  1. Roger SgtMuhammed. I will make a note to let any release I have come with the advice of using WEGO, thanks for the suggestion.
  2. Thanks for the comments. I'd like to say I know what is going to happen but it will wait until tonight. I ran into some CTD when I fired it back up. At the turn change I had F-16 fighters coming in to pound a few buildings. It must have been too much because three tries to run the turn I CTD. Need to adjust some things. That was a RPG-7 coming from the 5th story of a building nearby, about 100 meters away. I'm running 1.05 now, I'm curious what I would need to change on this map to make it "1.05". I've read peoples posts that they are "making it 1.05" when they are working on older maps. I figured just saving it again is doing that? Regardless, I am getting some terrible lag running the map on hotseat while watching the battle unfold. But when I go to watch the video it runs seemless with no lag.
  3. I have been working on a very large map (2000x2000 meters) since CMSF came out, lost focus on it and now with 1.04,1.05 patches I was remotivated to get back on it. No timeline to finish it, maybe a few weeks, month. I hope to include a campaign of the work. The maps are based on actual locations around my hometown and rural area. I am attempting to do them to scale. I also included some screens of a interesting situation that I caught while playing hotseat to play test the BLUEFOR and OPFOR balance. This RPG is just about to impact the side of the Abrams. I haven't played past that point. It was at the end of a turn and I was just roaming around inspecting units and noticed it. So, will it die? Considering the spot on the side panels I'd say no. Like I said, I haven't played past the screen so I don't even know yet. I'll know by morning what happened. I'm sure screens of almost impacts have been posted before, sorry not seting it up, it was just funny to see it as something I didn't try to have occur. Now to the actual screens of the first map I am designing. Any pointers, critism or ideas are appreciated. I have thick skin, so if you want to come with both barrels go for it. My first thoughts are it's damn near unplayable because of the amount of units and the size of the map. Maybe scaling down the unit strengths would make it more enjoyable to a live play. This is more of a "Alpha " version, I haven't placed much eye candy yet and not sure how much I'll be able to with the size of the map.
  4. I see what he is getting at with his posts For example, I was playing hotseat with my brother(a Marine, Abrams Tanker) and I was Bluefor he was Opfor. He held a small town I needed to clear and occupy. As we started I took some losses going in the politically correct, conventional way. His RPG's put a hurt on my first two Strykers. So I laid back. Looked at the obvious defense posistions he would have. And then proceeded to pound them into the ground with Art, Rockets, Tanks, and aircraft strikes. To top it off, I leveled the mosque he had a huge force hiding in. When he took the turn that saw the Mosque leveled He hollered out "You can't do that!.....Wait, you can, cause BS politics are out the window, damn, that was a nice move!" For a moment his mind flashed back to his time in country and how they where hampered by rules of engagement. They knew the tangos where in there, but couldn't do much about it. I'm not saying, nor my brother, pounding all Mosques into the ground is the right move, but I have no problem of paticular targets being destroyed if it means a high value individual is taken out, or Bluefor lives are saved because of it.
  5. I'd also unlimited time. I have some scenarios in my head that I'd like to do, but the time limit will make them over too soon. Long, drawn out battles to retake a city. Hate to rush things. I'd like to send probbing teams in and scout, then have snipers placed, then start some small attacks. Something you could save for a whole days worth of playing,
  6. I like to dismount my infantry and advance with their vehicle as a lead gun. Using the Bradley or Stryker to suppress a target along with the MG' squad. Then I can push the infantry on flanks or right up the gut depending on the situation. On a Hot seat game I played with my brother, I as Bluefor and him as Insurgents, I used a combination of mounted, dismounted. The mounted ended up dead with the strykers from RPG-7's(which screw up anything they hit) and the Infantry that was dismounted took minimum losses. Also like to use the Strykers with a smoke screen and push the infantry threw it to the objective. The smoke cover really messes with the battle and keeps the RPG's to a minimum. It really comes down to the battle as it looks before I begin. Then I adjust to the conditions.
  7. Ditto, find the highest ground the furthest away from combat. Let them go to work spotting enemy forces and shooting targets of value. On the airfield map I had them on the roof of the control tower and they never took rounds but sent plenty down range. They also helped spot some enemy targets and I used the snipers for the Apaches coming in since I couldn't get my art spotter in place as fast. Engagement ranges, they should be accurate to 1000 meters, further if the right weapon is in play. Spotting, they shouldn't have a issue seeing across any big map if they are on high ground. I also keep them in the rear, behind the main infantry thrust. If a situation develops that they could get in better range by flanking I'll do so, and send protection with them.
