” of the population. Call it what you want but when the NFL “celebrates” Breast Cancer awareness for a whole friggin month with pink ribbons and cleats, well you can see the war is lost.

I am stockpiling cardboard, Elmer's Glue and tiolet paper rolls as we speak. Going to build a BAR and a set of binoculars.
-
OK, that's funny ****.

And when I am feeling hardcore, I break the Steelbeasts Pro PE and play all my 1985 scenarios, with all the mods I have done for 1985 and race around in my M1.
-
I dig the 1985 thing so much, I did development, art, counters and playtesting for this boardgame:

Believe me if I could do PC games I would have already done one on this topic.
-
It’s not about what’s currently likely for me (Taiwan vs China). It’s about what would have happened if the balloon went up in the mid 1980’s in Europe. I suspect it’s that way for the majority of gamers both PC and cardboard who do any gaming post WWII.
Look at the amount of board games that were dedicated to the topic back in the day. MBT, Firefight, Next War and on and on. Look at all the books, Coyle, Brown and Clancy put out. Every Cold War veteran, kid and gamer, wants Fulda Gap 1985. That’s a fact.
The US military is a shadow of its former self as is the Russian Army. Who wants to watch two former heavy weights try to round up enough heavy mech forces to make a battle interesting in the Ukraine in two thousand whatever? Who wants to see a bunch of Brigade Combat teams scurrying about with wheeled APC’s and Hummer’s?
I bet every German, British, Canadian, and Norwegian, former East German, former West German Polish, Dutch, French, American…….. Let’s face it, NATO or PACT groupie, would wet themselves if a CMSF could be done that modeled a NATO vs PACT conflict circa 1979-1988, period! Mechanized ARMY’s at their grand peek slogging it out to see who will control Europe. Just sayin………………
Johnnie gets his IPM1 vs Ivan’s T-80B. Tolga gets his Leopard 1A1 vs Slava’s T-64A. Gunter get his Leopard II against Pavel’s T-72K, tell me this is not a winner for BF?

Hang on there is a difference. If you are some nicotine junkie who inhales tasteless feminine, light cigarettes for the nicotine rush, well your just a junkie. If you savor hand rolled cigars, with rich blends of leafs for the “taste” and don’t inhale deep into your lungs, you are likely a sporting Chap, with class and appreciation of the finer things. A cigarette is a nicotine injection device.

No offenses but the Olympics are just plain "gay". It is catered to chicks and has been for over a decade. It's might as well be produced by Oprah. Endless stories about how this athlete had this "adversity" or that "hurdle".
"Al, up next the Women's 400m medley. In lane 3 is Bianca Schlitz from the former republic of Trajeekastahn. Bianca was conceived in a test tube by Eastern bloc scientists and adopted by a Portuguese Lesbian couple with Down’s syndrome, after the Berlin wall fell. She was born with a clubbed foot and clef pallet. Her Portuguese parents crafted a crude shoe made of tin and leather to reform Bianca’s foot into the shape of a flipper. Bianca trained hard in local irrigation canals and at age 7 was kidnapped by a one eyed, Mexican swimming coach with epilepsy. And now she is poised to win a gold medal”. Back to you Al.

Did you know Soviet troops were not issued socks? Did you know that drunk while on duty was a serious problem. Did you know that these 2 year concripts often picked cabbage and potatoes instead of training? All claimed by Suvarov.

Hey can we get seperate Cameron film threads addressing all his film, including documentaries?
-
I keep forgetting to move this thread to the General section since it is definitely not about Italy and has moved away from Shock Force too. Fixed!
Steve
Yes Steve, please move the thread and more importantly take note of ALL the interest surrounding a 1980's CMSF.

I will say, from the perspective of a Cold War insider, that a war with Russia in 1985 in Europe would've been a disaster
John Kettler
So NATO should have fought Russia in Afghanistan then? For such a dominating Soviet Army in Europe with much better gear, they sure didn't fare so well against the Muj.
I thought this was amusing on Romney's visit

Both are lawyers from or have lived in Illinois. From there I don’t think the two would agree much or care much for the other.
