  1. Last night I had an AP round from a Sherman riccochet from my panter and it a tree besides. At the same time I got infantry casualties about 15m away. They were hidden and no other rounds were flying around. Are the shrapnels really that deadly?
  2. At least you had hits. I had a sherman rushed to axis side and did encounter the last surviving panther there. The panther did not fire and the sherman closed to about 20m. But instead of targeting the panther, the sherman used its main gun to pick-off nearby routed infantry. Only manual targeting the panther solved the stale mate. The panther had received a number of turret hits and therefore the gun might have been be disabled. But how did the sherman know?
  3. I just lost an M10 that had rushed to Axis side of the map to steamroll them from the back. At first I thought that AT infantry scored the kill. But later the kill stats of an M10 listed that lost M10 :-(
  4. I'm impressed. The UI feels much smoother than in CMSF. And I like the non-map background. It fits much better in the scenarios than before. But most important: Kills Stats and Hits are back in.
  5. No, but they used to similar effects the socks of a GI, standard model, filled with TNT and coated in grease. As has been demonstrated in "Saving Private Ryan" by Tom Hanks. ;-) Bye, Wuehlmaus
  6. Is this feature in? Great, I love your sense of detail.
  7. Maybe I'm wrong, but the german mountaineers still use mules for resupply issues. Yet I'm not able to find them in the TOE. But even without them, they play quite differently to the other forces. http://www.derwesten.de/leben/tierisches/Lasttiere-bei-den-Gebirgsjaegern-id379855.html
  8. As I'll start a new job on monday and need to get up early. Sooner would be better ;-)
  9. It would be great if the UI could display unusable ammunition greyed out. This helps to avoid picking up the wrong ammunition (e.g. javelins if there is no javelin launcher in the unit)
  10. Can't the mast be handled as a second object with its x/y position and orientation linked to the vehicle? Something like mounted soldiers on a WWII tank. And the z position (mast up and down) could be set by the deploy button already in the UI.
  11. Copied folder CM:SF + Marine + BF from XP/32bit to Windows 7/64bit and it ran immediately after licensing it again. Thank you, Battlefront, for allowing two installations!
  12. Yeah, you'd think so. But 30 seconds later his brave team member manned the gun ;-) And one minute later the harrier dropped his bomb on that location.
  13. Headshot: Challenger 2 HESH round vs helmet The helmet was not thick enough, the round passed through and exploded on the ground behind. Surely BFC needs to work on the 3D models to display damage ;-)
  14. Wow, what a mission. Made every single cent of CS:SF and Marines worth it. Great balanced teams, no overdominating javeline teams. * * * * * * * The first BTRs easily defended with two squads in ambush mode. Then sent them on a counter-counter-attack on the left flank for whooping up the remaining attacker. Bad idea, ended up right in the spawn area of the second wave. Next try: BTRs defended with one squad, one LAW remaining. Send a second squad split into two anti tank teams into the houses to reinforce the first squad. Then the nightmare approached. 3 T-62, not just rushing forward but probing in a stacked formation. The first one finally passed the first house and two rockets one in the side. Boom. The following T-62 immediately suppressed that squad with the main gun, luckily the outer wall held up the round. Then reinforcement spawned. I send forward another four anti-tank teams. On the far right I was able to put the only javelin team on the observation post that took care of the most far behind tank. The tank in the middle was already out-of-sight. That left one. Despite the looses it continued forward. Came into crossfire of 5 teams that had amo left and were in line-of-fire. Two AAV were able to provide Mk-19 fire to distorb the vision. It took one minute until the tank was done. All that hamering with LAWs, Mk-19 grenads exploding on the ERP. That was intense. Great work, Battlefront ;-)
  15. The bug is still present in 1.08. This happens in Armour Attack always under this circumstance ==== SPOILER ALERT ===== The savegame just before red is raining down artillery on me is never loaded. Maybe on purpose to not load & retry
  16. Thanks Madmatt, deleting the hotkey file helped. Now the long wait is over Best regards, Wuehlmaus

  18. The long wait is over... Each time I open the battlefront homepage these words are presented centered on the screen. Sadly it's not the patch :-(
  19. This campaign does set benchmarks! You now worry about each pixel soldier.
  20. How good are the actual optics of the javelin? In "emitremmah" (reverse to not to spoiler the scenario) one rifle time entered a building just to find a BMP-2 hidden on the outside. So they throw all grenades they had on that thing from ~5m away. It was impressive but useless. And they were equipped with Javelin and AT-4 as well :-( An antitank team 400m away also noted that BMP the same turn. It had javelins. Not good. It made "zisch", the BMP made boom - and my whole rifle team "aaarggh". They were blasted. So, is the optic good enough to detect hand grenades explosion 400m away?
  21. I have a dream: The target command detects that on this square there is a wall and it is only shot to it. And when it is breached, stops shooting. This is currently not the case for the M2 :-(
  22. Great patch! Just jumped into a quick "Allahs Fist" which was a FPS killer before. Much smoother now. And I greatly appreciate that an M1 doesn't immediately seem to spot anything on the LOS (in elite) when on the move. My M1 went into a fast move and so Syrian received there own fair share of first and second shots
  23. In the scenario editor are buttons? I mostly have a black screen there. When the mouse is moved, then they flickering appear. This also happens to main menu sometimes. The ATI ETQW hotfix for x1950 has improved it, but still it is not stable.
  24. In training mission 3, I had one squad approaching the village by moving aside the right wall. Another javelin squad was assigned to breach the wall (target command). Instead of using the missle, the tried it with rifle fire. That didn't work, but the ricochets took harvest among my first squad. That was impressing. In the same mission, the heavy MG loader placed himself right in front the barrel but didn't die.
