  1. As you say a temporary workaround that works for about 4 mins until the ATI crash raises its head anyway. Can you please bear in mind that this issue is not just related to Vista ATI as I am XP with the problem. Thanks
  2. Hi Rune, I have Win XP SP2 and AMD DC 6000 + HD2900 XT card, I have the Opengl error using both 7.6 and 7.7 drivers. In the ATI Catalyst Control Panel, the only OpenGl elements are Triple Buffering on or off and Force 24bit Z buffer depth. With the 7.7's i've tried these on and off but to no avail, same crash happens time after time, additionally, I can't say that changing these options has an appreciable effect on the grafix. I don't appear to have a performance problem, only a delay in selecting a unit then a crash when trying to issue a waypoint. All other game functions appear to work ok. Have also tried all the other fixes on these forums. PS, my machine is brand spanking new and with all updates installed and this is the second game installed on it.
  3. Steve, i've tried uninstalling the AMD DCO and running the game but exactly the same issue/crash occurs. I don't see the link between AMD DCO and what i suspect to be an ATI Opengl driver issue?
  4. The issue is not restricted to Vista, I have XP SP2 and have exactly the same issues with atioglx2.dll error and it takes ages to select a unit using mouse. This is not just a VISTA problem!
  5. Yeah we are all pretty much in the same boat one way or another. Running Win XP Home SP2 Asus M2R32-MVP AMD Dual Core 6000 2Gb Ram Radeon HT2900XT Soundblaster XFI All drivers upto date, all fixes in this forum tried and tried again in various combinations Can spectator the game ok but as soon as I select a unit (which takes upto 5 secs to register) and try to issue a waypoint it kicks in the old atioglx2.dll
  6. ATI Dual Core 64 X2 6000 with H2900XT card with 512mb ram, 2GB system ram, win xp SP2 (Home). Battlefront 1.01 version. Tried all the user fixes, + install of MS Hotfixes, AMD fixes etc, tried removing dual core opt and running etc etc etc, still no joy, can't issue a waypoint without atioglx2.dll kicking an error back. Depressed...
  7. Bumpty bumpty bump seeing as how us AMD/ATI users are currently neglected in being able to play this game... Game unplayable for anything more than 5 secs on any mission or campaign. My specs are posted on the first page and I have absolutely no issues with other games at all. Getting really desperate for an answer here although I do appreciate BF working hard to resolve these issues. Just for information, what is the refund policy?
  8. New forum member here and pre-ordered a few days ago and downloaded the game this afternoon. Battlefront version 1.01 Download successful Install successful Running successful (of sorts explanation follows) Although I can load the game and get into a mission (don't appear to have any gfx anomalies) as soon as I select a waypoint or the mission starts running the game crashes with Windows error reporting an issue with atioglx2.dll My System specs: AMD ATHLON™ 64 X2 6000 MOBO - ASUS M2R32-MVP: Express 3200, DUAL DDR II, S-ATA II, 2 PCI WinXP SP2 fully updated 512MB RADEON HD 2900XT PCI Express running 7.7 Cat drivers (latest release, same error happened on 7.6 drivers) Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme Audio 7.1 (onboard sound is disabled through bios) Latest Direct X Desktop running at 1280x1024 32bit colour and have also tried 1024x768 but still same error. Drivers are upto date for everything and i've also installed the AMD Dual Core Processor optimisation and the WinXP Hotfix - done previously and done again to make sure. Very frustrating but I have faith you guys will sort this. Games looks wicked so far, just a pity I can only enjoy it for about 5 secs each time!
