  1. Yes, can we get a PDF version plz? I'd love to have the manual on my iPad while I play.
  2. Yeah, that seemed to do the trick. Thanks!
  3. I think it's another one of those annoying bugs you speak of because I've had the same problem.
  4. They're Army snipers and can only shoot a couple hundred yards? Put some Marine Snipers up there! (Just kidding, no offense).
  5. We actually used to practicing FAST roping onto buildings at the MOUT Facility in Camp Lejeune, NC. We did that until one of our Corporals broke his back from a fall which resulted from the helo pilot not being able to keep the chopper steady. The FAST rope went over the side of the building and the corporal basically fell three stories and landed on his back, but narrowly missed landing on a small concrete wall next to the building. Luckily, we were able to med-evac him to the soccer field by the fake school that was at the MOUT facility. The chopper landed and flew him right to the hospital, which probably saved his life, but his military career was over.
  6. I think I made a similar post about this before. I was thinking more for armored vehicle formations, but it would be neat to put your squads into specific formations like skirmish line or patrol column.
  7. Yes, ever since the patch and it's really annoying. Sometimes I can't select units that are in the dead zone unless I Shift-Left Click to select the area. I'm also having trouble getting troops into buildings. Sometimes when I click on a building I won't be given the floor select menu and therefore can't move troops in. This needs to be fixed ASAP because it makes the game essentially unplayable. I never had any problems like this before the patch.
  8. Wash with 40mm. Rinse. Repeat. You might want to "open up" prior to getting out around a bunch of buildings. This way your grunts can get a good look around at the buildings and maybe spot somebody hiding or the enemy may decide to open fire. Either way, it's better to risk a couple guys getting hit than having your whole squad cut down in the open. Seriously, dismounting troops is probably one of the riskiest ventures in this game. While I've read some people say that you should dismount your infantry early and often, I disagree. The Stryker and the infantry squad were meant to fight together, not separate. The only time I dismount my troops is when I have to capture an objective or when I'm going to use them to assault from a distance with some good bases of fire from my Strykers and MG teams.
  9. Thanks! For some reason I was trying to put it in the other directory. Cheers!
  10. I want to play some of the custom scenarios made by the community, however I've got the following problem: I downloaded, from Battlefront, the release version. My game is in English, however it looks as if the saved game folders are in German (but the scenario names are in English). I've downloaded and extracted to the scenario folder my custom games, but they don't show up on the BATTLE menu in game. I did confirm they were actually extracted. I've patched and still have the same problem. Thanks in advance if you have a solution.
  11. I'd like to see a full on U.S. Marine mod with campaign. Come on, Uncle Sam is gonna invade Syria and not send in mother green and her killing machine? LAV's would be easy to do. AAV's would have to be added. Squad setup is a little different in the Corps compared to Stryker infantry. Marines have SMAWs (my old weapon).
  12. When I was a young ground pounder in the Corps, the training was that, if all possible, it was better to clear a building from the top down. The idea is that you have part of your forces secure the bottom of the building while the forces sweep the building from the top. OpFor can always escape a ground assault by going up, but they'll run into the guys assaulting from topside. It's basically a pincer movement on a very small scale.
  13. It's fairly easy to micromanage and get good results. I'd like something that's a little more easier and practical. There could be a four or five set formations (column, skirmish line, wedge, vee, echelon) that vehicles and/or infantry squads assume. As it is, I can micromanage and get the same effect, but sometimes I get two idiot drivers and who can't seem to figure out which vehicle should go first while both sit in an ambush kill zone. I keep hearing the voice of my drill instructor saying, "That kind of crap is gonna get my Lance Corporals killed out in the fleet!" Anyway, it'd be something on my wish list and I think it would really be a good improvement to the game.
  14. I was a SMAW gunner in the Corps and I can tell you it's a hell of a weapon. For MOUT, it's great. If it's added in game, not only would it be used in the traditional manner, but it could be used to make a breach in a wall or building (which was something we practiced quite often when we did MOUT training). My understanding is that the SMAW is getting alot of use in Iraq/Afghanistan. They provide alot of firepower to an infantry squad. There are new types of rounds coming out for it--the hyperbaric round in particular--that are devastating. The hyperbaric round is really nice at just blowing structures to hell--basically, it will penetrate a structure and then detonate, bringing the structure down easily. So bring on the Corps expansion! Semper Fi.
