Question on real life barrel changes.
What is the main reason for changing a barrel? heat or worn out? or some combination?
-
At jkobmadrid - no it's not dying for all the reasons Steve said. 4 games, more employees etc,.
Two other points that were made in the thread go hand in hand. Umlaut talked about the time spent yet zero comments. And Seinfeld Rules talking about the lack of The Proving Grounds type site.
Comments with some constructive input are very helpful and provide an ego boost to the designers. I probably provided 10-15 reviews back at the Proving Grounds, yet I continuously saw posts there saying "150 downloads and zero comments. WTF guys? Feedback please". Bottomline: The feedback issue is not new.
Me? I only play QBs against one friend. So I disqualify myself from the lack of feedback complaint.

The engine handles them more like vehicles than buildings. And you can't enter them, very much like you can't commandeer an abandoned enemy vehicle.
.
Not very realistic disallowing commandeering of enemy vehicles. IIRC Oddball drove away in a Tiger. Woof Woof

It's often printed on the white place where you sign the card.

What else could they have had for breakfast?
Could we have kippers for breakfast
Mummy dear, Mummy dear
They got to have 'em in Texas
Cos everyone's a millionaire.

I recently cheated against my regular PBEM opponent and purchased a plane with guns only. I targeted a small area on turn 2. 8 minutes later 2+ squads were at the exact spot when the strafing began. In 5 seconds 11 casualties.
More troops arrived at the spot when the guy was making his 2nd pass. LOL I'm loving it. First time I ever used a plane in CMBN.

Welcome to the game.
"TACTICOOL" great new word. What this game needs is a STRATEGICOOL level of game play.
For learning tactics in the game I recommend the Armchair General videos http://youtu.be/OZ6dDlqye9Q
This is the 1st there are 4 or 5 more.

My only gripe off board arty stats for KIA/WIA don't show up on post game stats.
-
Yet many of these simple to correct flaws have been discussed many times on the boards with zero response by BF. .
I just noticed 17414 posts for BFC.... superwoz if I told you once I told you 17414 times don't exaggerate.

For about 75% of our total audience, perhaps. As anybody whose frequented these Forums over the last 13 years will know... Eastern Front is my favorite topic, but I'm not blind to the reality that the Western Front is where the sales are at. I bet if we put out an all inclusive 1941-1945 Eastern Front game it would be outsold by a Battle of the Bulge game.
Steve
Christmas Day 1973 when I opened my first war game, Panzer Blitz, my first thought "What is this Russian/German war you speak of?"
Until that point my only knowledge of the Russian Front was Col. Klink and Sgt Shultz's fear of a transfer there. I love the East Front too.
Can't wait for the battles on the steppe to begin. Patiently buying ETO games in the interim.

Yeah. Any given spotter can call missions from any assets that are available and which he is eligible to access, all at the same time if you want. The asset you have selected in the support interface will have different coloured targeting lines.
Is that in the manual?
-
Note that the spotter needs to have LOS until Fire For Effect begins. Many things could cause him to lose LOS, smoke, dust, being shot at forcing him to get below some obstruction, etc. But once FFF begins, he might as well wonder off for a cup of coffee.
Michael
or cup of tea if British.
Another few more spotter question
Can a spotter target for 2 guns at once?
Can a FO call in airstrike and arty at same time?

Big Joe: Crapgame you carry the 88.
Crapgame: Why did I get stuck with this? Hey, will you carry this thing for 50 bucks.
(???): You got the 50 on you.
-
Its in the manual.

Man, when reading this title I thought you were talking about some kinda gay, flower power, '60's "peace for everybody" thing.
For a moment I had this strange image of tough GI's and battle hardened SS men, hopping along hand in hand.
These nightshifts are really getting to me..
Let's all sing Kumbya.

I thought the main lesson from Chappaquiddick was "Don't drive across narrow bridges when you're pissed."
That's funny. Right there.

See what happens when you ignore the wet cement signs.

I have another question and I realize it is too early for details, but if I understand correctly Bagration will be about the destruction of Army Group Centre. My question is will it include the aftermath of Bagration? With aftermath I mean the defensive battles in the Baltics and Poland. And what can we expect after that?
Pretty sure with add-on modules Bagration will go all the way to Berlin.
-
Found out its something to do with my mods added. I removed the Z file and all was ok.
Yup, I had some CMSF Apache AH-64 named infantry squads in CMBN a while back. Its just a mod problem. Easy fix.

I don't use HH2HHH But could your problem be the ambersand & in your path?

Yeah, but mixing alcohol and duck tape...tastes pretty bad.
Michael
Worst part in that alcohol disolves the glue.
-
Duck tape: the answer to every problem!
Michael
Alcohol solves plenty of problems too.

All these discussions on location of the Sun based on seasons. I learnt somefink new recently. A few days ago was the Autumnal Equinox - FYI: the day/night time is not exactly 12:00 and 12:00 on that day. That usually occurs a few days after the Equinox.
You're smarter now.
Is CM dying?

Drum roll please.....
And the number one reason that says CM is NOT dying....4100 views on a two day old thread by folks fearing the worst.
