Open letter and personal statement
 
I would like to express a few words on a recent situation that came out in the gaming community: pay for mods. I have no intention to, I never had intention to and I will never ask for money for my mods. I strongly belive that my modding is something done for myself and my tastes (first of all) and for the benefit of the community (or at least those who might be interested in trying/using such mods). I belive that a lot of credit should be given to BFC (in this particular case) for making not only a great game but also a good mod support (instruments for unpacking/packing, file priority upload for the game mods, dedicated modding folder, easy to work with file formats).
I am for FREE modding, I respect those modders who ask, or are open to, donations and such, but I do not support any kind of paywall for mods, which are, in my opinion, a form of player-generated, free content for a game. 
 
I kindly ask not to start a Whole discussion about this matter here, but in case use another forum section. At the same time I had the desire to express these few lines here because I felt as part of the matter in question.

-Still missing some Russian vehicles, mainly the MTLB + variants. Which should come next. Then a few other odds and ends and reworks of UA vehicles. Still need to mod all game's bridges (under way). Then rework the independent buildings (some, at least). Maybe make a dirty/used variant for the personal/heavy infantry weapons.
 
-Master downloads: I tried with some options, but the master downloads would be very large files, and my upload speed is very slow, that would mean hours and hours of upload time and my connection is not that good, I often get error messages due to connection drops/hangouts/lag spikes, so at least for now I cannot provide master (collection) downloads.

A simple add on. Adds a name stenciled in low visibility on the left top hull of each vehicle. There are a a total of 12 names of more or less famous american explorers.
This is a stretched attempt, so consider it a full kind of a fictional addition, I had the files ready and decided to upload them.
 
Please note this is note compatible with the VS-17 mod.

This mod will add a funny hand-written graffiti on the back ramp of each vehicle. There are 23 different short phrases of various kind that will show up randomly on Bradleys in game.

This is just an option.
This mod adds some ERA blocks of a different color (desert yellow). These blocks will be shown on each Bradley in a random fashion, thus making each vehicle different.
The texture for desert blocks has been imported from the old CMSF.
If you like the concept, it creates sort of a camouflage.

Ok, this might not be for everyone taste, so it's just an add on. If you want your tanks to display a nickname on the gun barrels (noticed this was the case in CMSF too) you just need to download this and put it in your mods folder.
I also noticed that US M1A2 SEPs in recent europe training had these nicknames stenciled on the gun barrel. I managed to find a nice font, very similar to the original one. The names are in White but not too large or bright.
Anyway, grab it if you like it, otherwise you can keep your M1s with no charisma at all.

The names vary from WW2 tributes, to obvious ones, to "cool" or actual ones, got a dirty one there, too.
Hope I didn't make any mistake. 
The large file size is due to the number of textures... these should be enough to ensure a certain variety, although you might still get doubles (or blanks).

Let's be honest, whatever modern game you get your hands on, you can't avoid to feel this one as the battlefield's king. That's why I was so undecided upon so many things that, in the end, I had to base most of the weathering on the few recent photos showing M1A2 SEPs in europe during joint trainings. Thanks also to Saferight's force specific screens mod and its good pictures.
The trickiest part is the side ERA/spaced armor. BFC should really differentiate between the turret blocks and the skirt ones, otherwise you ca't get mud on the lower blocks without splashing unrealistically all the blocks in the same way and the upper turret sides.

Except, of course, the price of the game *isn't* high. Steam is a parasite company. Why do people keep suggesting BFC attach a parasite to its neck just to suck its profits? BFC prefers to keep its own profits for itself.

It's just a decision battlefront made a long time ago.  Keep the price high.  A lot of specialist games are like this.  Every so often one of us suggests they get on steam or do a sale and it gets thwacked.  They sorta have competitors.  WeGo though is what I really though, and that's unique.

I'd like just to point out a couple of things:

"The rock textures! Why are they brownish?"
you could just swap textures between CMBN and CMRT or make a mod.
There are no sunflowers in CMRT vanilla, but, again, you might mod one of the crops to look like sunflowers.
About flowers, well, I think they are sufficiently tall, I wouldn't like flowers taller than tall grass because I see such flowers rarely..
Again for the forest floor, you can swap textures with CMBN if you feel like, or make mod.
About bushes and heavy forest, the bushes CMRT uses in heavy and light forest grounds are exactly the same as "brushes", same doodads.

All in all if most of what you don't like is textures you can mod them or search for mods. Fortunately these are things we can change without too much effort.
