  1. mudcreek......As i recall all the Allied units in "Descent on Maleme" are "locked" in position at the begining, so you might as well stick to default....have fun!
  2. ant-man are you getting your e-mails ok ?
  3. i dont know about the italian infantry in the first world war but i have read and understood lots of accounts of demolition packs being used, things like K packs that could take out the early MK 1 tanks so maybe you can keep them on board for knocking out bunkers and such, other wise your infantry will be unable to function properly....
  4. Cheers Canada Guy saw fog on some screenshots, wanted it, now i got it, looks great YIPEE!!!!
  5. Is that the same "los" who built "Decent on Maleme" the crete op, if so ask him whats with the roads man, i went out for milk and came back with butter, up and down and up and down. By the way Matt, if you go down to "Circular Sqaure" (thats what its called) there`s a F**K off big library, just for you Sydneyites to enjoy get in ur T26 and go down there Rat a tat tat!
  6. John Kettler, Your not wrong mate, it would be ideal if dust diminished line of sight a little more progressively, rather than cut it off quite so abruptly, and preset area targets could remain so, even after becoming obscured by dust and smoke, this would play out much more realistically. (possible patch maybe, Mr BFC?). (dust in time) it has saved the ol` skin apon occasion by allowing units to high tail it out of there whilst the aggressor is temporarily blindsided and unable to press home the attack . so its swings and roundabouts for dust. sometimes i fast/move trucks up and down towards an area where i am not attacking in some crazy attempt to decieve my opponent or at least maybe keep them on the back foot & guessing, all adds up. "the answer my freind is blowing in the wind"la la laa
  7. "Can you see me coming? cos i can`t" those guns have got a good chance to set up before the dust settles. [ August 21, 2007, 04:37 PM: Message edited by: highliner ]
  8. love that second shot, We should have an Art/composition Thread? You might wanna see somebody about that Tank before entering. also the shadow changes sides on the treetrunks was this intentional or cant it be helped. downloaded my first Mod school, but its er...? um?...anyway?
  9. I think they called them "Tin Cans" or "Tin Canzers" or "Tin Canzapantswagon" something along those lines. I know what youre driving at, like the Sherman was renamed a "Tommy Cooker" The Italians decided to name their Battleships after famous victories, policy changed after they couldnt think of any. Btw Mel B, Posh + Ginger went Stateside, LOL [ August 14, 2007, 04:01 PM: Message edited by: highliner ]
  10. The way HQs can LOS for indirect fire weapons such as mortars etc . I think that may be particular to CMAK only ? As in the mortar team can be behind a hill, but a HQ in contact with them can spot targets and direct their fire. Also, on the subject of dust and smoke, dust can be telltale as well, you see a huge cloud of dust and you know something big is coming ! , it all adds to the tension . Smoke is the most usefull tool but dust can do the same job , Reading Antony Beevors Stalingrad (again) , its all smoke/dust/fire/hell/dogs jumping into the river.
  11. Nice Work ! Now if you could just splosh a bit of paint/grit on a Matilda III CS 42 and the Stuart II , I would be eternally gratefull ! Nay , MORE SO ! Looked in CMMODS , no joy. Cinibar yellowish green ?...perfect .
  12. Originaly posted by PLM2 do a search for pdf , manual should be there .
  13. More German troops than soviet troops are wearing glasses .
  14. I played this both ways and slaughtered the AI well before the 10 battles were up so definetly up the computer bonus or experience or both , or better still find some other nutter to play it against . Pulling depleted units out of forward positions and resting them for a one or two battles is a good way to keep the cannon fodder coming .
  15. I am up against KVs in the next battle "Blitzkrieg op /battle 3" so glad i popped into the forum ,
  16. it says ere, "Auchinleck found himself the uneasy succsesor to Wavell as C-in-C Middle East Command. From first to last, throughout nearly 14 months, he fought Rommel on the one hand and the ingrained conservatism of the British army on the other". They did`nt care for Wingate either. Guderian was an upstart, but he was out there "laying it on the line" the East India Company, was never "quite the thing" accordingly, but no one complained about the price of sugar. Also mentions, that at, first Alemein, Rommel recognised `General Auchinleck ... was handling his forces with very considerable skill, and tactically better than Richie` He wasnt running off. he was `writing down` quite a bit of Rommels armour, even if it meant point blank range, with the old 25pdr`s Monty on the other hand, had a thousand guns, just as Rommel was being `short changed` As to whether colonial troops are allowed to wander round south london with rifles strapped to there backs? the fabled Gurkas were not allowed to bring there wives, let alone guns,
  17. 19. Antman; i`m up for it, we are about ten years behind here in sunny Devon UK so time difference might be a bitch I like ops, can`t find the scenario to have a look.
  20. HI Tank killer; For a tactical affair try FREEMARKET/CMAK in the Proving Grounds. Its a thinkers battle! Bit wierd to begin with, but once you get into it, WHAM!. Like thinking !
  21. As for how the Germans attacked, i will presume it was straightforward Eastern front blitzkrieg, 1943. Panzerkeil and all that. Apart from the forward bit !
  22. Soviet `hedgehog` defences Citadel As a rule the strongpoints were allocated three to five guns each, up to five AT rifles, two to five mortars, between a section and a platoon of sappers, and a section of submachine-gunners. On the most important axes (the railway?) strongpoint had up to 12 guns each. If you can get it from the library Paul Carrell book Scorched Earth is a damn good read, no dry historian. Sadly T.E. right, no Kings, just as well!
  23. like the sound of it, could make for a good player v AI game, which is always difficult (to make a gud un!) Hitler held back the Kursk offensive to let Ferdinands (Elephants) and King Tigers come up to the line, so you could include some of those, AT rifles wont touch em though! Maybe have a tank battle towards the end. loads of bunkers, have fun! Did read a good account of it in...think it was Steve Carrel. no cant remember, something like that.
